If you are looking for that place to stay to just relax but in a place you feel completely safe and familiar. This is the place to go. A walk away from the beach, literally right down the street from one of the best beaches in Maine. Not in the mood for the beach take a dip in the pool at the awesomely inviting pool and patio. Want a meal The amazing restaurant Beachfire is right across the street with great food, drinks and a nice fire pit serving lunch and dinner. Great owners, Mark and Scott are awesome they mingle with the people around the pool during the day and are extremely helpful. CLEAN!!!! The rooms are so amazing pictures on the wall of sunsets and beaches all taking by Mark one of the owners. the rooms are scrubbed clean by amazing cleaning ladies. Have a fur baby bring them along to this pet friendly motel. By the way the owners have such adorable dogs! If you want a place to stay that is inviting, comfortable, clean and laid back. Search no more this is the place to go. Already booked our extremely vacation!!

Perfect stay! We truly enjoyed our stay here. The owners are welcoming and hospitable. Rooms are immaculate - clean and beautifully decorated. My family and I were extremely impressed with the owner’s attention to detail in the rooms, pool area, and the property itself. Location is excellent! A quick 3 minute walk brings you to the beach and great restaurants are well within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!

We were booked for 5 nights and upon checkin received a delicious free gift. The owners are helpful and delightful. Our room is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. This motel is within easy reach of the beach via walking as well as numerous restaurants. The property is well cared for with gorgeous flowers and a beautiful dolphin pool. We really hope we can return for another delightful stay.

We had 8 rooms for 3 nights ($300/night for a motel), some families in our group stayed longer. We have been having our family reunion at the Footbridge Beach Motel for 17 years. We have never had any trouble with the previous owners. This owner has treated us like we are invading his backyard and we had to walk on eggshells around him. I understand that with 27 people, 11 being kids ranging in ages from 1-16, we are not a quiet group, although we really do try. A couple kids ran up the stairs, the owner yelled at them, we spoke with our children and it didn’t happen again.
During dinner each night, the owner would pop his head over the wall while we were eating, which was a bit creepy. The owner said we were inconsiderate because we took up the 3 tables by the grill for dinner. However, in the past we always left an extra table, but this year there were only 3 tables instead of 4. Again we had 27 people, and we even brought some of our own chairs to accommodate our group. The owner asked us to bag up our own garbage after dinner, which we did. A few years back, my brother was asked to break down cardboard boxes in a recycling pile that was under the property stairs. Most of the cardboard boxes were not ours, but my brother did it anyway because my mother loved staying there and my brother didn’t want to make any waves. This year my sister even skimmed the debris and bugs from the pool, which wasn’t heated while we were there.
Our family is very inclusive, we offered other guests and the owner cake when we celebrated birthdays. We had extra lobsters one night and gave them to the owner, which he gladly took. We are not at all “the family from hell,” “entitled” nor “trashy,” which we were called by the owner. The name calling was hurtful and inexcusable. When we arrived, there wasn’t even a “Hello, Welcome to the Footbridge Beach Motel!” Instead, the owner started complaining about a previous guest, mother and son, which I thought was a bit unprofessional. I should not have been surprised to hear that he bad-mouthed my family to other guests when we left.
There were lies and exaggerations from the owner. He said that we left broken glass, which was a lie. My mother picked up glass from a previous guest by the grilling area the first night we were there, but we were blamed for this too. The owner even said that 3 rooms complained about us, but one of the rooms he spoke of, Room 11, was actually one of our rooms.
Now that I look back, it seemed like the owner was trying to push us out and maybe we should have changed venues when the last owners left. Our family has gotten larger over the years and I believe we just outgrew the small motel.

Response from Mark Kilduff, Owner at Footbridge Beach Motel & Cottages
Responded Nov 2, 2021
Jodi Jodi Jodi. Making the rounds I see. Bad mouthing us again. Keep it up and they call in harassment. Trouble is Jodi - your the people that don't respect others. We have multiple witness’s and we have the 5 star ratings 3 years running to prove we run a great place. Folks, if your reading this , know that we are laughing at the Bogen family for this review. None of this is true. Just a scorned women who (although you didnt pay anything, your mother did) managed to lock her daughter in the room and then freaked out. Just because someone feels they can rip a person apart doesn't mean there is any evidence or truth to it. You see Folks, this is a family of drinkers. Like most drinkers, they thought they could come here , let loose and no one would get in their way. When they drink – they don’t like to manage there behavior and make no apology for it either. Multiple Travelers staying here spending as much as the Bogens at the same time were put out and offended that they had to listen to the Bogen nonsense and watch the so called adults drink in front of their children not to mention the children of other travelers. One elderly couple from Ohio had to move out of the pool area altogether because the tribe showed up and took over the pool area and was splashing them. No apology from the adults or children either. Its funny she brings up "check in" because it was the Mother who booked and paid for this whole visit that was telling us that her son in-law was hitting his child. How that got twisted into us telling stories - well its all laughable. Jodi, we never lied. We have no reason to. However, your family - Well they like to drink. They get too rowdy for public settings. They do not respect others and they like to threaten people. Yes folks I was threatened to be beaten when I expressed that the Bogen partying is over reaching the limits of what is acceptable. Maybe you should stay at a campsite where what your family pull’s - will likely be in good company. As I told you 12 weeks ago in another one of your reviews “We have many Families and many people that show respect to others and our property. Trashy People get what they deserve. And you dont get to "Get Away With It". This is your 4th annual family visit to our Hotel. The first couple years were fine. Last time we had to get on you all about the mess you were leaving behind. This year the trash Garbage and remains of heavy drinking were inexcusable. Any decent person would never leave the filth left behind by a group of 7 rooms. Beer bottle caps left everywhere Broken glass so anyone with bare feet would get injured. This visit shows me your party had no respect for our other travelers and our property. They litter, they talk loud when others staying are trying to sleep and several other observations that are not responsible to say here in a rebuttal. Bottom line - There are those in your party that does not respect others around you. The word entitlement comes to mind. People were offended. The owner was threatened over suggesting your party is over reaching. People were closed off from using the grill area because you took it over and made it all yours. Thats not what courteous people do. We fielded numerous complaints of your parties excessively drinking hard liquor right in front of THIER rooms and had to ask you to basically shut up. Two families of 5 staying in 3 separate rooms all said they wont be back if "that family will be here next year" We assured them YOU WONT. It is not appropriate to share observations here but your parties behavior was very shocking. Even the 1st night that part of you arrived , the children were allowed to run up and down the hallways with no supervision. waking people up. We had to intervene and learn no parent was even watching their children. So to the public reading this - If you are conscientious, polite and respectful of others - The way any good parent would ask of their children - we invite you to experience Footbridge Beach Motel & Cottages.” …AND MAINE RENTALS – BE AWARE OF THE BOGENS

This little motel was wonderful. It is within walking distance of the Footbridge Beach and just outside of town. We really appreciated that because it was not as loud or crowded. The person checking us into the hotel gave great restaurant recommendations. There was coffee in the AM and checkout consisted of putting a key back a locked box by the front desk. We had some issues with the shower curtain rod not staying up and the bathroom door did not shut all the way. That said, the beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Had a great girls weekend up at this hidden gem of a place, with hosts that made our trip such a memorable experience. Scott greeting us with a warm welcome, we had a room on the second floor and he brought our suitcases up to the room for us. The room had a great layout with 2 queen beds, sparkling clean, plenty of towels, small refrigerator, along with a microwave. The a/c unit was easy to use, cooled the room down very quickly, and was very quite to run , so we slept soundly. The view from this room overlooked the pool area with all their beautiful flowers. We also got to meet their fur babies Brady and Brandi who were such love bugs. Scott and Mark thank you for such a great weekend, we will be back. Joanne and Nanci

This is such an outstanding place to stay in Ogunquit! The owners have worked so hard to make every guest happy with their lodging. The attention to detail is impressive and everything about this place is extraordinary! It is about a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach and a 1 mile walk to the center of Ogunquit. There is a fun pool area where you will meet the other happy guests and exchange stories about how much you love this place. We can't wait to go back. We will see you at the pool.

Hotel was in a good location and clean amenities. Was dog friendly which is why we chose to stay here. Only negative is that they have a Dog Park next to the pool but they won’t let you use it. The owner told me we couldn’t use it because it was just for his dog.
Hotel should change that policy as it would be a nice amenity for guests and help the motel stand out amongst others in the area.

This hotel was very clean! The pool area is beautiful with gorgeous well cared for flowers. The beds were really nice (I wish I had the bed at home hahaha) - rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. I wish it was located a little closer to the beach and town. We had to drive everywhere and park which can be a pain. I would definitely stay here again.

Greeted by wonderful hosts, Mark & Scott, along with best buddies Brandy & Brady. The room was incredibly clean, furnished with all the necessities. The hosts also gave accurate dining recommendations, one of which was the excellent Italian restaurant (Angelina's) right across the road. It's a nice walk to the beach over the footbridge, away from the downtown crowds. We will go back!
