Its not a five star resort but for the price it offers exceptional value, friendly service and a clean place to spend the night. I stayed two nights while in the area for some hiking and the hotel was hosting a Model T club meeting which seemed appropriate while staying in an old hotel. The rooms have no TV but... More

The 5 star reviews for this hotel are impossible to fathom after staying here. We stayed for one night on our way to Castine, ME. Pets are allowed and the charge was 50.00 per pet. The room was tiny with one full sized bed. The desk chair was a folding metal chair used at outdoor functions. Carpeting was old and... More

Stayed here last weekend for the Sugarloaf marathon. Very suitably located 500 meter from the finish line. Because we had booked for 2 nights we got upgraded to room 312 (with King size bed) which was recently renovated. Was on the warm side, but windows could be opened to bring in some breeze. If you need a really quiet room,... More

my friends and I very much enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed and taken care of very well and it's just what we wanted for a weekend away to go to the mountain (less than 20 minutes away). There was around 8 of us with 3 different rooms spread out and we all slept comfortably. We will all be back... More

Making my way from Toronto to Acadia National Park, I misjudged how many lodging options I would have in eastern Quebec and northern Maine. Then I crossed the border I explained my dilemma to the officer and she quickly listed three or four options. It was last week, a dark, April night and a Sunday too...I wasn't too optimistic about... I really enjoyed me stay here. Very home and welcoming feel to the place. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and the price was reasonable. Will definitely come back.

I just started coming to the hotel this winter as my friend's family recently sold their condo in the area. This is a gem of a hotel with a great vibe. What I appreciate most about the Grand is the home like feel it possesses. The staff is extremely friendly and has gone above and beyond in accommodating my friends... More

Loved my quick stay. Innkeeper's mom was at the desk to check me in which was super fast. They did a nice job keeping a lot of the old details and was really run discovering all the old stuff, but it was so clean. Smelled good (not old hotel smell!). And got great sleep.

This sweet hotel sits a short distance from the Sugar loaf Ski Resort. A tiny town with a lot of New England charm and quiet way of life. The hotel is older but being updated and appropriately modernized. It harkens back to a slower quieter time with no TV's in the rooms and a beautiful downstairs siting area with a gas... More

Came here because of how close it is to sugarloaf mountain which is one of my favorite ski resorts. I'm very glad I stayed at this hotel since it was very different than most places I've stayed in the past. The employees were extremely friendly and eager to make sure we were happy with everything. The place has a very... More
