Our kids smiled the entire time and did not want to leave. Shin Pond Village was very accommodating. We have stayed with them 2 Summers in a row now and the kids beg to go back. The rentals are clean!

I would not recommend visiting during the pandemic. The staff at the indoor check-in desk/ice cream bar/gift shop counter were not wearing masks. During check-in and check-out, we saw a few different unmasked employees (and never saw an employee with a mask). It felt like they have no regard for the safety of the guests.

OK, I don't mean that Shin Pond Village is Club Med with a meal plan, but it is a destination in and of itself with roomy, tastefully decorated cabins, a restaurant to catch a meal or an ice cream, enough provisions to make up for what you forgot, and even beach access on the pond. We were just in need of a base camp to explore Katahdin Water and Woods and the Matagamon entrance to Baxter and "the Village" more than fit the bill. Check out their website which offers great info on hikes in the area.

We camped here at a no amenity tent site with our ATV and utility trailer and tent. The owners and employees of the Villiage were all extremely nice and helpful people. The campground and property is ATV friendly, we were allowed to use our ATV to go to the store, bath house, dumpster. Two ATV trails leave directly from the property. The store had more than enough of everything including some souvenirs. The restaurant was excellent. The only tiny complaint I have is that everything is funneled through one cashier, ice cream, restaurant, gas, and store - So sometimes the wait was long in line. But, you are up North where things are relaxed so we didn't let our patience get us. Non-ethanol gas was available. We will definitely be back.

Every year we spend a lot of time in this little place. They are always friendly, have excellent ice cream and other food. And you can fill up the gas tank, get a few beers ans some light groceries to go . Check out the patten trail maps and enjoy some black raspberry or cotton candy ice cream ( the kids favorite )

Nice clean cabins, lake house, restaurant, nicest people who run the place!! Been having family reunions there for years and always look forward to it. Close to north entrance of Baxter State Park. Lots of things to do outside, or just sit on the porch on a rainy day :)

We have been going to Shin Pond Village for years. We have camped in tents and campers and stayed in the cabins and motel. This is a great place to relax, but still enjoy the outdoors. Baxter State Park and the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument are less than 30 miles away. One can also climb Mount Chase or swim at the beach at nearby Shin Pond. The campground isn't without it amenities which include a camp store, restaurant, and WiFi. Great place for ATVs, snowmobiling, and outdoor weddings.

We stayed at the Lake House property for one week in July while other family members camped or stayed in the cabins. The Lake House was amazing three bedrooms and the loft allowed for private space for us. The lawn going to the lake was huge, swimming was excellent and great for the kids. They had kayaks and a paddleboat for us to use. The Lake House was amazing and had all of the amenities you could want. We booked it again for next year. The customer service was second to none. The restaurant and store is fantastic. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Shin pond village offers both regular and premium gas, great food, lodging and has a little store where you can get souvenirs and needed supplies. They have a charging station to charge up your cell phone and they have trail maps also. Definetely a great stop while out on the trails! Good for summer and winter activities. They also offer sled rentals.

We came across Shin Pond as we were looking to attend a wedding that was being held there. It was the best choice. We stayed In the guest suites. Very clean, beautiful view, and very peaceful. The second time we had to attend a funeral. It was short notice but they made sure they got us a place to stay, We have been back twice since then and plan on going back again soon, You couldn't ask for better people. Always go out of their way to help you and make sure your every need is met. Great place to stay for a family vacation. Can't wait to go back again, It's just like being at your own family camp. Great food to, Friendly staff, Very hard working people.
