#1 of 24 B&Bs / Inns in Kennebunkport
Travelers' Choice
Our coastal Maine Bed and Breakfast is one of Kennebunkport's finest independent, owner operated, historic Inns. We offer understated, casual luxury and modern comforts coupled with traditional New England charm. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood next to the 15th fairway of the Cape Arundel Golf Club, we are only a short stroll from bustling Dock Square's shops, restaurants and art galleries. Our five guest rooms are well appointed with queen size beds and private bathrooms. Many have fireplaces (seasonal) and there are spa tubs in select rooms. For that extra special accommodation, our one bedroom suite is equipped with a king sized bed, two person walk in shower, oversize spa tub, fireplace, refrigerator and in-room coffee maker. A three course breakfast is prepared fresh from scratch each morning using local and organic ingredients. Coffee and hot drinks are available 24 hours a day in our dining room . 1802 House is an ideal destination for relaxation and as a base to explore everything the south coast of Maine has to offer.

This was a very comfortable stay. So peaceful and quiet yet within walking distance to town. There are many outside sitting areas including a fire pit. The back end of the property over looks a golf course. The breakfast was delicious.

Property's Favorite Review
1802 House was the highlight of our visit to Kennebunkport. Everything about it is immaculate, from the elegantly decorated rooms to the well-kept grounds. It offers peaceful charm while being in close proximity to town with plenty to do. The York room where we spent 3 nights was beautiful and its private shower was absolutely fantastic. We particularly relished the 3-course gourmet breakfast menu created daily by Carl and served with fresh-made coffee and juice. Every meal we had (freshly baked goods, yogurt parfaits, blueberry pancakes, smoked salmon tart etc.) was delicious and very nicely presented and our specific dietary needs were kept in mind. Eileen was always there to answer our questions and give us useful tips for our day trips on top of the excellent guide we received with the reservation. We enjoyed 1802 House so much that we decided to stay an extra night in the Camden room which was also spotless and decorated with taste. Surely deserves all those 5-star reviews. Thank you Carl and Eileen for your hospitality, we will surely be back!

My husband and I chose Kennebunkport to spend a night celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and chose the 1802 House Bed & Breakfast as the place to stay. We couldn’t have picked a better spot! Eileen and Carl were the most charming hosts and instantly made us feel right at home. The inn is beautiful with a setting that overlooks the golf course. Was an easy “stroll” to Dock Square and all the shops and restaurants. And the outside fire pit was the perfect place to end our evening sitting by a lovely fire enjoying the warm summer like weather. The complimentary breakfast the next morning went above and beyond. From the fresh brewed coffee to the homemade cinnamon bun to the yogurt and fruit to the scrambled eggs, we certainly over indulged that morning! Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back again some day…

The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in the area - the hidden gem of Kennebunkport. They made wonderful breakfasts for us during our stay. Our room (Sebago) was perfect for couples, with a luxurious king bed (with amazingly soft comforters), a shower with 2 showerheads, a fireplace, private balcony, and 2-person jetted-tub room. The Inn is nestled in a quite area, only minutes from downtown. We highly recommend the 1802 House!

The 1802 house is a perfect place for a quiet, adult, dog free stay. Peaceful grounds to sit read, relax, or enjoy the fire pit area. The rooms are cozy, beautiful, comfortable, and quaint. The innkeepers Eileen and Carl could not be more friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. Carl's breakfast creations are works of art. The location is just a bit from the restaurants water, shops and such. (not quite walking distance in our retiree opinions). Overall, just a great stay.
