My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Chuck Wagon for our anniversary. It was beyond our expectations! The site was private with a relaxing view of the salt marsh. The interior of the Chuck Wagon was lovely- spacious and nicely appointed with cowhand themed decorations. Restrooms were spotless as was the entire campground. A wonderful experience.
Sandy pines is a a campground we have been going to for a few years. It is a big campground and the sites vary all over from spacious to like a big parking lot in the woods. We had a really nice spot and were very happy. The sites could use some leveling as we had to jack up one side of our camper around 3 inches to get it level. The bathrooms are on the small side and are well maintained but they really could use a shelf and a bench for the shower area. The pool while very nice, we have never used because you need to reserve a time and we just found this a pain. Plus lots of kids (crowded). Lots of trails and paths for waking or bike riding, plus you are near a lot of other things to do. We will be back.
We really enjoyed camping at Sandy Pines in our travel trailer. The entire campground is very clean and there are a number of sites that offer good privacy, including ours (Sand Piper #3). Staff is super friendly. Overall, we found this site to be run very professionally.
This campground was really cute. Very well-maintained friendly staff. Close to Kennebunkport and everywhere we wanted to go. we were in site 17 which was great for our motorhome as the original site they put us in would not accommodate us and they happily moved us. Great place!!!
Close to the beach and Kennebunkport. There is also plenty to do at the campground itself. The atmosphere is very family friendly and the staff are friendly and responsive. The facilities such as bathhouses, playgrounds and pool are also in great condition. This is a top tier campground so even though the price is high you feel you are getting what you pay for.
We had a wonderful time camping in our motor home. The grounds are beautiful, and everyone we met, both staff and other guests, were friendly. The general store has yummy breakfast sandwiches and anything you might need. The campground is close to downtown Kennebunkport and about 40 minutes from Portland. We hope to return next summer!
I've only been camping ONCE in my life prior to this trip. With a toddler and a six month old, we decided on the glamp experience for more space and amenities, and what a JOY it was for our family. Our son loved the playgrounds, the bath house experience, and the clean pool. We went during the week so we found it quite quiet. One night, I went out of the tent in the middle of the night and the stars were so bright...you could even hear the ocean a mile or so away. It IS camping even in a glamp tent. We had one funny chipmunk that clearly knew his way around our tent. He visited us about a dozen times, quickly zipping out when we started to shoo him away. Thank you, Sandy Pines. We had a blast.
Stayed in the Adrift glamping tent for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend 2022. The campgrounds were fairly full so I was worried it might get a bit rowdy, but our section quiet and peaceful and serene the whole stay! The glamping tent was just as pictured - comfortable beds and linens, fresh towels, an outdoor patio and firepit. Everything was clean and organized. Neither of us got a single bug bite the entire time, even though we had some mosquitos in our tent. All the bugs left us alone, in fact (and yes, there will be bugs in your tent because it's still camping even if it's glamping! :). The grounds were well designed, lots of tree cover, and you can't beat the surrounding nature preserve to really feel like you're camping. We didn't use the pool, kayaks, etc. but they looked clean, in great condition, and everyone who used them seemed to be having a good time. The general store was well-stocked and their breakfast sandwiches were hot and tasty. The donut we had was stale but still flavorful. Would 100% recommend Sandy Pines to everyone and we're already planning to return with the kids next time!…
Sandy Pines Campground offers a really nice blend of rustic nature mixed with well manicured landscaping. They have a nature preserve salt marsh at the back part of the campground and offer any type of camping you might want, which includes RV sites to accommodate all rigs, tent sites, glamping tents, cabins, and specialty sites like a covered wagon or vintage campers. The campground was very neat and clean (including the restrooms). The location is perfect for exploring beautiful beaches and towns up and down the coast. The best part is the friendly, hard working staff. They made us feel family and spoiled our dog Hank. The only thing they could add to make this a perfect park is to create an off leash dog area.
I am not a complainer...I have been to several campsites and this is the first time I write a bad review. If you are looking for a QUIET and private getaway, don't come here. Although there are some trees, you have no privacy. You are surrounded by other sites and can see and hear everything going on. There is absolutely no surveillance after nightfall. There were parties going on til 2 am, so we didn't get much sleep. I am pretty tolerant, and understand the joy of a campfire til about 11pm. But this was not it. As for the showers, they are not always open and available. The weekend we stayed, there was only 1 shower per bathhouse.T his was tolerable on the Sunday when everyone was leaving, but on the Saturday we had to wait in line 45 minutes to have access to a shower. The showers are clean and free, but I would rather pay 1$ like other campgrounds and have more availability. If you want to enjoy the nature peacefully, definitely don't go to Sandy Pines. If you are a party animal that want's to get drunk and disturb the peace without any consequence, this is your place.…
