Catering to couples, captivatingly cozy, and quintessentially coastal, this magical enclave of 16 petite cottages is a departure from traditional inns, Bed and Breakfasts, and hotels in Kennebunkport, Maine. Our whimsically intimate accommodations offer the perfect seasonal getaway and are open May through October. Perhaps Renovation Style magazine summed up The Cottages at Cabot Cove best - "decorated little houses with patios and lush landscaping, clustered next to Cabot Cove, one of Maine's most beautiful saltwater settings."

Karen the property manager greeted us with enthusiasm and cheer. She provided a tour of the property, amenities and suggestions for activities and dining in Kennebunkport. The grounds are beautiful and quaint. The cabins are small but a perfect size for a couple. They are designed with coastal flair and look exactly like the online photos. The property is on the water, has water activities, quaint outdoor seating areas. They serve a warm nice breakfast in the morning and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. You will love it!

Kennebunkport, Maine is a favorite getaway destination. We stay at Cottages at Cabot Cove and make sure we always stay in cottage #14, ANCHOR DOWN. You will know ANCHOR DOWN Cottage was recently renovated with its modern, yet charming, nautical décor. Furnishings are new with colors in crisp, clean and relaxing seaside blues and whites. A few other comforts are the air conditioning, Smart TV and fast WiFi. Tote bags and umbrellas are there to use. ANCHOR DOWN is quiet and peaceful and has dark shades making it easy for sleeping in. The bed and linens are top quality. Lots of storage to unpack suitcases. Bathroom has vanity storage and modern tiled shower. The new couch is comfy and can be pulled out to a bed for a 3rd guest. The cute eating nook is perfect to enjoy the yummy breakfast delivered and left at your door each morning. Kitchen is equipped with everything needed to fix a meal. After a day of walking the town, it’s so relaxing to pour a glass of wine, sit in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy the private deck and pretty garden. Oh, and they also leave an afternoon treat at your door!

When we go to Kennebunkport, we enjoy staying at the Cottages at Cabot Cove, which are walking distance from the wonderful boutiques, galleries, and restaurants in town. This complex is situated on the Kennebunkport River and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. We have stayed in three of the sixteen units. All three had similar designs – a living / kitchen area, bedroom, tiled bath, a seating area outside the cottage, and came with a daily gourmet breakfast. Anchor Down #14, was our favorite. It was recently renovated and great attention to detail was evident in the stylish nautical décor, optimizing the utilization of its space. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, wifi and smart tv. The furniture, including a new sofa, and comfortable bed / linens enhanced our stay.

We were there in May 2023 shortly after they opened for 2023 business. It’s hard for me to say I like or don’t like the place - there is nothing I like but there is also nothing that I really dislike. The cottages are small. Like really small. But they were clear about this upfront so don’t complain about the size. We knew how small the place is so we packed very light, had a separate bag for our stay here, and left the luggage in our car. The cottages are nicely decorated but it’s small (but we knew). You can’t spend much time inside the cottage because it’s tiny. They bring breakfast to you every morning. First day we had two croissant, two cheese, jam butter, one bottle of OJ. Second day was a burrito type of wrap. Nothing spectacular. One day we didn’t get any afternoon snack. Second day we got two bags of skinny popcorn. None of the water related activity could be done because the water in the little lake is at very low level. I wish they had told us that before we check in. There was basically nothing to do on the property other than lighting the fire pit at night. They also had some game board next to the fire pit. I think if you are looking for a place from the busy city life, this is a good place to come and meditate. It just ain’t for me but this is not saying it’s not for you. Housekeeping service is provided daily. I think the property manager also manages another property so don’t expect full time service. But she’s available by text. For the price we paid, we probably won’t come back again.

thank you for sharing you thought here . Yes we are tiny cottages, I hope they are comfortable even though they are petite. As far as the cove goes we do try to emphasize the cove is tidal however it is only missing water about 2 hours each tide and typically one of the tides is when you are sleeping. In your breakfast note it always lets you know what times are good for getting out into the cove. We strive to offer a great little breakfast each morning that is delivered to your door. As far as activities there are lots of choices thru the Kennebunk's just let us know what your interested in and we are happy to point you in the right direction . Thank you for giving us a try.

Absolutely lovely place to stay. The quaint waterfront town of Kennybunkport is reflected in this charming enclave of cottages. Cottages are impeccably decorated and well-appointed with no detail overlooked. Amenities including rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and bicycles on-site with local partnerships for additional rentals in town. Good walk to downtown but nicely positioned for tranquil indoor and outdoor lounging and peace and quiet. Hospitality was five-star - they met our every need with smiles, delivering breakfast and afternoon snacks directly to the cottage, providing a tour of the property upon arrival, and sending us off with a very sweet gift bag. Ideal place to stay when visiting Kennybunkport, but book early as this place is quite popular (as routinely featured in travel magazines).

Clean and neat, but way below expectations. A typical Maine, summertime rip-off. They charge a resort fee when their is no resort. The cottage is so small that two people can't get in the bathroom at the same time, unless one is standing in the shower. There is NO room in the bedroom to even open up a carry-on size suitcase, and the living area so small I had to open the suitcase on top of the cook top! Fool me once with their website, but never again. At $550 ++ a night, which ended up at $650 a night, we would never stay there again. Management was cordial and nice, just not a good product offering.

thank you for taking the time to share your experience, I am sorry it was not what you were hoping for. We try very hard to make sure our guest understand these are truly tiny cottages, on the website we give you the square footage/ as well as pictures...I can appreciate you felt it was small as it is. This property is certainly not for everybody. We are a very quaint throw back property that offers lush gardens/ watercrafts to enjoy the cove and the river/ bikes to cruise to towns and explore the area, a lovely firepit to enjoy in the evenings. We are not flashy or glitzy. We offer a social wine and cheese a few times a week as well for those that would like to be social. July and August in the Kennebunk's is prime season...We hope you enjoyed your time in Maine.

We spent a lovely two nights in the Harbor Cottage. It was very pretty and well air-conditioned (so important in the increasingly hot summers), and beyond thoughtful. Truly: The Cottages anticipate every need of guests to the area. There are complimentary beach chairs, towels, beach bags and umbrellas, which made visits to my favorite Goose Rocks and Scarborough beaches so much easier. The complimentary bikes are comfortable cruisers that can be taken to town easily (driving to the downtown is ill-advised b/c it's so congested during peak months), and you can park them anywhere, they don't require locks. The breakfasts were such a wonderful daily surprise, and one time we came home to fresh-baked cookies. The living room is so cozy that one night we chose not to eat out at the (rather touristy) restaurants and just dine in with our own food and wine. The Harbor Cottage probably has the most private outdoor area because it is at the end of the path and while the loungers on the lawn are technically for communal use, we did not find anybody except geese using them. Sensitive, restless sleepers like myself might have a little trouble with the bed. It's a queen, which I sleep in at home, but it's soft and sort of bouncy/responsive to tossing and turning. One night my husband went to sleep on the couch, and the following night I did, simply to not disturb the other. But it was not uncomfortable. I'm just a bad sleeper and prefer firmer mattresses. Overall, it was a blissful stay, and the perfect compromise between a hotel and a big rental house, great for a couple. I would definitely stay here again and maybe opt for a King room.

We loved Cottages at Cabot Cove. Peg and Emily were wonderful hostesses. At check-in, she walks you around the property to show you the bikes, kayaks, fire pit, etc and then to your room. Loved that. It made us feel special and welcomed. We stayed in the Anchorage room which is apart of the office building. It isn't its own little cottage. That was totally fine. We had our own private little patio in the back with a view of the cove thru the trees. (That area could use a little weeding though.) Loved that they delivered a little breakfast each morning to your door. We sat outside on our patio and had breakfast. The Anchorage room is cozy and fairly tight but the bathroom and closet are a fine size. We used the beach cruiser bikes one day and biked to Cape Porpoise. And also used the kayaks. One thing to note is that the cove is affected by the tide. At low tide, the water is all gone from the cove. It's doesn't smell fishy though. They tell you the safe times to kayak to make sure you are able to get back to the Inn before no water.

My husband and I stayed at the Cottages at Cabot Cove to celebrate our anniversary and were completed charmed. It was our first time visiting Kennebunkport and we really didn’t have many expectations or plans other than to relax. We can’t say enough about how lovely the trip was and how special the cottages are. The whole property feels like it was taken from the pages of a storybook. The customer service is outstanding and the attention to detail is very apparent. We stayed in the Sunset cottage because we wanted a king size bed, a bit more space in the bedroom, and cottage that was tucked back a bit for privacy, and it did not disappoint!! I loved how all the amenities were self-service: you could use the fire pit, games, bikes, and boats whenever you wanted, no locks on anything. The property is right down the street from town- close enough to walk but far enough away to feel like you’re secluded. The sunsets over the cove, the crunch of the clam shell drive, the creaky screen doors, and the swaying willows all make for a very cozy experience. We can’t wait to return. Already planning our next visit!
