Highly recommend this cozy inn. We stayed overnight on our way to several places in Maine. The hosts were very welcoming. They let us in our room early and made us at home. We were welcomed with freshly made muffins and a tour of the inn. The breakfast was superb. The Inn was cozy, with a historic feel. Yet it had a nicely stocked bar that had a fun feel. I can’t say enough about the hosts. They were wonderful.

As long time visitors to Damariscotta this was the first time we had stayed at the Newcastle Inn, and we will be back for sure. Carolyn and Liz were super helpful during the booking process and were so welcoming in person, we felt at home right away. The inn is peaceful and in a beautiful position overlooking the river which twinkles in the sunshine through the trees. It is an easy walk into town to the shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was served in the light and airy dining room and was excellent, served by two delightful ladies. Even on a very wet day it was very pleasant sitting in one of the public rooms just quietly enjoying the tranquility . The bedrooms are spotless, spacious and very well appointed Thank you Carolyn and Liz.

This was our first trip to the New Castle/Damariscotta area. Delightful Inn, so happy we chose it. Clean, warm welcoming, comfortable beds and well appointed rooms. We were in a suite...just perfect for us. Having brewed coffee available early was a plus and homemade sweets and full breakfast was wonderful. The owners are very accommodating in every way possible. They also have great sitting areas, fireplaces and a beer and wine bar. We will definitely return! Many thanks to Liz and Carolyn. Hosts were very friendly and pleasant. They gave us good suggestions for area restaurants and attractions. The Inn was very comfortable and the common areas were well appointed and cozy. We had one of the smallest rooms, but it had a nice balcony with two chairs and a table overlooking the river. We had snacks out there one evening. Breakfasts were good.

The Inn is charming, the innkeepers delightful and accommodating, the breakfasts a gourmet treat every morning, and the location perfect. Looking out over the bay with the beautiful fall colors was icing on the cake. We will be back!

If your looking to stay in the Boothbay area look no further than the Newcastle Inn. This is the second time we have stayed there and it just can't be beat. Close to Boothbay Harbor on one side and Pemaquid Point Light House on the other the location is just excellent. Accommodation's where Excellent from the time your are greeted at that the door till you leave. They have a sun room that overlook's the river where you can read. Breakfast was very good. The Inn is very close to some great eating places within walking distance to the Inn.

What a wonderful stay. Only there 2 days and wish it had been more. The breakfasts were excellent! The hospitality was amazing. Bed was comfortable. The lounge areas and deck are very comfortable with a view to the water. They also have a bar. It is a vintage house, so if you don’t mind some creaking it is a great place!
