The campground is family friendly, clean organized and the staff is incredibly helpful. The campground is a little crowded, but sites are large enough, and neighbors are all friendly. There's always some activities planned by the staff.
Absolutely perfect for our family, very family oriented! The staff was awesome to work with. Kids crafts every Saturday! Cafe was so good, and easy to order! The beach/water was so clean and easy to navigate! DOG FRIENDLY!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this campground. We had a tent site that was really nice - flat and level. There were several walking paths and some nice areas with docks at the lake. The staff were friendly. The prices are reasonable. The other campers were friendly. Family atmosphere - no loud, wild party types. We really had a good time here.
My wife and I booked our stay from June 28th to July 6th of 2021. This is a secluded campground about a mile down a dirt road on a beautiful clear water lake. When you arrive at the office/store/grill you notice a well stocked store and grill that offers a lot of food choices. The folks were friendly and directed us to our site, R18B. I thought this was a mistake because the online map just showed R18. Someone decided to cut R18 in half along with two other sites behind us, T08 which has a T08B and T09 which has T09B now. Our camper was 10 to 15' away from four other campers. When you stood outside you could hear your neighbors moving around inside their campers. I had to park my truck so my door would open on one side of the camper A frame or the other so I was off the road. I found myself apologizing to my neighbors several times feeling that I invaded their privacy. I couldn't figure out how you or your neighbor could have a campfire safely. As you went to walk around your camper be careful of the 2" waterline ran on top of the ground, its quite a trip hazard. Our AT&T phone service worked for cell and text only by the water and the internet not at all. So they offer access to internet for a fee from an outside provider. It would have cost us $26 for the week but we had so much trouble signing up for it, Phil waved the fee which I appreciated. Phil and April do a great job of managing this place. I saw Phil making his rounds on a golf cart in pouring rain and 57 degree temperature a few times. We were here through the 4th of July weekend. There was loudspeaker info for things to do for kids. They organized a parade with veterans leading the way, kids followed on decorated bikes and some folks built a couple floats. Later there was a band in the lodge and that evening they had fireworks from a barge in the water. It was awesome. Our first two days it was very hot. There's a beautiful beach were the kids were swimming all day long. To me, the way the campers are crammed in ruins this place. This campground is really for the seasonal folks. They have normal size campsites were you could actually have a visitor park at your campsite and a camp fire. We left a day early and we wont be back. It was a very uncomfortable stay...…
Phil and April are like scolding parents. Punishing you for what someone else does. Ridiculous Long story and too disgusted to give details The campsite itself is lovely and right on the lake with boat slips available to rent.
Such a wonderful, friendly, family oriented hidden gem on the lake!!! As a female who has camped at numerous campgrounds state run and privately owned, you will NEVER find a place with cleaner bathrooms than the Birches! The owners and staff go out of their way to help you... I cannot forget to mention their docks! We recently docked our boat at another place on the lake.. huge mistake! The Birches is where you and your boat need to be! I am a diva so this speaks volumes!
Every year several of us women gather together. We are a “tribe” of survivors and perseverers that grow stronger when we are together. Birches Lakeside Campground is the perfect place to do just that. Fun in the sun and laughter galore. Staff and management make it easy to relax and enjoy all that this campground has to offer. We will be back again and again.
You know it is wonderful if we fly our entire family in from Florida every summer!! This is a place where children can be children: safe, clean and so many fun activities! We adults have fun as well - it’s a campground, but the owners and staff go so far out of their way to anticipate any need. Summer like it should be!!
The Birches is a very family friendly campground with many amenities and a lot of fun there is something for everyone Themed weekends like Christmas in july access to an amazing lake, crafts, great food horse shoes games and beach life for all kid friendly, animal friendly, people friendly. You would fee like life and daily stress melts away as you drive through the gate. Highly Recommend Barbie Walker
This campground is primarily for seasonal "campers" with RV's. We wanted a quick getaway for a tenting experience. We were told they had new "wilderrness" tent sites and being backpackers and lovers of wilderness we opted for one of them. The "road' had obviously just been bulldozed barely wide enough for one car. The sites were not inviting......small, buggy, not flat. We asked to be moved to the campground and were able to. The site was fine but loud and the campground very conjested.. It had not been cleaned as there were cigarette butts on the ground and trash in the firepit. This was disappointing as it was $35 a night to slap a tent up. The beach and location are lovely but the experience was not for us.
