I cannot say enough about how great the room and the staff were! The housekeeping staff were friendly and rooms were cozy and immaculate! We got in a small accident in the parking lot and the front desk staff went above and beyond actually assisting to get the car mended so it was drivable!! Stay here!

The Place was clean up to date. We got the King room second floor, ocean view. That's the location you want. Hign wood ceilings and cement block walls make the place almost soundproof. The bathroom is small if you need a big bathroom this is not your place. Best for 2 people only. Also has a balcony.

Poolside room #20. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room. Yes-you are right on W Grand Ave but we chose to embrace it and enjoyed people watching from the cute porch. Close proximity to the beach was perfect. Note: there is new owners/mgmt and I’m hoping they continue to provide a clean, comfortable stay. Office is closed and check in is at Waves next door. I wonder what they will do with that space? Next time I want different building just to try another Gull room. Will be back!

I want to be fair to this establishment because Molly and Collin were very kind and upgraded our room to a cottage when they realized there was a mixup in the type of room they had booked for us. They couldn't have been nicer. Here's the thing. The Gull is part of a group of hotels and for some reason they check everyone for The Gull AND Waves in at the same front desk so when you arrive at check in time which is 4:00 there is a long line. The woman ahead of me had room #6 but there was no way to tell if it was a 6 or a 9 so I had to wait while she asked them which it was and for some reason it took the woman FOREVER to figure this out. IN the meantime 8 other guests checked in with different attendants. My husband asked me what in the world took so long because so many people were coming and going while she checked a room number?!
Anyway, we got to our room and I was very disappointed. Seems they didn't actually book me for what I had discussed with the person on the phone and when I got there they didn't have any "King rooms with a view" which is what I had booked. I ended up in a room with 2 queens and a smallish balcony overlooking the parking lot. They had sent me a confirmation they said that I had opened but I somehow missed that they booked me in a Queen room. So pay attention to your confirmation emails folks. My bad. Everything felt clean but let's just say that the resort is older and the view is from an angled balcony that is pretty far from the beach so unless you are in the "Inn" don't expect much of a view. You are basically looking at a parking lot. Also, I am a decorator but it doesn't take a decorator to know that it is kind of nice to match the curtains? There were 3 different types of curtains on the windows, all different lengths and old and the kitchen was very poorly equipped and all utensils and cups etc, needed updating. Nothing matched and there were not any matching pieces at all.
The beach is lovely, the location is good because it isn't too close to the amusement park but KNOW that there is a train that goes by frequently less that 100 yards away at the closest intersection. It is LOUD especially at 2 am. There was a great breakfast restaurant down the road called Paloma's that I highly recommend but bring your earplugs, don't expect the Hilton and enjoy the beach and ocean if that's what you came for. The 10 am Check Out is absolutely ridiculous and WAY too early. I haven't ever stayed anywhere that you need to be out by 10 am, this is not fun, especially after being at a wedding the night before. This place books because people want to go to the beach, not because it is a wonderful resort. Again, when there was a mixup with our room and I was upset, Molly and Collin were very kind and met our needs and upgraded us to a cottage and thank goodness they did or we would have been really close to the train so we truly appreciated that. It is not the staffs fault that this motel is outdated and poorly equipped and next to the loudest train I have ever heard at 2 am and all day long. So...in the end, it is the responsibility of the owners to make this nicer by updating the dishes, utensils, etc.

Disappointed with Gull Inn, this year. I have stayed 4 times in the past 10 years, this being 5th after 5 years absence. The main room downstairs is shabby ... rug stained all over. Coffee table cleaned EVER, this summer? No napkins or plates in the coffee buffet area. No liquid creamers, just dry packets w sugar and creamora. Fridge is in disarray...old expired food inside. Trash sitting outside guest room on this main floor. Only 2 sets of towels in double queen room. Just not the same as in past years where 2 people lived in downstairs apartment. If anything needed, they were right here to help. A premium is paid to stay in this lovely old Inn, but not worth the money, anymore.

We stayed in Appartment 2, which I booked on their website after carefully reading the description and looking at the pictures. It ws described as MODERN and I looked at pictures of an apartment with Wood floors. To my surprise Apartment 2 is covered with carpet that is from the 80s at best. Disgusting, there is nothing modern in that apartement.

Also it is very important to know that the train passed about 2 to 3 times at night. It woke us up everyday at 1, 4, and 5h30 AM. It feels like we are sleeping on the train rails.

Finally there is no service during the whole week and a minimal number of towels. You have to go ask for more towels...

We had a good time anyhow but where in America would I pay 480$ CA a night for an old apartment with carpets.

Gull inn, never again will I trust your pictures and website!

They took money from my creditcard account 3 times after I cancelled the booking. When taking money from my account the first time I asked them why they took money from my account. Then they quickly took money from my account 2 more times:

1. 99,49 euro(never put back)
2. 22,24 euro (put back)
3. 75,69 euro (put back)

When I requested my money back they said they already put the 99,49 back in my account. But they actually took 200 euro's from my account in total and only put 100 euro's back. No one at Booking seems to understand this, and I think this motel knows this and scams people with it. So watch out people and make sure you watch your creditcard closely if you booked with this Motel!!

First off we as a family been staying at the Gull Cottages for about 4 straight years love the location and how clean the property was. Now it has sold to a different owner and let's say it's not up to par for the course. Cottage 3 once we arrived smelled like cigarettes on the porch and living space was strong odor of marijuan. Now we are fighting ants not a few there is a colony under this place. The grounds are not the same and it shows. We will be looking elsewhere for our next vacation.

The place was immaculate. Covid restrictions are kept well in this town. Cleanest room I have ever seen. Harland was helpful anytime I needed him. Super close to the beach and a very short walk to the pier. Relaxing weekend was enjoyed by my family. Will definitely make plans to come back to The Gull.
Note... Coffee makers are Keurigs. Bring your own K-Cups.

Just came back from the Gull Inn in OOB Maine. Upon arrival I was very disappoined with ocean view room. Very small, stuffy room, 12 inch TV on vanity table so you couldn't actually watch it unless you were sitting in a chair in front of the bathroom door! Air conditioner noisy and made tiny room like an ice box. Leave the window open and you swelter. No in between. You could see some of the ocean (sideview) IF you were standing up or lying in bed facing east! I asked to be relocated. Shown one other room..even worse location behind..where they set up for the free breakfast and guests sitting on front porch would be right outside your window! The small double bed had a lousy mattress and my back ached all the time which never happens to me. The young kids minding the Inn for the owners were very sweet but had little control over making guests happy. The front porch is nice but does not make up for everything else in my opinion. Furniture not at all comfy. It's a nice old house, and as close to the beach as you can get, and the place is immaculate. However, I would never stay there again. Also lots of noise..activity from the three adjacent GULL cottages/courtyards on East side of Inn also owned by the innkeepers.
