Annual Girlfriends’ Getaway last weekend at MWH. We stay at the six-unit Dockside each year and love the ocean views from our decks, cocktails while sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs … reading, chatting, munching, sipping … bliss. But something was amiss this time at Dockside. Lower level rooms have one entry door - typically with a screen door. This year my room was missing the screen door and had just one screen on a small window. The HVAC unit is very loud so it was disappointing not to have the option of keeping the door and windows open to enjoy the sounds and smell of fresh ocean air. The upper rooms have front and back entries - again, the screen doors were an issue … whether missing or the glass on the storm doors had not been replaced with the screens so no ocean air or crashing waves to lull you to sleep. May not seem like a big deal, but when you’re annual returning guests who look forward to your rituals and the amenities MWH offers, this year they were not quite up to snuff. But of course, we’ll be back next June!

We stayed at Marginal Way house Hotel for a long weekend. We stayed in room 114 which looks out onto Wharf lane. Our room was quaint and very clean. Only issue is there is a lot of foot traffic on Wharf lane at all hours. We kind of knew that when we booked. Loved the view from the deck and spent Friday night with a bottle of wine and snacks sitting out in Adirondack chairs watching the ocean. Does not get much better than that. Location is great , we walked everywhere. We would definitely come back . 😊

Marginal Way House is just perfect in every way. We had room 107, second floor. (stairs are a little steep) The ocean/river view from our room was beautiful and the sunrise was amazing. Room was extremely clean and decorated so pretty. Not your typical hotel room. They had contactless check in and check out. The property has beautiful landscaping and Adirondack chairs to enjoy right near the water. It's a 10 minute walk over the footbridge to Ogunquit beach. You can walk to the town of Ogunquit where there's shops and restaurants to enjoy. You can also walk the Marginal Way, which is about a 2 mile round trip walk and visit Perkins Cove. Staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. So happy we found this gem. Hope to return again.

We stayed in two different rooms at The Marginal Way House this week - #202 in the Wharf House for 3 nights and #500 - The Cottage for 4 nights. #202 was nice, with a beautiful view, covered front porch, comfortable king bed and large shower. Our only suggestion would be to replace the 2-person couch with a twin sleeper sofa to accommodate one more person. Just about everything was perfect with #500. It was spotlessly clean when we checked in, with a gorgeous view of the river and ocean. There was a large dining table that seated 4 for dining and playing games. Queen bed was comfortable, but the daybed...not so much. We would suggest replacing the daybed with a sleeper sofa, which would provide comfortable seating as well as an additional bed. Other than outside, there was no comfortable place to sit and read. One other suggestion would be to install a ceiling fan over the queen bed to cool down the unit. We had to turn on the A/C because their wasn’t much air circulating. Other than these couple of suggestions, our stay was great. Laura and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We will be back!

What a great weekend getaway here at Marginal Way House! We enjoyed every minute. Room was immaculate, views were beautiful and the sunshine right from our deck....just awe. The grounds were peaceful and relaxing...sitting in an adirondack chair watching/listening to tide come in while enjoying your favorite ice cream 🙂! Only problem we had is not finding anymore availability to come back asap ☹
