Sandy Pines is immaculate. We stayed in a Camp Carriage and loved it. The entire campground is clean, staff are friendly and it was overall a great experience. It is welcoming for families as well as those traveling with dogs.

The nights had a nice chill which made for great sleeping. Now the brisk walk to the bathroom was eye opening but the return to the big comfortable bed was eye closing. Sat around the camp fire one night exchanging travel stories and had a great experience. My wife dropped a ear

Nautical Nights
Another view of the wooded surroundings.
They were community fire pits are shared by all the tents in the general area. I would guess maybe 4-6 tents per fire pit. We sat at our fire for an hour or so before others joined. We went to bed and they had it to theirselves. Since the beginning of time campfires have been where people gathered at days in for warmth, story telling and sharing. You should inquire if there might be a fire pit location for a private family gathering but don't miss the chance to enjoy fellow travelers. If you don't care for community fire pits then you are really going to not like the community bathrooms. ;)
