We were greeted to an amazing smell of Baking when we arrived and this set the tone for our entire stay. Caroline (the owner) was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxing place to stay.

My wife and I stayed one night in the Victorian Suite, and made an immediate new friend of Caroline Cole, Innkeeper. She is warm and engaging, interested in her guests, and revealing of her own rich experiences as both Swiss and American. We enjoyed a splendid breakfast this morning: fresh fruit with granola served in a parfait dish, freshly baked homemade scones, and a personal sized quiche made with whole organic milk, fresh crab and locally sourced vegetables and eggs. Caroline was very attentive of our needs, but not intrusive. The bed was very comfortable. The Inn is a huge ca. 1890 seaside summer mansion/cottage built by a wealthy Boston family and has most of its original features intact; it was spotless and well cared for. A quiet retreat, no TV but strong wi-fi for those who have to have their devices.

Imagine the most warm, welcoming and attentive host you can and then add some more charme and you'll get Caroline! She and her staff will attend to all your needs and make you feel really special, welcome and instantly at home. The moment you enter this house, you will feel as if time slows down. The house and the whole property are diligently cared for, each room, each meal, each flower arrangement a little work of art of its own, made with so much love that it spreads magically into the atmosphere of the place. The three-course breakfast is something to look forward to every single morning, consisting of handpicked, local farm-to-table ingredients, beautifully arranged and very tasty. The garden and veranda invite you to relax and unwind, and the beautiful, elegantly decorated rooms with fireplaces and bathtubs are so cozy you'll find yourself hoping for a rainy day to stay in. Within driving distance of 5 minutes up to max. 1,5 hours you'll find high-quality restaurants, nice little shops, Atlantic beaches, lakes to swim in, hills and cliffs to climb, the beautiful New England landscape with its lovely houses and the impressive Acadia National Park with its endless hiking routes and awe-inspiring views. We fell in love with this place and can only recommend it to anyone. There is not a single thing to complain about. Thank you, Caroline!
