Stayed in August 2015, we had a great couple of days. Hospitality was fine and breakfast enjoyable each day. Each room shares a bath, but no problem. Home was clean. Wi-Fi is free but poor connectivity.

We stayed 3 days at this sweet, comfortable B&B. The owners of this beautiful, historical house managed to preserve the atmosphere of the past with antique furniture and original wood floors, yet modern additions improve lighting and space. The house and yard provides spectacular views and beautiful sunsets overlooking the harbor. The front yard was available for relaxing, reading and...

I doubt there are any places to overnight on the magical Monhegan Island that are less than stellar. The John Sterling Harbor House offers charm and ease. It is the first Inn on the left as you carry your well-chosen belongings up the hill. Susan is a lovely hostess, serving up morning ambrosia and island stories that are nourishing for...

We'd been to Monhegan before (for a full week), but this trip had to be shorter. We stayed for three nights at this charming, comfortable B&B and were delighted at how warmly we were greeted by Susan, the hostess, and how welcome she made us feel. The breakfasts were delicious and quite ample. And given our limited time, it was...

After only 2 nights I felt at home, relaxed & wanting to stay longer. Susan is lovely & proved to be the perfect, gracious host. She cooked delicious breakfasts, was around just enough and made myself & friends feel at ease & welcome. Our rooms & shared spaces were clean, up to date, simple & cozy. I would recommend the...

While the tiny island of Monhegan is but 12 miles off the bold coast of Maine it is a majestic respite from the pace of life that runs at the speed of electrons. Step off the ferry onto the pier where peace-seekers have come for generations and feel the decompression. Stay a few days, or more, and the effect will...

The John Sterling Harbor House was our answer to a delightful week-end stay on Monhegan Island off the Maine coast. Susan was the perfect hostess, warm and friendly. Mark, her husband, keeps the place looking sharp. She serves bountiful and delicious breakfasts. The place is decorated with good taste and has a nice rustic look. It also happens to be...

We absolutely loved this place! Fantastic location, very friendly and accommodating hostess, perfect place to stay if you want the view but don't want to spent too much - ideal for young couples. We stayed there one night in late September and had an amazing time. The island of course is incredible, and staying at the John Sterling Harbor House...
