Detailed Reviews
We came as a family of 6 for 2 nights 3 days.
The pros: All activities(pool, playground, arcade, etc) are all close together. The playground was nice, and the jumping pad was pretty cool. The pool was very clean and warm. Bathrooms/showers were kept clean and tidy.
The cons: Inflatable water slide was never open. The pool is tiny, theres no place to swim when water slides are open. Water slides are only open until 6 and pool closes at 7.. very early for the summer. The ranger station closes at 7 and the office is only open 10-5. It seems once 7pm rolls around everything is shut down. After 7 I never saw 1 person there to talk to if there was a issue. The beach at the lake is very tiny and all of the sites on the lake was marshy, weedy and gross. There are not enough bathrooms at this place, I would recommended putting in some out houses. For our tent site the walk to the bathrooms was unreasonable. The docks were not out in the water to use. The roads around the campground are very bumpy and rocky.

I’ll start it off with some pros. The kids had fun playing with all their friends and family. The hay ride, golf cart parade and foam party were all great for the kids. They liked the pool and the playground but the place was horrible this past weekend. They definitely have gone downhill. Definitely not worth the money they charge. Prices are ridiculous now to stay. $5 for 5lbs of ice, $10 for a bundle of wood (crazy), $80 a day for golf cart that goes 3 mph… When we got to the site there was paper and plastic trash all over it. Had to have one of the guys stop in to rake it all up. Slides at the pool weren’t open when they should’ve been, because of staffing issues I imagine. They are destroying the oldest disc golf course in New England. Someone said it was because they wanted to tear it down for more sites. The course was gross. I’ve never seen it that bad. When you SELECT and PAY up front in February for a SPECIFIC site on their website (for a September trip) but you don’t purchase the $20 lock in fee you can’t have that site. That makes absolutely zero sense. I picked the site I wanted and I paid in advance. Why is there a fee to insure that I get the site I reserved in February?! Couple of our friends had to be moved to other sites because of this. Luckily we paid the fee but we’re no longer going to be near our family because of this. We got put beside the guy who’s been living there all summer who screams at his 3 barking dogs all day all weekend. We’re most likely going somewhere else next season. We usually do a minimum of two trips here every year. It’s too bad. Our friends all say the same thing.

We went with grandkids for a week. The sites are very small. We had a sewer hook up site and it was so narrow that we could not park without having one set of tires on an incline. The whole site slipped downward. There was only one spot that we could park to use our slide, awning, and reach the sewer. Our tt is less than 30’. Our jack broke and they did send someone to help with shoring it up, so we didn’t have to leave. That was much appreciated, but we spent the whole week very unleveled. When it rained, there was a small river under our awning. You couldn’t sit outside, there were so many hornets. Our dog got stung twice and my granddaughter’s 12 yr old friend got stung in the mouth because she was drinking soda out of a can and the can had become a hornet trap. Part of our picnic table was in the bushes because the site just wasn’t large enough to have a table near the awning. Our view was the neighbors sewer hose.
The pool was so crowed, it was standing room only. The kids swam, but it looked too unsanitary for me.
The lake was nice, but you need water shoes. Rocks and little clams. My granddaughter cut her heal pretty bad.
The lady who worked in the camp store was grumpy. I found where they kept the condiments, but there was no mustard. I asked if she had any hidden somewhere she made a big sight and looked where I had already looked.
The store was closed half the time, which meant no mini golf or disk golf. The grill was closed half the time.
The entertainment was good. The kids loved candy bar bingo, but if you don’t bring candy bars camping don’t expect to play. I had bought a whole box and my husband was giving them away to other families that wanted to play but didn’t plan for it before leaving home.
We’ve been coming here for years, but this year was just not fun, starting with the awful site they gave us, by the way, not the one I had reserved. And the crowds, probably due to all the expansions they have going on.
I plan to find another place better maintained with sites that fit a normal tt. If you enjoy crowds, and half a tilting campsite, this place is for you!

My family and I started coming to this campground in 2021 we really enjoy staying here. They are very helpful at getting our sites (3 different ones) all right together when we come a week or two at a time. We love the great upgrades they are working on…excellent bathhouses with included FREE showers and we’ve been told there are more upgrades coming!!! Super excited for these!! Come check them out!! Very child friendly, lots of activities to keep young kiddos busy

I've been going to Beaver Brook for every year for many years now. A couple of years ago, it was bought by Jellystone, and it has only gone downhill. The bar is closed, breakfast is no longer served, the pool slide was never open the whole time I was there, and the bathrooms were rarely cleaned. Not to mention, everything is crazy over-priced. They've raised the price of entry, and lowered the quality of the campground signifigantly. Bring you own food and wood, because they'll charge you an arm and a leg for the smallest amounts of whatever you're buying. And those cabins STILL aren't done being built, even after over 5 years.
Jellystone reported my review and had it taken down. So I'm now reposting it and giving a 1 star instead.

Hello, we're sorry you haven't enjoyed your stay with us! As a newer Jellystone Parkâ„¢, we are doing our best to operate efficiently. Our prices are reflective of what is included in stay, including most of our attractions and activities running daily. We also do have full time bathroom attendants, but due to the excessive amount of rain we've experienced, our grounds can get muddy very quickly. As for bringing your own food, we have the Pic-A-Nic Basket cafe for meals, and Ranger Station for some snacks. Bringing firewood is permitted to stop the spread of invasive pest species--this is to keep our campers safe and healthy. As for the cabins, we started building them last year and they are currently being booked because they are finished. We hope you're able to enjoy your stay more should you ever visit again.

This place was terrible! The staff was uneducated, took forever to check in, paid for visitors in advance, then they were charged again upon arrival. They have no control over "quiet" time and we were kept awake til 2am both nights we stayed. The traffic is ridiculous and unsafe for kids to ride bikes and the pool was constantly so crowded we couldnt use it. Camp store only had one person working at a time and had to wait in a line for 30 minutes. This place needs new/better management immediately!!!

I felt I need to write this after reading so many negative reviews of this place, because we had a blast. The kids did not want to leave! This was our first experience here with our two boys (4 and 9) and another family with similar aged children. We booked a camp site for two nights in August down by the beach and it was perfect - tucked away with a small private sand path to the beach and dock. We had access to electricity and water at our site and plenty of room to setup two large tents and a 12x12 screened room. We rented a golf cart since we were a little ways from the facilities (but really just a short walk), which was helpful when we needed to get there fast. We really enjoyed this place and made some core memories for our kids! Cooking breakfast over open fire, canoeing to an island, meeting Yogi, swimming around a pool, and enjoying ice cream were some of the highlights. The staff were very nice and informative, but also laid back. We weren't looking for a ton of stimulation, just some classic tent camping with some perks. Renting a canoe for half a day was $25 and that was a lot of fun to check out an island. The pool was clean and our oldest loved the slides. The golf cart was fun to drive around and check out other people's setups. The Ranger Station provided some missing items (and hot coffee). Overall, we had a really fun time and will most likely return next year!

My wife and I are proud grandparents that do a lot of activities with our kiddos. This was our first time at JellystonePark. I cannot stress enough how much of a good time that we had and did not want to leave on the final day. I don’t even know where to start. From when we checked in, Joy and Carrie were a tremendous help to us and had so much information,
They got us started for a wonderful vacation. Then we met Andre. He was so nice and friendly and very knowledgeable. Anytime we needed anything he seemed like he was there for us, he was there from early morning …and till we went to bed always willing to help us! We enjoyed all the amenities, and will make this our regular campground! Just to mention a few of the amenities that we enjoyed, the waterslides, the jumping pad, the activities for kids, like tie-dying shirts, and arts and crafts, visits from boo-boo bear was cool, I love the fact that you can purchase a fun pass at a reasonable price.
I would write this higher than five stars if they let me! Thanks again and a big shout out to Andre and staff for giving us an amazing vacation! The kids will never forget! We will be back next year!

I've been coming to this campground for over 30 years dating back to the 90s. It used to be the most amazing campground there was. Back in the day the campground was always full every weekend besides maybe the 300s and a few sites in the 200s and half full during the week days. This place is now a ghost town. Let me tell you why:
-There are more brown tail moth nests than campers (photos in review show large nests in trees)
-The store is there to gouge you. My sister paid $10 for wood that wouldn't burn. A neighboring camper couldnt get it to burn either and I saw a staff member show up at their campsite with a propane blow torch to start their wet wood.
-They wanted $20 for a small snake stuffed animal.
-Dumpsters overflowing with trash while they warn guests of the huge amount of skunks over running the campground.
-Pool slides are almost never open.
-Roads are in disrepair. Management claims they are because of flooding? Bull. They've had all season to fix them. Some of the roads literally have giant stones sticking straight up 3 to 6 inches.
-My mother in law had medical complications so I called to see if they could change our scheduled days or try to rent out our site and shorten our stay. They gave me a resolution then changed it then changed it again. When all is said and done they tried offering me $77 camp credit in exchange for 5 nights I was not able to make it for. I said no and ate the $77 loss just to make sure they couldn't rent my site out and profit more off my family's medical emergency.
-They are not pet friendly. My mother has an 8 pound dog and a lady with binoculars literally was spying into her car to see the dog so she could try to charge her or tell her she couldn't bring the dog in.
-If you want people to visit you they have to pay $20 just to enter the campground as a guest.
-The water is not clean here.
-They stopped renting motor boats and only offer canoes, kayaks and paddleboard. They charge $75 a day for a cheap canoe.
This place only cares about one thing and that's taking your money. The owners are out of touch and have no idea how to run a campground besides running it into the ground. This place is a ghost town and is being abandoned by all of its former regular campers.
The owners should be ashamed at ruining the best campground of my childhood. Go elsewhere for your camping trips. This place sucks.

Hi James, thank you for your review. Our brown tail moth nests are an issue we have been facing for many seasons along with the rest of this part of Maine. We provide information regarding the brown tail moths so our campers are aware prior to booking. Our dumpsters are compacted daily after check out time until they are picked up. We have worked hard this year to improve our roads however due to drainage issues this is often washed away with each rainfall. Our management was able to offer you Camp Credit for a future stay in return for losing the discount when shortening your stay. We apologize for any confusion regarding this. Thank you for your feedback.
