My husband and I were so pleased with our room, it was all newly renovated and fresh and clean. The bed were comfy, and the owners left us with a hand written note card with phone number contacts and the weekend weather report. Just so thoughtful. There is also a cute firepit area where we went after a day of exploring to had a glass of wine and met some other wonderful travelers. It's lovely, quite and a great price. Thank you so much. Very clean and comfortable. The beds are very soft and comfy but hubby complained of the scent in sheets ( bleach, I think). This was our second stay this year and we hope to get at least one more before the year ends. Easy access to ATV trails so if that's what you are looking for, this place is an excellent choice.
Nice clean room - just the type of place we were looking for when choosing this inn. Not the best view but nice quiet rooms. Request for assistance was promptly handled. Good local restaurants available.
I was looking for somewhere to stay close to Cobscook Bay State Park because I had friends camping there for the week. The Inn is about 1/2 hour drive to the park. The room was perfect! It was very clean and well appointed. The refrigerator had bagged ice in the freezer a pleasant surprise. The thank you card was a very nice touch. The inn is set back off the road so you don’t hear road traffic. Rooms have been updated and are comfortable. Thank you for a pleasant stay. Michelle East Longmeadow MA.
Our room was great, and everything looked brand new. Was very comfortable and clean and very well maintained. Very quiet location and no one above or below you to make noise. We had 2 queen beds, frig, coffeemaker and the owners left us a small bag of ice, so thoughtful. It was a great 2 nights!
My wife and I recently stayed at the Margarita Inn, and from opening the door for the very 1st time we were very pleased with our choice. Not only was the room extremely clean and already cool, (we were experiencing an unseasonably hot stretch of weather), there was even a handwritten, “Thank You”, note upon arrival. Do not mistake this establishment for your typical, “motel’. The rooms are beautifully updated, and is conveniently located to Cutler and Lubec. We will absolutely be back, thank you Brecken for a very pleasant stay. Michael and Melissa Coons Elm Street Photography, Milo, Maine.
We stayed for for one night and arrived later than expected. They kindly put ice in our freezer and left the cutest note in the room! Brecken and Keirstin are so thoughtful and lovely. Thank you!!! :)
We had been driving for 8hours coming from Rhode Island and didn’t make reservations ahead of time, we passed one motel on the outside of town and didn’t think we should stay there so we stopped at the Machias River Inn to be greeted by a nice man who said they were sold out but HIGHLY recommended you (the margaretta Inn) we spoke with Brecken who is the manager and one of the owners and she was able to get us a room and sent all our information right to our phone. The next day we decided to stay another night and explore the coast a little more..when we came back we were greeted by Brecken and her Fiancé Ryle who happened to be the nice gentleman who recommend the inn to us. Turns out it is a family affair, they manage 3 out of the 4 lodging in places in town. They truly have a gift when it comes to hospitality because we felt like family. How incredible for this couple to take on three properties at their age and to do it with so much grace. My wife and I were amazed, we will tell everyone about this place and their other properties because I know without a doubt each property gets the attention it needs because these two. Jaspers beach is a must!…
As many others have noted this is a clean and comfortable motel, on the far end of town but still very well-located to access (by car or bike) Machias' features (don't miss Bad Little Falls at the other end of town, or, a mile from the inn you can access a very pretty part of the Sunrise Trail and Helen's Restaurant). Moderately sized, comfortable room with all the modern motel amenities. With staffing shortages everywhere, they provided self check-in and made it easy to reach a responsive staffmember by phone if needed. Even with some setback it's closer to busy Route 1 than we anticipated, but not noisy in the room.
I'll be honest and say that we don't typically stay in motel-style places, but the Margaretta Inn was in the exact location we wanted to be during our fall foliage road trip and the pictures and reviews looked promising. We took a chance and we could not have been happier that we did! We got a text when the room was ready with details on how to get into our room if the office was closed when we got there. The room was so clean, modern, and really beautiful. To top it all off, there was a handwritten thank you card from the managers waiting for us when we arrived. I cannot recommend the Margaretta Inn enough and would 100% stay here again.
