Detailed Reviews
The King's Port Inn is our favorite hotel when visiting Kennebunkport, Me.
It is Family owned; a great location to wander the Kennebunkport shops and restaurants; a welcoming Staff; not pretentious; reasonably priced.
It is evident that the Family invests back into the property and the rooms.
My Wife asked that I include that the shower was the best she has experienced over a lifetime of travel in the US, Asia, South America and Europe.
Obviously Kennebunkport is a resort destination. Over the last five years, we have found that the Hotel and Inn prices seem to have doubled making many of them seem overpriced for the value received.
When traveling and touring this area, we suggest making the King's Port Inn your valued hotel destination!
It will always be our first choice on our annual trips to Kennebunkport!

My husband and I stayed in a "premium" King room on the 2nd floor (no elevator) for 4 nights in early October. The room was large and clean. Bathroom sink had a long counter. The tub/shower and toilet had a separate door.
The free parking and the location of the hotel are its best features. Leave the car in the parking lot and walk to explore Kennebunk and across the bridge to Kennebunkport. From the hotel, we frequented "Mornings in Paris" for breakfast and "HB Provisions" for soft serve ice cream, snacks, alcohol - both are right across the street.
HINT: Kennebunk makes a great home base for visiting York, Wells, Ogunquit, Old Orchard Beach, Cape Elizabeth, Kittery, and even Portsmouth, NH.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at King's Port Inn! We agree that we are a great "home base" for visits to the many attractions in the surrounding areas! Once you return, you can park and walk to restaurants and even the beach! It's a convenient option for quality lodging and service in an ideal location at an affordable price in an expensive area. We are happy to have served you!

We stayed 3 nights recently and enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us, approximately but a football field or two and one bridge away from Kennebunkport (KPT). Our room on the third floor featured a king bed, Jacuzzi, and a mini refrigerator. More notable were the 39 steep steps required to navigate from ground zero to our room. The hotel staff was very pleasant and there is free parking. On the downside, breakfast daily room service are no longer offered. You can ask at the desk for a change in towels or additional toiletries.

Breaking up the trip between MDI and NYC I thought I’d check out Kennebunkport and the beaches. Goose Rock Beach made it worth the stop. Best thing about this hotel is price, location, and Sophie at the front desk. She was very accommodating. Clean sheets and towels also a plus but my room was dark on the first floor with no access to open ventilation and drop ceilings that drooped with any walking up above. Also, we had a lot of loitering guests on the randomly placed outdoor chairs in front of our room. In a pinch it all works but overall not suited for comfort.

Dear kellyk240, Thank you for staying with us! We appreciate your business and we are so happy that you enjoyed the price, location, service and linens that we offer at King's Port Inn. We are truly sorry that you felt the room was not in line with your expectations. All rooms do offer windows that open and ac/heat/fan units for individual climate control. Had you let us know; I'm certain that we could have found another room that would have made for a better overall experience. We have five different room styles and we would have been happy to work with you to achieve a more favorable outcome. It is our mission to offer quality lodging with excellent service at a great value. Please give us another try in the future! Warmest Regards,

We stayed in a room on the bottom floor. It was immaculate from toilet to bed to all floors. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and service. All lights in working order, had a placed to charge multiple devices. The desk let us know they are working on bringing back the breakfast that had been served prior to COVID.

I knew I would like this place during check in. We had flight problems that caused us to arrive at 11pm instead of 11am. Even checking in at that late hour, the man (I wish I had gotten his name) took the time to give us some tips about the town, talk about the history and share a couple nice stories about the Bush family. Many restaurants and shops are walkable from this location so no need to fight parking in peak tourist season. Hotel was just a couple of blocks away from the harbor where we caught our whale watching tour. Our room was clean, good bed and had a really nice shower "room" and jetted tub. Well insulated from street noise. Furnishings were somewhat dated and our first floor unit was a little dark because we kept the drapes pulled for privacy otherwise I would have given a 5 rating. It was nice to be able to park in front of the unit. Hotel fee included parking. Complimentary breakfast - Belgium waffles individually cooked by the breakfast staff; the Maine blueberry compote for topping was out of this world. Yum.

What a great hotel with the location right at the beginning of Kennebunkport town so you can walk to all the shops and most of the restaurants. A short drive to the beach. The rooms are large with ours having a king bed and lots of space. Because of Covid no room service available or buffet breakfast so bedding was left in corridor for pickup and coffee was available. Coffee shop right across the street. There is plenty of seating around the hotel but the best part is the friendly atmosphere from Sophie who is there for all your needs and some good local restaurant advice. All in all great experience and hope to get back next year

Dear frankrm8082, We thank you for your positive review! Yes, one of our best features is our location! We are a short walking distance to all the major attractions in town. It is only a 5 minute walk to downtown Kennebunkport, and less than 10 minutes to Kennebunk Beach. Plus, we have spacious rooms and nice King beds! Thank you for your review and we hope you come back!

We once again stayed for 3 nights while vacationing on the mid-coast with our room this year located on the 2nd floor, a mere 14 steps up from the inn's entrance. Daily room service is again being offered though we opted to exchange towels at the front desk. Another change from last year is a breakfast is now offered though we took a pass on the proferred breakfast pastries and limited ourselves most mornings to OJ, coffee and yogurt with a choice of strawberry or blueberry preserves. On the first morning we tried the made to order waffles but they turned out to be dry even after being anointed with blueberries and syrup. The front desk and kitchen staff were uniformly helpful so we will no doubt be returning.

We once again chose this hotel for our evening’s lodging because of its relatively high quality/price ratio and convenient location. This is not a chain, but a family-owned and operated hotel. This year we chose a second floor premium king which suited our needs perfectly. The staff continues to be both accommodating and friendly. The included breakfast has not changed since our last visit so we once to enjoy the offered coffee, juice and yogurt with fruit while purchasing breakfast pastries to go from the bakery located directly across the street.

As other reviews have stated, this has more of a feel of a motel rather than an Inn.We were located on the second floor of the back section with our door opening to the outside balcony.
Maybe the main Building pictured on their web site has a more quaint Inn feel.
Also as there is not an elevator lugging our suitcase and cooler up the stairway was a bit difficult.
It does state on the web site that there is no breakfast served or daily maid service, but we did walk about .2 mile up the road for the best breakfast place "All Day Breakfast"
The best part of The Kings Port Inn is definitely the location.

Thank you for choosing King's Port Inn! We are so pleased to offer our guests lodging in an ideal location that allows our guests to park their cars (complimentary parking for our guests) and walk to shops and restaurants from their room! We do have enhanced room styles in the main building for visitors looking for more spacious accommodations and rooms with two-person Jacuzzis. We are an older Maine hotel and like many, we do not have an elevator. All rooms on upper floors must be accessed by stairs. If that is an issue, we will always try our best to accommodate ground floor requests as long as we know in advance!

Hi Joleen126,
We have a few rooms that we designate for pets from November 1st through May 11th. They are first come first serve and we charge a $25.00 pet fee per day. After that time we no longer accept pets because our pet-friendly sister property opens for the season. The Lodge At Turbat's Creek.
Warmest Regards,
Colleen
I'm not too sure, but I don't think so.
