#1 of 24 B&Bs / Inns in Kennebunkport
Travelers' Choice
Our coastal Maine Bed and Breakfast is one of Kennebunkport's finest independent, owner operated, historic Inns. We offer understated, casual luxury and modern comforts coupled with traditional New England charm. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood next to the 15th fairway of the Cape Arundel Golf Club, we are only a short stroll from bustling Dock Square's shops, restaurants and art galleries. Our five guest rooms are well appointed with queen size beds and private bathrooms. Many have fireplaces (seasonal) and there are spa tubs in select rooms. For that extra special accommodation, our one bedroom suite is equipped with a king sized bed, two person walk in shower, oversize spa tub, fireplace, refrigerator and in-room coffee maker. A three course breakfast is prepared fresh from scratch each morning using local and organic ingredients. Coffee and hot drinks are available 24 hours a day in our dining room and fresh baked cakes and cookies are on offer in the afternoons. 1802 House is an ideal destination for relaxation and as a base to explore everything the south coast of Maine has to offer.

My husband and I spent two nights at 1802 House Bed & Breakfast in the Arundel Room. We really enjoyed our stay at this charming, quaint bed and breakfast. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cozy. It's apparent that every detail is meticulously thought out. The only feedback I would give is that the room was a little bit smaller than expected from the photos, but no less lovely! Overall, our stay here was perfect! We loved the fireplace in our room. In addition, the three-course breakfast is amazing and that in itself is worth the stay! We can't wait to come back and stay here again when we visit Kennebunkport in the future!

Hi Carrie, thank you for your review, and for taking the time to post it. We do try to make our rooms as attractive and comfortable as we possibly can and we are happy you liked your room. We are an old and small inn so none of our rooms are especially large, but with fireplaces and seating areas we pack a lot into each area. Carl does make a splendid breakfast, his scones and muffins are especially delicious. It was lovely to meet you both, we hope to see you both again next time your travels bring you to Maine.

Property's Favorite Review
1802 House was the highlight of our visit to Kennebunkport. Everything about it is immaculate, from the elegantly decorated rooms to the well-kept grounds. It offers peaceful charm while being in close proximity to town with plenty to do. The York room where we spent 3 nights was beautiful and its private shower was absolutely fantastic. We particularly relished the 3-course gourmet breakfast menu created daily by Carl and served with fresh-made coffee and juice. Every meal we had (freshly baked goods, yogurt parfaits, blueberry pancakes, smoked salmon tart etc.) was delicious and very nicely presented and our specific dietary needs were kept in mind. Eileen was always there to answer our questions and give us useful tips for our day trips on top of the excellent guide we received with the reservation. We enjoyed 1802 House so much that we decided to stay an extra night in the Camden room which was also spotless and decorated with taste. Surely deserves all those 5-star reviews. Thank you Carl and Eileen for your hospitality, we will surely be back!

1st trip to Kennebunkport. We stayed for two nights and took in a lot of nearby sights. 1802 house was a beautiful house on a quiet treelined street that was in short walking distance to town. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful during our stay and we also enjoyed our delicious breakfasts. We also enjoyed the outdoor firepit, one of the evenings that we stayed. Would definitely return again!

We stayed at 1802 House for a couple nights of our "mini-moon" and it was absolutely perfect. Our room was beautiful (amazing bathtub!) and incredibly comfortable. Carl and Eileen were so kind and helpful and the breakfast was DELICIOUS!! They set up some surprise gifts at my husband's request which were beautiful and yummy. The location was great, we walked into town where we ate even more great food. We're already dying to go back! Hoping to visit again next fall!

The 1802 Inn is a sweet little historic Inn right in Kennebunkport. The location is beautiful as it backs up to a good course but also tucked back in a neighborhood street within walking distance to the main area of town. Quiet little property with all the charm you would find in an older inn. Our party size required we have 2 rooms. The host are very lovely and so helpful with any questions or needs you may have during your stay. They were so responsive as we contacted them a little late and they were able to accommodate us. The inn was very clean and we were pleased since we were traveling during Covid. You can tell they are taking every precaution possible to keep their guest and themselves safe during these unusual times. Highly recommend if you stay to get out for a morning walk because it’s just beautiful

Thank you for your lovely review, and for taking the time to post. We very much appreciate your kind comments. We love being out here away from the hustle and bustle of Dock Square but within easy walking range. It is a lovely place to take a walk in the morning, build up your appetite for one of Carl's delicious breakfasts. Thanks again, we hope to see you next time you are in Maine. Say hello to Amy for me.
