We spent two nights at The Inn at English Meadows as part of a Marriott Vacation Club, Epicurean Tour. The owner, Elizabeth is wonderful. She is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our suite in the carriage house was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast in the morning was a truly enjoyable experience. Even though it was mid October and the weather in the morning was cool ( low 40’s), we sat outside both mornings. Breakfast was two courses; fruit first and then a unique breakfast entree. Our first morning, we had sliced bananas with yogurt, granola and local honey, plus blueberries. It was excellent. Our breakfast entree was two soft bacon waffles with Maine syrup. Delicious. The second morning we had fresh blackberries and afresh, warm, blueberry scone. Our entree was a cheese and vegetable tart. Also delicious.
As part of our “Marriott” package, we spent our second afternoon in the kitchen with Kathy, Elizabeth’s chef. This was a private cooking exercise with Kathy in the kitchen at the Inn. Our menu was fresh lobster in a beurre blanc sauce with roasted potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes. We had a cheese tray available along with a bottle of wine while assisting with the meal preparation. We started by making the beurre blanc sauce which was much easier than I imagined. After prepping the vegetables and getting them in the oven, we put water on the stove to steam the lobsters. Cooking and cleaning the lobster meat was again, easier than imagined. We then put the lobster meat into the sauce and then plated the meal. Finally, we then moved to the dining room to enjoy the fruits of our labor. This was an awesome experience.
I understand that this cooking experience can be booked directly on the Inn web site.
This was a first class experience and we appreciate the support from Kathy and Elizabeth.

Hi Mike, thanks so much for the wonderful review that offers such great detail about our breakfasts and our culinary package - I'm sure all the foodies out there will appreciate reading this one! Our breakfasts are a huge part of what we offer here as a traditional bed and breakfast inn, and we put a lot of time and care into our daily menu planning, preparation and service. The cooking class is our most popular package, and you're correct that any guest can book this very special culinary experience directly with us on our website. Chefs Kathy, Derek and Justin all provide guests with a fabulous Maine lobster experience, and they strive to present and help guests prepare a delicious meal that looks fancy but can easily be prepared at home! I'm so glad to hear that you found your stay at the Inn and the culinary experience to be first class - we appreciate you so much for sharing it all here!

This was our fourth year staying at this Inn and now we just consider them close friends! They have watched our family grow and are so accommodating to our growing needs. All the rooms are so perfect and updated! The breakfast is so delicious, it is all freshly made and the presentation of the food is perfect! Before the pandemic there was always freshly baked cookies and coffee available throughout the day. During this stay there was still freshly baked (delicious) cookies and they were individually wrapped to maintain safety. The Inn is also off the beaten path of downtown Kennebunkport but in walking distance to everything! It's absolutely perfect! We cannot recommend this place enough! We love staying here and are already booked again for next Christmas Prelude!

Dear Micaela, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your (years of!) experiences at the Inn at English Meadows! Christmas Prelude is such a special time to visit Kennebunkport - even during a very low-key celebration during a pandemic! We're always so excited to create a festive atmosphere here at the Inn during the holiday season so that we can share it with wonderful guests like you and your family. Even this year, with so few visitors in town and at the Inn, the holiday spirit is very much alive! We'll keep maintaining our COVID safety protocols to help travelers feel safe and at home here, and look forward to welcoming you back again and again.

Beautiful Inn! We absolutely loved our stay. We only stayed 2 nights but the accommodations were perfect. Since our travel situation was unique I booked directly with Elizabeth who was fantastic from beginning to end. I messaged her because we had 3 people in our party so we needed 1 King room for my husband and myself but we needed a queen room for my mother. I also had the special request that if possible we be on the same floor in close proximity. Elizabeth worked to coordinate with housekeeping to see if they could get things ready for us. All of this was during Covid so I knew most lodging facilities were not booking at full capacity, probably working with much less staff and had a lot to do to make sure all spaces were cleaned per health department guidelines. Elizabeth was fantastic and got it all worked out and while we had to climb stairs we had the perfect little space for the 3 of us!!! The rooms were fantastic - the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms we’re beautifully appointed, fine linens, all the amenities we would need and plus more. Elizabeth’s attention to detail was wonderful and on point. The breakfast each day was fantastic as well a beautifully plated. We actually tried to book 2 more nights last minute on our return home but she was booked up - we were disappointed - so now we look forward to our return trip. Elizabeth is very responsive to inquiries and messages, such a kind person and truly wants to ensure you enjoy your stay at her Inn...we also appreciated her humor and conversations with us during our visit. Truly made it feel like we were staying with an old friend.

We stayed in the Carriage House Suite June 13-17th, it was clean, spacious, and Elizabeth was able to meet every need and request that we had. It was very special to have a nice greeting on arrival and fun conversation during the great breakfasts. Our suite had a balcony where we could watch the abundance of birds each morning. The location of the Inn was perfect for us, very short drive into town, but not right in the busy part of town, easy access back to route 1 to explore surrounding areas, or take the car to Ocean Drive for sights and sunsets. There is short-staffing at many locations but if that was the case at the Inn at English Meadows you couldn't tell because Elizabeth handles everything with ease and grace. We've stayed at over 40 B&B's over the past 6 years and this is top notch.
Thank you for a lovely stay!

Wow - thank you so much for your kind words! We love to hear how much our guests enjoy their accommodations and our convenient location. And your perspective as a VERY frequent B&B guest rating us "top notch" is especially meaningful. I really appreciate your comments too about the staffing challenges plaguing the hospitality industry this year, as we are operating at about half our normal staffing level with reservations higher than ever. It's been very challenging for all of us and I'll be sure to pass your wonderful comments on to our hardworking staff!

Nothing short of perfection: from the charming and accommodating proprietor, to the meticulously appointed and soothing private rooms and public spaces, to the breakfasts that were as pretty to look at as they were as drool-worthy to eat! The grounds are lovely, even during this chilly part of year (and were great for our four legged kid, who was joining us for her first wee vacation! Our room had its own private entrance, so we could enter and exit with our girl without traipsing thru the Inn, and there even was a dedicated container outside our door for Lily's , er... waste products!). With easy to use and always available coffee and tea stations in a couple of convenient locations, it was always easy to grab a cup, which we particularly appreciated when enjoying the daily scrumptious cookie selection on the veranda, where at dusk the fire table made a particularly attractive place to perch for a spell. How fortunate is Elizabeth to live in such a beautiful place (in winter, down the street from Christmas Prelude; in summer, walk to the beach1)

Hello! And thank you so much for so eloquently (and in such great detail!) sharing your recent experience at the inn. We're always so pleased to hear about how much our guests loved their stay, and what they found most enjoyable. We do put a lot of effort into our freshly prepared breakfasts and our always baked-from-scratch afternoon cookies, and it's especially important to me and our staff that guests feel relaxed, comfortable and well cared for! Ambiance, aesthetics and of course, cleanliness are a big part of that! I couldn't agree with you more about our location which, as you mentioned, is wonderful in every season! I feel so very fortunate to live so close to the charming shops, restaurants and attractions of Kennebunkport, including that beautiful sandy beach just down the road, and I LOVE being able to share it all with our guests!

I went to Kennebunk for a seminar and spent the weekend at The Inn at English Meadows. My room was charming and I melted into the soft bed for a great night sleep. The shower was hot and the grapefruit face wash made my face feel bright. The breakfast was fantastic and different. There is no better way to start the morning then with a slice of cheese cake or a slice of warm pineapple. It was a guiltless indulgence. It was a lovely weekend.

My husband and I went to Kennebunkport for Valentine's weekend. We stayed at The Inn at English Meadows. It was a fantastic weekend from the moment we were greeted by the Innkeeper, Elizabeth. We stayed in the Sunrise Room on the second floor right in the front of the house. The room was perfect. Done in blue and tan tones it was so beautifully decorated. The bed so incredibly comfortable with such soft linens you did not want to get out of it in the morning! The breakfasts were just incredible. Fresh ingredients prepared perfectly; the coffee was amazing. In fact, I brought home a signature mug and some of that incredible coffee! Elizabeth was so incredibly warm and welcoming; it felt like coming home. The staff at breakfast were so nice and attentive. My husband has a gluten allergy and there were always very delicious choices for him to enjoy. In the evening, we would come downstairs and enjoy fresh tea and cookies. We would sit in the beautifully decorated common area and enjoy the fire. Oh the chocolate cookies with just the right amount of heat; just delicious! I would highly recommend a visit to The Inn at English Meadows. The Inn is so beautiful and so relaxing; a perfect way to spend a vacation. They think of every detail so you can come visit and let go of the hustle and bustle of life for a bit.

This was our second stay at The Inn at English Meadows. We first visited December 30, 2019-January 1, 2020. We loved the inn and innkeeper, Elizabeth, so much we returned for Halloween weekend, October 30-November 1, 2020! We chose our last accommodation, The Tranquility Suite which was so spacious and comfortable. A separate living room and bedroom greeted us for relaxation which was very welcoming with the challenges of the pandemic. Elizabeth and her staff (including her daughter!) were amazing-professional, friendly and dedicated. The breakfasts (3 courses) were delicious and sumptuous. Cannot say enough about this beautiful venue. We look forward to returning in the very near future to our home away from home!

Dear Deidre, we so enjoyed having you return to the Inn over Halloween weekend! That weekend is always a fun time to be here, with the way many of the beautiful old homes on Summer Street decorate for Halloween! I'm so glad to know how much you enjoyed the Tranquility Suite - our suites with their own private living rooms are, as you noted, especially nice accommodations during these times when guests are not spending much time in indoor common areas. I so appreciate your comments about how much you loved your breakfasts each day. Breakfast is such an important part of a B&B experience, so it was a high priority for us to overcome the challenges it posed during the pandemic. I'm very proud of our staff for helping the Inn continue our tradition of full-service freshly prepared breakfasts in our dining room, maintaining appropriate physical distance between guests and all CDC recommended food service protocols. You may also be interested to know that we've recently added UV air purification systems in our dining rooms and common areas for extra safety! It's so wonderful to hear guests refer to the Inn at English Meadows as their home away from home! Looking forward to welcoming you and your husband back soon!

We stayed at this very charming inn for a total of four nights during our vacation to Maine! In fact, the the last day before we flew home we hadn't booked a room and re-booked after our initial stay because this inn was so awesome! The innkeeper Elizabeth is a warm and caring host that truly makes you feel welcome and special! The daily breakfasts weren't your typical fare either. We had baked oatmeal, poached pears, and a wonderful blueberry scone with blueberries with orange zest were just some of the fabulously delicious items served for a set breakfast! Also, enjoyed breakfast al fresco and the stimulating conversations with the other guests! Elizabeth is also very accommodating for those who have food allergies. After a day of exploring Kennebunkport or surrounding environs, you are welcomed back to some fresh baked goodies! My faves were the lemon mascarpone cookies! YUM!! Chase that down with a Nespresso or one of the Tea Forte teas at your disposal in the foyers! Double YUM!! The room was great! Big fluffy pillows and comforter, and great high end bathroom soap accessories!
Thanks again Elizabeth,
Jerry & Lisa

Our first getaway without children in 19 years and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Even before we arrived we were taken care of with suggestions for dinner reservations and made to feel welcome. The room (Serenity) was calming and had everything we could need. The owner Elizabeth is amazing and has thought of every little detail. Her breakfasts are delicious and beautifully prepared. The whole of the Inn was calming and a lovely mix of old and new. Covid precautions were taken seriously by the staff and other guests. We will definitely be back!!

Where is breakfast served inside? Is it at separate tables or communal? Thanks
Answer from Elizabeth A

Hi! It looks like guests have answered this question about breakfast pretty accurately. To add a bit more detail, we serve breakfast indoors in the colder months (November - April) and when it's raining. Our inside dining room has 4 individual tables which can seat parties of 2 or 4, and one communal table which seats 8.

Hi! I'm the owner and innkeeper and I really appreciate the answers provided here by previous guests! Thank you so much! I would like to add that several of our rooms are on semi-private hallways (with only 1 other room, and no one above or below). If you'd like to call me at the inn, I'd be happy to help you make a selection that would be best for you.

What happened to David and Kate Paris?
Answer from Elizabeth A
Kennebunk, Maine4 contributions
Hello! Thanks for your question. David and Kate Parisi decided last year to sell the inn and move on to other endeavors. They're still fairly local, in the Portland area. Before I bought the business at the end of August, I worked alongside David and Kate through the entire month. This experience provided a valuable opportunity for me to observe and help out with many aspects of the business, become familiar with the day to day operations (especially the magic in the kitchen!) and in the end it enabled a very smooth transition for myself, our staff and our guests. I love this beautiful property, I'm very grateful for support of the Inn's wonderful staff, and thrilled to be the new owner and innkeeper. I hope you'll continue to return to the inn so I'll have a chance to meet you in person. :)
