A beautifully restored 19th century country inn at the foot of Acadia National Park and overlooking Northeast Harbor. The beautiful Asticou Azalea Gardens are right across the street from the Inn. The history of this property is truly fascinating! The Inn features a restaurant and a heated swimming pool.

Our Family has a Summer home so we come every year. Asticou is always a treat! Their popovers are the best— so is the lobster stew. Be sure to take a stroll around the property and the gardens across the street.

Our trolley tour guide suggested we go here for tea and popovers. Beautiful views of Northeast Harbor. Gardens, pool, and wonderful old hotel. What more could you ask for after a busy day on Mount Desert Island.

Would highly recommend if you want to try a Pop Over! We had taken an amazing boat trip out of Northeast Harbor and asked the captain if there was anywhere else we could get a Pop Over other than Jordan’s Pond and he recommended here. My husband and I both got an order of Pop Overs and shared an order of the Lobster Crab cakes. It was all SO amazing! And sitting on the patio overlooking the harbor was the added bonus!

Chose the historic Asticou Inn for two nights in Acadia National Park and two days of cycling. A perfect choice! The Inn (and my room) are beautiful with that perfect combination of history, comfort and quirky charm. Plush towels and bedding, and a claw foot bath. The restaurant has both delicious food and harbor views, along with a staff that adds to the experience, the ones I met being from Colorado, Holland, Pennsylvania and Westbrook CT. Thank you Asticou Inn.

Dear Guest, Thank YOU! I am very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you were able to connect with some of the staff members. Our staff works very hard to create a delightful experience and it is good to know that their work has paid off. I am pleased that you enjoyed the overall experience and hope that we can have you back to see us very soon, or at least next year! Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and give us feedback! Best Regards, Will Matteson General Manager

We were looking forward to a meal at the inn. We stopped by on a rainy day and were taken to an enclosed weather proof deck area. They had multiple propane outdoor heaters going inside the tent with minimal ventilation - it seemed like an all around bad idea. Not trying to get Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Needless to say we took our food to go! Food was average.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. I am sorry that you were unhappy with your seating and felt the need to leave. We take our guests' safety very seriously and would not put you or anyone in a situation where you might be exposed to dangerous emissions. Our covered porch area is much more well ventilated than it may appear. It is never ideal for us to be serving on the covered porch in the evenings when it is raining, but when we do many guests seem to appreciate the atmosphere and the opportunity to dine outdoors in spite of the weather. We also offer indoor seating in our lounge and dining room where we could have moved you as well. I'm sorry that you did not like the atmosphere. If you ever want to give us another try we hope to provide you with a better experience. Best Regards, Will Matteson
