Wasn't sure what to expect. Doesn't look fancy, but the owners pay great attention to detail. Room was spotless, appliances were all modern, and staff was very helpful. Not sure I could have found a better deal for the price. Highly recommended!

We were in the Machias area to do some hiking. We were going to camp, but in mid October we were concerned about the threat of rain at night and it being a bit cold. I was worried about staying at a "Route 1 Motel" but every preconceived notion I had about what the Bluebird Motel might have been went...

Nice staff, older buildings, little small, but nothing wrong with that. Many updates, heat pumps in every room, direct tv, desk, clean beds/rooms. I recommend this motel. The motel uses real keys, not key cards that are disposable. So be mindful of that not to lose them.

The level of service was more than excellent. The room was comfy, very clean and the staff was attentive and warm hearted. We had a room in the back, which made it very quiet. I am only sorry we didn't stay at the Bluebird before, while visiting family in Washington County. We will be sure and visit it in the...

The Bluebird has been our place to stay in this pretty town for 21 years - warm and friendly, family oriented (pets welcome, too), with all the conveniences we need for a comfortable stay - kind, helpful and considerate owners and staff - an excellent example of Downeast hospitality - we'll be back! The Bluebird Motel is conveniently located, within walking distance of several stores and a super market; three restaurants are within a five-minute drive; and the motel is reasonably priced. The clean room has a fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, comfy beds with ample covers, comfy pillows, a free bottle of water per guest, and many channels on DirecTV. We...

Enjoyed the Bluebird. The staff is friendly and rooms are well appointed. With free WiFi and direct TV it is as close to home as possible. Close to UMM and if you need a quick bite or coffee Tom's Mini mart is next store. Thanks for a great stay.

Not much to say, this place was decent but not exceptional. Everything was scrupulously clean and they had the standard amenities (free wifi, fridge and microwave, coffee maker with coffee and tea, DirecTV, free water).

Right on Route 1, conveniently next to a gas station, grocery store and dollar store, this motel is really nice. Clean, comfey bed, microwave and complimentary water in fridge. I stayed in the back and didn't hear any road traffic. Yes, this is a good place to stay. No complaints.

Looks a little sketchy as its an old style roadside motel. However, that said, the room was large, clean and had relatively new furnishings. Room was under $100 and provided easy access to Machias. Short ride to restaurants, fast food and Walmart. Just a few miles from the University.
