Detailed Reviews
The Tipsy Butler is the wonderful bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at! The owners have thought of absolutely everything down to the smallest detail! The rooms are so spacious and comfortable - especially the beds!! The bathrooms are completely redone and stocked with everything you need, including the most plush bath mats I’ve ever stepped foot on! The breakfast was beyond delicious and the owners were so accommodating to dietary needs. They were very welcoming of our babies, and did everything possible to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The two porches with rocking chairs are the perfect place to hang out with coffee or a beer, overlooking the beautiful Maine scenery. The house is located a 5 minute walk into town! Anyone who chooses to stay here will not be disappointed, and we promise you’ll be sad to leave!!! We can promise you we will be back!

I only have good things to say of the Tipsy Butler. It was an enjoyable stay with excellent service. The time and effort invested in crafting the experience shows in every step.
This old house, beautifully restored, is well located in a quiet but accessible street. We stayed in the Prachett room which was large, clean, and came with a claw-footed iron cast tub. There was also a shower, and a closet with a refrigerator and coffee maker. Flat panel TV and Alexa were provided but we didn't have occasion to use them.
Breakfast was luxurious. In fact we had to ask that the portions be reduced which was a shame because the food was quite tasty. It starts with a small plate of carbs and continues with a large plate of eggs, vegetables, and in our case, a quiche.
I've included photos of the remarkable breakfast.
At last count there were three cats and one dog, who stay on the family side of the house or outside. They are friendly and quite sociable.

My husband and I recently spent two restful, most pleasant nights at The Tipsy Butler. Stephanie was a marvelous host who has taken every need of a traveler into consideration. Pillows and bed linens were high quality, charging cords were provided and fresh flowers were in the room. I loved the architectural features of our room (enlarge picture to see). Breakfasts were a culinary masterpiece and she obviously takes great pride in going above and beyond there, too. I learned that Newcastle is two blocks from Damarascotta if that’s your destination. This B&B is really exceptional!

My room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the bed linens are absolutely dreamy! Stephanie considered my food preferences, and I appreciated the mocktail option she provided in addition to a variety of beers and wines. It’s a short walk to the quaint downtown of Damariscotta but still maintains a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. I can’t wait to stay here again!

We were a group of 5 teachers looking for a weekend getaway and the Tipsy Butler was the perfect place to land! The new owners (as of February 2022) are amazing. Stephanie is a spectacular chef. She arranged for us to have a lobster dinner. Her breakfasts were perfection. The rooms were spotless and the beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The Maine Cuddledown bedding is like sleeping on a cloud. The location was perfect too, we were able to walk right into town and enjoy the Maine life! We will definitely be back!

What a relaxing and well appointed room! We stayed in the Wodehouse room with the king size bed on the first floor. The bed was very comfortable and huge - no problem stretching out. The bathroom and walk through closet area were roomy as well. We loved the creative and delicious breakfasts and the beverage fridge in the dining area. Be sure to check it out. The fridge is stocked with beers and wines at good prices - something to drink after a day out exploring. Thank you, Stephanie, for your suggestions of things to do in the area. It was nice to meet your family and pets. The location is also great. Walk to town in a few minutes or a quick drive.

Just spent 2 nights at the Tipsy Butler. We had a huge room with a king size bed and two comfortable chairs. In addition there was plenty of public space which you were encourage to use. Plenty of games and books were also provided. We were asked what time we wanted to have our breakfast, which was a lovely meal. Jessica was a very great host and gave us some great recommendations on places to eat and things to do. We will be going back the next time we are in the area.

We just finished a three day stay at “The Tipsy Butler” and we had a wonderful stay. We had a very warm greeting from Stephanie and her family. She was very helpful with suggestions for places to explore in the area, places to eat and some local history as well. Stephanie is also a wonderful cook and our daily breakfast enabled us to not even think about lunch. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome into the Mid Coast area. She has many stories of the area and of her home, as it is about 175 years old. With many former owners, there are plenty of stories. Be sure to ask about the “Red Light” in the doorway…. All in all, we cannot recommend this location enough. The rooms were large and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and faced the east, with sunrise coming in the windows. The common rooms looked comfortable and the dining room was very welcoming. When you call for reservations, be sure to ask about the family dog, Daisy. She is very lovable and calm. We hope to return someday.

+1
We had such a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back! Our room was beautiful, and we felt right at home (but even better!). The sauna and ice bath we're definitely a treat. The breakfast that Stephanie made us in the morning was filled with fresh local deliciousness. All in all, it was a wonderful, welcoming stay and we're looking forward to staying there again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tipsy Butler. The room itself was lovely, and there was even a little room for our daughter to sleep attached to ours. Breakfast was delicious, and the attention to detail with presentation was second to none! Jessica made us feel very welcome during our short stay in the area, and we were given great recommendations for dinner. The B&B was a short and easy walk into town, which meant we had plenty of time to enjoy the local pumpkin festival. We would love to stay here again!
