Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Our room was on the street side and the truck traffic was loud at times during the night.Dawn was friendly and greeted us each afternoon on our return from skiingWe ate dinner across...

Wow! Filled with people from all different backgrounds and areas, the Herbert really IS the "come-together" place. We had a ball mixing and mingling with other skiers and snowboarders and -- consider this -- they EVEN have a room filled with 3,000 books that guests can choose and take! REALLY??!! Yes, REALLY.

Decided to head to Kingfield on short notice to do a couple days of skiing. This hotel is a circa 1900 building that when you walk in its like a step back in time! The victorian era oak and chestnut wood work is one of a kind. Rooms are small and clean and the really tried to keep the old...

As soon as I walked in the lobby I was overwhelmed by the amount of warmth I felt! Me and my wife with our 2 kids realized that the hotel was like a trip back in time we loved it. I was automatically welcomed by the staff in a very positive way and our whole stay there was amazing. So...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for early season skiing at Sugarloaf. The hotel is different (good way) than anywhere else I have ever stayed. It is like taking a step back in time. The lobby has this amazing feel of warmth to it. We spent two nights and loved mingling with the other guests before dinner. The room was...

We stayed overnight at the Herbert Grand on our way to Maine from Canada and discovered the grand and gracious lobby. Our expectations, however, did not quite materialize when we reached our room. The linens and curtains had a second-hand feel and look and while the furniture was old it appeared worn and in need of some TLC. The Herbert...

The entrance and lobby of the Herbert is stunning. Luxury from a bygone age calls to you from the drapes and the seating, and the antique decorative touches. The onsite manager is very friendly, and happy to oblige. But we had a room which was small, and under-equipped. On request, the manager brought us some stands where we could put...

Stayed here for a night on the way through to Canada. Such a charming building and wonderful rooms. One of the rooms unfortunately had super thin walls so every conversation could be heard from a neighbouring room. The other room was great. My only remark would be to either supply coffee facilities in room or maybe communal downstairs so in...

The exterior is beautiful. The entrance is 'grand' and wide open. I found the room a bit disappointing - there was no chair other than a desk chair - I personally hate 'sitting in the bed I'm going to sleep in'. If there was more than me there would have been no where to sit BUT the bed. I 'discovered'...

My wife and I stayed here a couple nights last weekend. What a wonderful place to stay and just be unplugged. When you walk in it feels like your walking back 60 years. This is a beautiful hotel and well kept. Dawn the manager was great and knows a lot about the history of the hotel and the area. We...
