I have been going here for most of my life and I love it. You can do so much or nothing at all. The best part is there is no way for your job to get in contact with you unless you go up to the porch of the office and you still only get WiFi. Your cell will work up by the Ice cream stand in town. If you want to get away from it all this is the place.

We decided to visit New Harbor without too much pre-planning and we were lucky to get a rental at the last minute. These cottages are located on a working harbor and the view is like a picture post card. There are 10 cabins, but there is enough distance between them so that you don't feel crowded. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Each cottage has a deck and chairs to enjoy the view and cool salt air. The cottages are old but clean and well stocked. Quaint is the word that comes to mind. The walls are knotty pine and the furniture comfortable, though slightly worn. You can bring your own sheets and towels or pay extra for that service. You can use the cottage's kayaks and life jackets and paddles are provided. It has it's own dock to launch from or just sit on to enjoy the view. There are two places to eat within walking distance as is the Hardy Boat Tours dock. The beach is a 5 minute drive, as is the local general store It's a 10 minute ride to the Pemaquid light house area, which is very beautiful. The rates are reasonable compared to other area rentals. There is no tv or cell service and all 10 cottages share one wireless router. That aspect was a bit frustrating but it forces you to just unplug and enjoy the serenity! Gus the cat has his own crossing sign and visits from time to time. We are definitely going back.

These are lovely, clean cabins with spectacular, sunny views of the harbor. The host, Belinda, is so cheerful and accommodating, making sure you are comfortable and have everything you need, including maps of the area and listings of restaurants and activities. My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom which was perfect. Very quiet, with beautiful views of the lobster boats coming into the harbor every evening. We enjoyed kayaking around the boats off the private dock, and took the tour boat to Eastern Egg Island to view the puffins. The cabins are close enough so you can walk to the ferry boats leaving for this tour as well as Monhegan Island. We think this is the most beautiful area of Maine, and feel so fortunate to have been able to stay here. Beautiful spot, beautiful grounds, and plenty to do nearby. Also enjoyed the historic Fort William Henry and the Pemaquid Lighthouse. We feel so fortunate to have spent a week here - hoping to return!

Cottages on the water with wonderful views and home-like amenities. We stayed during the summer with family in and out of town (all family used to stay on site the entire week together) and with teenagers and adults alike, we loved the quiet, the privacy, the lack of cell service, the "to the porch" wireless and limited engagement with the outside world (no TV or computers). The cottages are quaint but packed with all that you need and Brenda and her family are absolutely wonderful. A perfect place to unplug and just enjoy Maine for what it has to offer. Very quick drive to main attractions also!

We had the Osprey cabin. It was perfect--two bedrooms, nice kitchen, large living room. The view from the windows is perfect. These are the sweetest little 50's style cabins with the best view that we have ever seen!! Prices great, friendly hostess. Love, love this place!
