Wonderful weekend stay in May. Stayed in the suite with separate sitting area and two-person soaking tub. Was nice to have some extra room. Also appreciated Tesla charger. Julie couldn’t be more helpful. Excellent breakfast. Older building so some hall noise but not to the point of any problem. Very small TV in sitting area. Large very comfortable 4 poster bed. Walking into Damariscotta and restaurants/shops. Short drive to Boothbay Harbor.

Property's Favorite Review
We spent 3 enjoyable nights at the Newcastle Inn. The Inn is beautifully decorated, breakfast was yummy and the rooms were lovely and very comfortable. Julie, the owner, has planted beautiful flower gardens all over the property and there is a nice view of river. If the weather is nice the large deck provides a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You are close to downtown Damariscotta, which has numerous places to eat and plenty of shops to satisfy any need for retail therapy! The Inn is impeccably clean and Julie goes out of her way to provide a warm and welcoming environment. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night at the Newcastle Inn in a pet-friendly suite. We were thankful that a pet-friendly suite, "Bass Harbor" suite, was offered at this beautiful inn. It is in a lower level of another on-site building with it's own door that makes it easy for pets. Julie the inn-keeper was welcoming and warm and we were made to feel at home. We had a gas stove with visible flames in our room that kept us toasty and provided a nice ambiance. Cable TV and high speed internet were welcome. We felt completely safe in these Covid times - the room was impeccably clean and all cautions were in place around the inn. Breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend the Newcastle Inn and hope to stay here again when the weather is warm enough to eat out on the deck that overlooks the river!

Julie was an incredible, accommodating host and made us feel so welcome at the inn! Providing hospitality during a pandemic is a challenge, yet Julie excelled at this, making us feel safe and comfortable in every aspect of our stay. Our guest room was spotless and cozy and the breakfast she prepared was phenomenal. She put extra care into making us feel at ease. It was a wonderful stay and we’ll certainly visit again soon!

My father, sister, and I stayed four nights at the Newcastle Inn while gathering with other family members and friends in the region. We had the opportunity, due to guest turnover, to experience a variety of rooms and especially enjoyed the Heron Hill room at the "top of the house". Julie was such a great host, helping out with anything we needed, and the breakfasts are beyond excellent. The variations on baked fruits (pears, apples, etc.) during our stay were particularly good (thanks for sharing the recipe!) and Sam was a wonderful server who anticipated my dad's requests and made everything "just so". We also enjoyed the view of the Damariscotta River from the deck and the easy walk from Newcastle to Damariscotta for shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

Dear Roving_Nematolgist, Thank you for review of your stay at Newcastle Inn. We enjoyed having you with us as our guests while you were in the area for a family gathering and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast! Baking fruit always seems to bring out the best that it has to offer. Sam is a wonderful employee and works hard to meet and anticipate what our guests want. I will be sure to share your kind words with her. Thank you again for taking time to share your thoughts. Sincerely, Julie Bolthuis, Owner
