My son, his wife and my two grandchildren, and the family dog did a five day road trip using this hotel as our base. Clean, basic rooms. Restaurant on the premises was ok. We had a late dinner our first night there. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Our room was comfortable and clean. David, I believe the own was extremely helpful in pointing places to see and things to do. Great location, close to Acadia Nat'l park..would recommend and stay there again!
We stayed here two nights over the long weekend. Nice family run hotel very close to Acadia and away from the bustle of Bar Harbor. Nice view of the marina and harbor. A cute gift shop and serviceable restaurant on the premises. A better selection of towels would have been nice, and the walls were fairly thin-we heard every cry of the toddler in the next room. But it was a good value in an area dominated by one percenters and we would stay again.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. A view of beautiful Northeast Harbor. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes and takes you through Acadia National Park and into Bar Harbor Very convenient! You can also walk into the little town with a great restaurant The Colonel’s. Highly recommend this place to stay!
We opted for a four nite stay at the Kimball to get away from extra busy Bar Harbor, still close to the main spots in the park and nearness to explore the western half of the island. Signage (off route 3) to the Inn left something to be desired but we simply looked for the marina and there was the Inn. We had a ground floor room in the building separate from the main one but it worked out fine for the short amount of time we were there during day light. The room and bath were clean with plenty of storage space. Plenty of hot water whenever we wanted. The tv picture was maybe not the best but we were more in a reading mode anyway. Yes, the walls are quite thin and other conversations (and snoring) were readily noticeable. However, we discovered the ac/heat fan was more than enough for a nice background noise w/o those conversations. Staff did a nice job freshening up the room and replacing towels. Also, Shawn and other staffers at the reception area were particularly helpful and courteous. Parking was just a few feet from the front door and the marina was an easy walk away. We ate at the Tan Turtle Tavern (attached to Kimball Terrace Inn a couple of times and certainly were not disappointed with the food and service there. We have no regrets about staying at the Kimball Terrace Inn.…
