I stayed for 2 nights in December at this property for a business trip. What struck me upon arrival was that as I walked in the room, the TV was welcoming my arrival in person! Such a small but impactful detail! I really loved how updated the technology was at this hotel, not to mention the cleanliness and amazing staff! I will absolutely be back and hopefully next time on vacation!
Surrounding looked safe and felt clean. Staff is friendly. Room is clean, well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was good with hot and cold items. Our room had water view. We can see the canal and people on canoes. Pretty neat.
Fantastic staff. Great breakfast and overall wonderful experience. There is so much to do in the area. We had a ton of fun at the conference. The hotel looks brand new and the rooms are well appointed.
I stayed here for a work trip for 2 nights and it was the best hotel to stay in for my first ever trip to Maine. The staff was beyond friendly, the rooms were clean and organized. Although the rooms weren't as modern as other hotels, the rooms didn't feel outdated or dingy. I felt so comfortable. There is so much to do around the town and the surrounding area. It is absolutely beautiful. 10/10 recommend. Would stay again.
This is a great hotel in the area with good location and friendly staff. It is close to some dining places including brewery. Easy to locate, good breakfast options and also clean room and public space
Great room. However I stayed in room 206 which was on the major highway side and across the road from a parking garage and was VERY NOISY. just make sure to stay on the back parking lot side. Room service and breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Everything else was satisfactory.
When we were looking to book a hotel for our trip to Maine, we found hotel prices to be very expensive...$400 and up for rooms in Portland, 250-300+ for rooms outside Portland but near the coast. We chose this hotel as the rate was under $200 per night and Hampton Inns are usually a solid choice. Lewiston was a decent base for our travels...took about 40 minutes to drive from hotel to Portland Head light....about an hour from the hotel to Boothbay...40 minute drive to see the Capitol in Augusta via Route 202 (the drive would have been shorter if we had taken I-95) so we were able to go to the places we wanted to go. Hotel is located on the edge of Downtown Lewiston....while we did see some homeless people in the area, we never felt unsafe. There are only a handful of restaurants that are within walking distance, so we drove for our dinner 3 of the 4 nights....on one night we walked across the bridge to Auburn and ate at a nice brewpub (Gritty Mcduff's) in Auburn. There are a number of good restaurants within a 5-15 minute drive of the hotel. There is also a very nice River walk that you can enter across the street from the back of the hotel, you can cross over to Auburn and walk the Riverwalk they have on their side. As for the hotel, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. We don't know when this hotel was built but we noticed the room furniture was starting to show signs of wear and tear. We also noticed one of the pillowcases was stained...we didn't report this we just didn't use that particular pillow. Other than that the room appeared clean, it had 2 queen beds that were comfortable, a fridge, microwave and large flat screen tv (but not a large channel selection). We felt the room was a bit cramped but the 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child) were able to manage. the hotel website claims that they have a "heated" indoor pool but the pool is not heated at all. The water was ice cold. The first 2 days we used the pool we just dealt with the cold water...but on the 3rd day we had enough so I used the phone in the pool area to call the front desk and ask if the water temperature could be adjusted. The clerk told me that it would be impossible and there was nothing they could do about the pool temperature. I reminded the clerk that their website advertised a heated pool and the clerk responded again "there is nothing that we can do about it". I asked "why not?", she responded "as I told you, there is nothing we can do about it. I will report it to the general manager"....the clerk's tone made it pretty clear she didn't want to hear it. On a positive note, the pool area was clean and had plenty of fresh towels. Hotel offers the standard Hampton Inn breakfast of 2 hot items (one is scrambled eggs or omlette, the other is a breakfast meat) with assorted yogurts, fruits, cereals, pastries and bread items. We did the free breakfast twice and ate out the other 2 mornings. Hotel has free parking but only has limited number of spots at the hotel...most of the parking is in a lot that is across the street from the back of the hotel. If you're looking to save money and content with an decent hotel, this will be a good choice. If you're looking for high end accommodation and/or something close to the Maine coast, you should look elsewhere but be advised you may have to pay a much higher rate.…
Clean, comfortable, convenient…our sizable room on the fourth floor had two beds and a view of the river. Staff was very courteous. We arrived in the midst of a neighborhood power outage, which was a good excuse for a nap. The included buffet breakfast offered ample choices - nothing fancy, but all good! We enjoyed the nearby Fish Bone Grill for dinner. It’s within walking distance. Lewiston is a former mill town, not a vacation destination. Other guests at the hotel were on “The Maine College Tour” = Bates, Colby, Bowdoin, etc.
Very clean, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Very quiet. We had no trouble at all. The kids loved the pool, it was nice and clean. I wish we could have stayed longer. I will definitely stay here again.
This hotel is really wonderful. I stayed here a few weeks ago with my husband and also this past week again with my husband. Under not the best circumstances of trying to get my stolen car back but a great hotel to make the trip much better! Sami at the front desk is absolutely wonderful. She was there during both stays. And the breakfast is fabulous I love the fresh fruit and different egg and meat choices as well. Really a high quality place and if I ever find myself around this area again for a third time I would definitely stay here! The pool was also very nice and enjoyable. Nothing bad to say at all about this hotel. Thank you for having rooms available so close to NYE also! Always a pleasure staying at this hotel.
