The Tides Bearch Club is in a beautiful setting across from the great beach and so it is an enjoyable location, particularly since it is the only option in that area of Kings Highway. That said, this is no longer a hotel with a restaurant; it is a restaurant with some rooms upstairs. There is not a single square foot of common space devoted to guests. It is all set up - all the time - as restaurant seating. The rooms are small so if you can perchance get a chair on the deck from the many people coming in for drinks, lunch or dinner, you will be lucky. The restaurant is always full in the evenings, and there is not preference given to hotel guests. If you like living in a restaurant, this is the place.
While we loved the location, enjoyed our meals, and found the staff to be friendly and helpful, we were disappointed by the size of our room. It was cramped and had a single chair and limited view of the ocean.
The location is amazing, sitting in the middle of Goose Rocks Beach. The chair service on the beach is excellent and convenient. The room was noisy during sleeping hours because you can easily hear other guests moving around. I know there is a staff shortage in hospitality right now but we were underwhelmed by their attentiveness at this price point. I have had friendlier, more thoughtful staff at inexpensive chain hotels. Overall the location is amazing, the food and drinks are great and everything is very clean. But for this amount of $ the amenities and staff were a little disappointing.
My fiance and I stayed here in May to celebrate his birthday. This place is just outstanding. We were there in May, literally days after it opened for the season. But we never would have known given how smoothly everything ran and how wonderfully we were treated. From the front desk staff to the waiters and everyone in between, they were kind, considerate and very professional. We are in our mid-twenties and often have been treated as "kids" when we travel together. Not here. The front desk helped me to arrange my fiance's birthday dinner at Earth (also outstanding) and the waiter remembered after the first morning how my fiance likes his coffee and that I prefer ice water. Only two areas to improve- the breakfast was very expensive for two eggs and dry toast. Dinner was absolutely wonderful so I don't think improving breakfast would be difficult. Second, the bike chains were rusted on all the bikes and fell off during one ride- such a small thing but could be fixed easily. We will be staying again soon!…
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The staff were all excellent, the property is gorgeous and the location can’t be beat! We spent a day on Goose Rocks Beach and a day at the pool at Hidden Pond. Being able to use the amenities of both properties was great. We would highly recommend this property and we can’t wait to come back!
