A charming, clean, older hotel with balcony views of Saco Bay into the ocean. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Then set your alarm for dawn, enjoy it from your balcony then go back to sleep. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Ocean Park hasn’t changed. It’s Norman Rockwell America
My family had been coming to Ocean Park since the 1950s and this place is an oceanfront institution. You can hear the waves crashing as you drift to sleep, then walk over the dunes for a day at the beach. Hard to imagine being any closer to the ocean. Great family vibe, very clean. Old building so you can hear your neighbours.
Right on the water and a convenient drive to everything. However,it is badly in need of upgrades and repairs. Couldn't get the closed captioning to work on the very small TV,which since my husband is deaf was a bummer. But as I said, location, location!
We love The Billowhouse! It is in a quieter part of the beach, which is great during this time of covid.. But most of all, it is the people at Billowhouse who are so welcoming and helpful...Judy, Christine & Mary. They can't do enough to help you; they helped carry our luggage up to the 4th floor! We have stayed there several times, and we are already booked for next summer! A real fun time in these "stay at home times"!
This is my 4th year staying at the Billow House. It is a magical place. You are right on the ocean with spectacular views. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for the Perfect vacation. They take pride and pay attention to every detail. Judi who manages the property is always around to help with all you needs. We have already rebooked for next year. I have stayed a lot of place but the BillowHouse is definitely my favorite. They have become like family.
We have been coming to this beautiful, peaceful location, for many years. A nice quiet community on a wonderful beach and a great location. It’s close to Portland and lots of activities for the kids. Coming to the Billow House is always a return home.
My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Billowhouse. The manager, Judi, is very friendly and accommodating. The views of the ocean are phenomenal. The Inn supplies you with beach chairs and towel. 100 ft walk to the beach. The locals that visit the beach are extremely friendly and outgoing. We had such a great time that we made reservations in a couple more weeks. So two weeks later we come back. We had been told by the manager that we had to smoke outside. Obviously, this is normal practice in all inns, Motels, and hotels. On our first visit we smoked on the back veranda. When we came back we did the same that night we are arrived. The following morning, I picked up the photo album book for the room where there Was a lot of information on what to do in the area and also the Inn itself. Here I discovered that smoking was only allowed out on the sidewalk. I instantly felt horrible for breaking the rules. I’m a teacher and I’m a rule follower and I really thought I was in compliance with the rules by smoking out on the back veranda. But I was wrong. The manager discovered that I had been smoking out on the porch and she was livid with anger. I had come in from the beach and She was in my room. She had already written me a very direct message. But she also confronted me there and I felt terrible and apologized told her that I did not realize our tresspasses until just this morning. She curtly excepted my apology. Excuse myself back to the beach and we did not come back into the room until about 10 o’clock at night. There was an amusement park not far from where we were. She had taken our blankets and all we had was sheets. And I know deep down inside that this was punishment for a transgression. We had a very cold very uncomfortable night. I truly believe deep down inside the core of my being that this woman wanted to punish us. We will not go back there…
what a welcomed treat after after navigating through a year and a half of COVID. The location was awesome with a great view of the ocean and walking distance to all the lovely shops in the quaint town of Ocean Park. The studio was very clean and was more than we expected with so many sweet personal touches, especially the homemade cookies. Judi was readily available and very willing to help in any way she could always with a smile on her face. I'd go back there in a heartbeat .
The photos will reveal all. 350.00 a nightmare of a fee. Gross. We were concerned on touching anything. Spotted water on floor ,wiped with towel(see pic)Bathroom has a toilet brush and plunger on display. Sheets (yikes) The room we stayed in had a 7 foot ceiling and all flea market accessories. Boxed cookies in zip lock..really? Why?TV... Very small and cannot be seen from bed🤣...Not worth the price .I prefer to stay in a place that is as clean as and nice or nicer than home.
You just can’t put the Billowhouse into words. You just have to come and experience it. It is truly one in 1 million and smack dab on the ocean with the most wonderful staff who take every little touch to make you content. It’s a sweet simpler step back into time and the town is so very friendly and unique. I have been coming for over 20 years and it felt so great after Covid times to return to this home away from home.
