We had 3 days unexpectedly free during our vacation and decided to take a few days and hike in Baxter park. Rather than trying your typical hotel or one of the many cabin places we tried this hostel and rented the family suite for us an our two girls. The family suite has its own entrance on the opposite side... More

Friendly and well-located, this lodge was a comfortable place to stay at the end of my journey. The staff run shuttles to Baxter SP and nearby towns. Just up the road is the Appalachian Trail Cafe, which I'm told they also own and which has great food. The lodge has a more economical dorm as well as private rooms. There's... More

Paul and staff were helpful for our stay. They help out with whatever is reasonable. Remember, they are being asked to help almost every person there. Whether you're in the bunk house or a private room, enjoy. Have patience, enjoy the hikers, and enjoy.

Super friendly people, they'll help you in whatever way they can! Especially sorting out gear issues etc. The comon area with TV could be a bit bigger but nevertheless i enjoyed my stay very much! It's also really close to restaurants AND the icecream truck ;) !!

Nice private room for couple. Ask for the Springer room overlooking the street. Also bunk rooms for those traveling solo. Helpful and friendly and knowledgable staff. Great package deals for shuttling to the trail.

I recent finished my NOBO thru hike of the AT with a couple other hikers. We met 'Ole Man' (I think that's what he goes by) at the ranger station before we summited Katahdin earlier in the day. He seemed like a nice man and turns out was the father of another thru hiker who owns and runs another hiker... More

This last minute find was a lovely surprise. In order to drop off my friend's son to do a solo Thru- SoBo hike - we needed the Family Suite as we had driven up from NJ (11+ hours) and needed a place to sleep the night before dropping him off to Baxter State Park on Saturday morning. Upon arrival -... More

My Scout Troop hiked the 100 mile wilderness. We stayed at the lodge before and after the hike, they service was great. They provided rides, food drop offs and pick up several of our folks at different locations. The lodge is clean and beautiful. The food at the AT cafe is excellent.

My wife, a friend of ours, and her children visited Millinocket for 2 days and stayed in the AT Lodge's "family suite." It had everything we needed, a full kitchen and refrigerator, futons for the kids to sleep on, air conditioning and ceiling fans, nice bathroom, wi-fi, and very clean upon arrival. Our host, Paul, gave us plenty of information... More

I went with my two teenagers to explore Maine, which we had never been to. After a beautiful time meandering up the coast from Portland to Bar Harbor, I had no plans for the last 3 days. Took out a map and wanted to see the interior of Maine and what better would be Baxter State Park where the Appalachian... More
