My wife and I chose The Inn at Ocean’s Edge to stay at (and most of our guests) when we were hosting our wedding at The Edge (separate venue) next door. We cannot say enough great things about this inn!! First of all every single room was STUNNING. We first stayed in the poolhouse suites, which were gorgeous, private, spacious, clean, and the absolute PERFECT place for a bridal suite the morning of a wedding!! The second room we stayed was a more “basic” option on the ground level of the main building… it was still one of the most glamorous pristine perfect hotel rooms we have ever stayed. We had the pleasure of seeing a few other rooms from our bridal party and they were all just as stunning and perfect. The breakfasts that are included are incredibly delicious. Absolutely better quality than you can find in most of the local diners. We got to choose what type of eggs, pancakes, fruit, sides, juices, etc etc. Every single thing was delicious!! Any time we needed help with anything the staff were all friendly and kind. Every staff member was a pleasure to work with (and deserves a bonus)!! We received extra help from Lisa and Mark who were so kind and made us feel right at home. As if all of this wasn’t enough, the grounds are the most beautiful I have seen in any hotel. Right on the water, pristine gardens, perfect infinity pool, and super hot hot tub! We also enjoyed the sauna and freely available pool towels. Thank you everything- we will DEFINITELY be back for our anniversary!!

Dear portiab738, Thank you for the wonderful, comprehensive review of the Inn. We genuinely appreciate the recognition of our team and their friendly and helpful hospitality. Your family and friends all seemed to enjoy their stay; they were also incredibly thoughtful, polite and kind to our staff. As you mentioned, we pay attention to details, especially important to the cleanliness of our guest rooms and the entire property. The ocean view rooms are contemporary with clean lines and crisp white bedding, and a color palette that reflects the peacefulness and natural beauty of our surroundings. There are many breakfast options as you stated along with daily chef specials so there is always variety for our guests. The combination of the spectacular views of Penobscot Bay, the amazing Infinity pool and pristine gardens all contribute to our unique and special spot in the Midcoast. We wish you and Nicole much happiness and hopefully you will return to the Inn to celebrate many future anniversaries. Congratulations! Mark Phillips General Manager

Spoiler alert: it will be better than you possibly could have imagined. The website doesn’t do this amazing place justice. The inn is situated in a stunning and serene setting on West Penobscot Bay. The rooms are large and comfortable with fireplaces. The a-la-carte breakfast offers something delicious for everyone. The staff are friendly and accommodating, they did some serious juggling to help us secure another night’s stay. The infinity pool, hot tub and pool house with sauna are to die for. Upon arriving here we were welcomed with a warm hello and cookies and coffee/tea. We knew within 5 minutes that we’d want to stay longer. There are no drawbacks to this place, it was a truly wonderful experience and we’ll be back for sure.

Dear Nina D, Thank you for the amazing review of the Inn. We agree that photos don't always capture or convey the natural beauty, stunning views and serenity. Our breakfast choices are varied, and there is "something delicious" for everyone. Thank you for appreciating the team's efforts to help make an additional night stay possible for your family. You are correct that we are constantly juggling to accommodate guest requests, especially this unusually busy season. It is a tribute to our team that you knew in minutes that this was a special place and that you wanted to stay longer. Most importantly, we are thrilled that your experience was memorable and that you will return. Hopefully, we will see you next season. Regards, Mark Phillips General Manager

My husband and I had a reservation to stay four night here in September, 2021. Due to illness, we had to cancel. The staff was incredibly accommodating in helping us to cancel our reservation and return our deposit. I hope that we can stay at the Inn as soon as we are back to good health.

the staff was aloof and made you feel like they were doing you a favor. not worth the price. no housekeeping. get your towels for the room at the desk. room not clean. the young kids that worked there tried to be helpful and are much appreciated, but that was inconsistent and they lacked authority. the breakfast was nice but early and over. they let the people who rented the less expensive units off site use the very limited parking reserved for the main inn during the day. this made it impossible to find parking during the day and certainly no handicapped parking. it felt like a struggle instead of the luxury inn it once was. We have stayed there each summer for many years and witnessed its decline.

Dear hjilawdoc, We appreciate hearing about our guests' experiences at the Inn, however, we are surprised by your review. It is our recollection that our team was incredibly helpful daily during your stay and with several phone discussions prior to your arrival. Our dedicated staff work incredibly hard to help create a memorable visit. Our computerized reservation system shows only two other stays in 2012 and 2019. We are confused by your comment that you have stayed at the Inn for many years and therefore, seen a decline. We are lucky that most of our Guest Service team has worked here for 6 years or more; they are all well-trained, dedicated and experienced. Also, if additional guidance is needed, there are always two managers available for guests to speak with every day. To the best of knowledge, there were no complaints. Please note that since your initial stay in 2012, there was a major renovation in 2015, followed by yearly investments to maintain and upgrade the property. It is almost universally reviewed by guests that our Inn is immaculate, and the rooms are spotless thanks to our amazing housekeeping crew. All rooms have towels prior to arrival. During COVID, our housekeeping operations have changed to comply with recommended CDC protocols and for the safety of our guests and staff. Guests have a choice to either request daily service or request amenities (including towels) daily using our convenient “door tag” system. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 – 10am. There is a handicapped parking space at the Main Inn, where you parked during your stay. Not only are there 3 parking lots available for guests, but there are also no “offsite rooms/guests” at the Inn that you alluded to. More importantly, our hospitality is the same for all guests regardless of the rooms they reserve or the amount they pay. Mark Phillips General Manager

This inn is a clean, friendly place to spend time near the water. The location is very nice for boating, history and beautiful forests. The negative edge pool and setting on the water make the setting relaxing and beautiful.
