We only stayed for one night but location right on the shore is lovely. Even managed a quick dip in the pool which was appreciated after the long drive from Acadia. The room was fine for one night, only niggle was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. Didn’t enjoy being woken at 4.30 by our neighbours. Breakfast was nice, some items a little over seasoned but the waffle maker was a nice touch. Staff really friendly and helpful.

I was looking for a place where I could get away by myself and spend some focus time writing a novel, and the Newagen Seaside Inn was the PERFECT place to do it. The Inn itself is lovely, with welcoming spaces and gorgeous seaside views. The decor and vibe are predictably nautical, but not too kitschy. It's all big enough to be full service, but not so big that it's bustling. Very Maine, nothing Hampton-y. The staff took great care of all of us, and everyone pitched in to help with whatever I needed. Not once did I hear, "I have to get someone else to do that." Breakfast is included, and the Pub was a great place for dinner. I loved the clam chowder and especially the spicy bacon-wrapped shrimp. I also enjoyed the Tuesday night lobster bake. Not just lobster, but also mussels and chicken, burgers, and dogs for kids and landlubbers. I'll be back for sure.…

Perfect location for a relaxing couple of nights. The view of the ocean from our balcony was amazing. Plenty to do on site for families with small kids especially, but also couples. Would definitely return for a repeat stay.

We loved coastal Maine and knew that was where we wanted to get married and when we found Newagen on a rainy, overcast day, we fell in love immediately. It was quaint, breath-taking, and spacious. We booked very early and for over two years, Maura, was always very quick and kind to respond my never-ending questions. Once the wedding weekend arrived, we were even more blown away. The entire staff was so friendly that guests commented on how amazing they all were. Tiffany executed the day like clock-work and the staff worked so well with all of our vendors. The food was delicious, the grounds were stunning (even on a foggy day), and things ran so smoothly. We can not wait to go back to Newagen to visit and re-live our magical wedding day. Thank you so much to the Newagen team!

We hosted our wedding here in July 2023... We left the weekend overwhelmed with emotion, all of them centered around the gratitude we had for hosting our wedding weekend at Newagen. When we picked Newagen on the rainy and cold November day with everything boarded up for the winter, we had no idea it would become a place that would be filled with all our friends, family, and wonderful staff who made us feel like we were hosting an event at our homes. What I loved most about you all is that you never made us feel like this was just another wedding at Newagen. I felt so special and heard throughout the whole process, and was so amazed how thoughtful you both were. You guys thought of everything, anticipated things we didn't even know we needed. Our family hasn't stopped commenting on the staff; how seamless, attentive, kind, and personable they all were throughout the weekend. It's a place I want to work! We are so thankful for our wedding weekend at Newagen, and it will forever be a place that was the time we were able to throw the party of our lives with our friends and family, and meet and work with a group of people who allowed us to do all of that, plus so much more. …

A high class resort should be at its best from the first to the last day of the season. Some things are unforgivable at a high end Maine resort. An included breakfast without milk or cream for coffee, only cheerios as a cold cereal, few other options on the breakfast buffet does not say great resort. And the coup de gras is the dining room having no lobster or scallops at dinner when hundreds of lobsters are harvested down the street less than 4 miles away. Having a Restsurant lose dinner reservations happens but it shouldn’t. I suspect the owner’s absence led to these overlooked details. Fantastic property and views but be cautious.

We arrived well before official check-in, but there was a room available so we started carrying our luggage up to the second floor. After entering we disappointed by the small size of the room (#101) and returned to the front desk. The friendly/informative individual at the front desk kindly reassigned us to room 103, a much larger accommodation, though it took an hours wait before it became suitable for occupancy. Daily room service is again available and it proved to be very punctual. This is an older facility so don't expect the doors to close or lock gracefully, there are not enough outlets for all your electronic devices and there's not a TV in sight. What will cause you to return year after year as it has us is a glorious setting that seems ever changing as the tide rolls in and out, the day passes from sunrise to sunset, and ever changing weather conditions. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the staff members proved to be very accommodating. The included breakfast was pretty good though there was little variety from morning to morning and a few items went missing over the course of our stay that never returned (e.g. yogurt, jam). We dined at The Pub on our last evening and though there was a wedding reception making demands on the kitchen, we were happy with both the food and service.…

This was our fourth annual visit to Newagen Seaside Inn. We love the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful grounds, the views of the water, the comfortable rooms, the included breakfast, and dinner in the Pub. The excellent staff is attentive. We are already looking ahead to September of ‘23. NOTE: They have weddings almost every weekend. The wedding party takes up the entire property on Friday and Saturday nights, which means that other guests can only rent rooms on Sunday through Thursday nights. A highlight of our September ‘22 visit was the Kennebec River Cruise with Cap’n Fish in Boothbay Harbor (reviewed separately.)

We stayed 4 nights and found the place to be welcoming and warm. Abby's greeting, with her great smiling face, made us feel at home immediately. Place is for those looking to unplug, like we were, so the relaxed no tv in room really lent towards a relaxing stay. Breakfasts were great, dinner in the pub was great, albeit more expensive than we would have liked. Lobster bake was fun! Smores at the evening fire were great. Found it enthralling to learn about Rachel Carson's relationship to the inn. She is one of my heroes. The island is so laid back. Beautiful scenery. Flowers throughout the grounds were gorgeous. The reason I did not give it 5 stars because I (and other guests we chatted with) found the mattress uncomfortably hard. Change that and this place deserves 5 stars. All the staff were great, but Abby stands out with her gracious and fun attitude. We'll be back next year!…

My husband and I had a wonderful stay, celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything from the food, the grounds, to the staff were all exceptional and we would highly recommend and will certainly be back. Our room was modern and cozy w/ a balcony. I would recommend this area of the resort over the older rooms options, where are easy to see on their website. They even have an old-fashioned game room, which we got all to ourselves in the evening. I hope sooner than later, perhaps for a visit in the fall. The food was also delicious, and we are foodies. I am unsure why the poor dining reviews that are most recent. I had the halibut and my husband the sea bass. The apps were not quite as good, but the mains were phenomena, so we didn't think much of it. Drinks were on point too!
