Waiting a day for adjacent Katahdin Air float plane flight over the outback, I discovered that Laurie Cormier has developed a quality establishment with an opportunity to explore Katahdin environs. Father and son climbers at the bar happened to be from my hometown! Breakfast and

An excellent place to stay when you're planning to visit Baxter State Park. Big Moose Inn has helpful, friendly staff. They have an early (5AM) continental breakfast (included in room fee) which is helpful if you plan to get an early start climbing Katahdin as a day hike.

We stayed at one of the campsites. We were in the area to go rafting. The site size was great, we had 7 people in 2 ground tents and 1 tent in the back of our truck. There was WiFi at the inn and there was a small trading post for souvenirs and essentials.

I rented a sleep cabin with my mother for our annual hiking trip. We always look for a place with some comforts of home but with the intent of being outside 90% of the time. We LOVED our stay at Big Moose. Our little cabin was clean and well stocked. It was tucked away next

The weather in Maine is quite finicky especially hiking Katahdin. So be prepared for all weather. I do believe this is the closest Inn to the park. We stay here to go white water rafting also seeing how this is the hub for most of the rafting companies. Great food, drinks, location and accommodations. Two restaurants on site and a convenience store/ gas station on location. Fuel is expensive out here so your best bet would be to fill up in town. A lake on either side of the road to soak your feet in after a good hike. There are campgrounds closer to the park. But after a long day of play we like to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the quaint Inn.

Hi! We were there last late sept only 8 miles to tongue pond entrance. I'd have to look up how far to katahdin steam from there.

Well, I can't imagine anyone there being rude. Did folks sign up as a single guest and then share the room with someone else? They should appropriately be charged for the additional person. That is ianppropriate and dishonest. This is a great place!! Smarten up!!
