Frommer's Travel Guide said, "It's hard to convey the magnificence of the ocean views, maybe the best of any Inn's in Maine." The open sea, rocky cliffs and thick forest create an enchanting setting for the historic Newagen Seaside Inn, poised on the tip of Southport Island in the heart of Maine's famed Boothbay Harbor region. Make some memories at the newly restored, yet always historic, Newagen Seaside Inn, at the edge of the sea.

This is a great place to unplug and enjoy the natural beauty that Maine has to offer. You are close to Boothbay Harbor and an easy drive to Portland. The Inn staff were very welcoming and courteous. We dinned at the restaurant on site and thoroughly enjoyed the chef's daily

I want to get the cons out of the way (because there are so few and so many pros). The mobile reception is brutal, so be prepared to disconnect (although the wifi is strong so you’re not totally disconnected). The rooms in the main building are quaint – well maintained, VERY

Not sure how to adequately thank you for this - we all nearly cried when we read this! There is no greater reward than to give our guests the kind of experience that you clearly had. Please come back again and again, and if you're ever in need of a job in marketing.....:-)

We enjoyed the quiet and the views from the room as well as walking the grounds. We love Maine and you do it justice. We also appreciate the honoring of Rachel Carson and her connection to hte Inn and to Southport. We were only at the Inn for one night and had family events on

Walking around the exceptional grounds with spectacular water views in several directions. The grounds are fantastic and a real pleasure to explore.

We had a choice between the original main building and the newer two story unit. After looking at the accommodations

I loved my stay here! One of the most beautiful settings I have seen -- my photos from Newagen are my computer wallpaper, and I printed a few for my office, as well. Because it's on an island, you get beautiful views of both the sunrise and sunset. My room was large (I was in

Cancelation fees are extremely common, especially at smaller, independent inns and B&Bs. They help cover credit card fees incurred in issuing the deposit refund, time spent processing the cancelation, and lost revenue opportunity. Our policy is clearly stated on the "check availability" section of our website and on our confirmation letter. If you tell me how you booked your reservation, I can direct you to where the policy is detailed. Please feel free to email me at clarson@newageninn

While we are indeed dog lovers, we are a dog-free property and would be happy to help you with reservations at a local kennel.

Hi Jim! Thanks for your question. We do have an 11 passenger shuttle that runs on a regular schedule during July and August. There are generally four trips to the harbor during the day, and we can also make a run to local attractions on demand (e.g. the botanical gardens or aquarium) if the shuttle driver is available. We try to be as flexible as possible so that you don't have to deal with downtown parking. Hope that helps!

Dear Seaglass7, Unlike other resorts we do not charge a resort fee or service charge. Breakfast is included for up to 6 in Starfish and you also have access to all amenities (saltwater pool, row boats, tennis courts, vintage game room, walking trails) and all midweek activities such as Movie Night, Fireside Tales, Whiffle ball and Polar Plunge. Rooms are based on double occupancy (2 guests), Evergreen and Bayberry cottages are based on quad occupancy (4 guests) and Starfish is based on 6 guests. Above those occupancy numbers, there is a $25 per night charge for guests 7 years of age and up. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact us anytime. Kind regards, Jason Schlosser General Manager
