Loved our stay here! The owners, Eric and Martha were exceptional. Very friendly and provided great service. The room was beautiful and quiet with beautiful views across the street of the meadow and river. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Their adorable daughter helped serve. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
We have been to the Chandler River Inn for the last two years. We were looking for a unique place away from the business of Acadia Park. Eric and Martha Cummings made us feel like part of the family, which included their two delightful children. Having been to Ireland several times, the Chandler River Inn duplicates the Irish Hospitality without the long plane ride. Eric and Martha guided us to unique trails that brought us to the Atlantic Ocean, only meeting a handful of people along the way. We had the whole coast to ourselves across the Atlantic. Martha is an excellent cook who provides a fantastic breakfast. Martha will cook dinner for you at your request. We hope to try that when we go back again in September. You are close to the Canadian Border and can travel to Lubec, Maine, and see the West Quoddy Lighthouse, the most eastern point in the USA. We hope to go back also with our grandchildren in a few years when they can hike with us. Enjoy your stay; you will feel like you got away from all the noise and find peace. …
We stayed here for a wedding, and the accommodations were nothing less than excellent! The owners have recently purchased this business, and are working to improve it. I think they have found a hidden gem. The rooms were clean and spacious, with each one having it's own bathroom. I did not eat the breakfast, but my wife stated that it was excellent. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Very pleasant Inn a few miles outside of Machias. Breakfasts were wonderful. Vegetable crepes were excellent and amazingly fresh, even far better than expensive places in NYC. The room was large, comfortable, with a good mattress and new fixtures, etc. Location is close to a tidal river with nice scenery. Owners are hardworking and know what they are doing.
We were in the area for a wedding and stayed at this Inn, The Owner's of the Inn are exceptional. It is a young couple that are eager to please their guest at the Inn. Pleasant experience all around. Rooms were exceptionally clean and tasteful. Location is very relaxing and close to several coastal towns to explore. Morning meals also excellent, and would highly recommend anyone wishing to explore the area to look at this location to stay.
So went to Jonesport to visit some friends and was rewarded with this lovely Inn. A wonderfully remodeled old house that overlooks the river on 22 acres is a perfect stopover or base for travel or sightseeing. We stayed two nights so we had the opportunity to enjoy two breakfast. Both meals were farm to table gourmet. Martha even allowed our local friends to join us if was phenomenal. The first day she had a choice of three different crepes, we tried them all and there was not one bite left on anyone's plate. The same can be said for the other guest that morning. The second morning she did made to order omelettes with a potato roati and a homemade English muffin. Once again the clean plate club prevailed. I can't say enough about the hospitality and food this place is a must try. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. Charming, good food and a great location base for seeing the surrounding area. Don't miss out give them a shout!…
Driving south from Canada along scenic route one we were tickled to find a room with a king size bed available at this charming lodge. Although very historic the king size bed was wonderful to fall into at the end of a long day on the road. An amazing bonus was their restaurant was located downstairs and we were able to enjoy amazing food and first class service for dinner. An absolute gem along the northern coastline of Maine.
Wonderful fine dining experience in an old yet elegant lodge setting. The staff and service were friendly, attentive and Knew what was offered. Cocktails were well made. Appetize - Mussels in coconut milk, salads with special dressings, and entrees of ribeye, scallops with lobster and crab were superbly prepared and served with sides of carrots and potatoes. Dessert - three different crème brulee's and a slice of double chocolate pie with candle for the birthday girl. This is review of the restaurant. We have not stayed overnight at the lodge.
We have been to Chandler River Lodge so many times we lost count. We have never been disappointed. The staff is wonderfully pleasant and seem to always know just what we enjoy, and they cater to our every need. They always make us feel special. The food is always perfection and served with elegance and delightful presentation. Each course is served in a timely fashion. We hope to enjoy this wonderful place many times in the future.
We stayed one evening at the Chandler River Lodge and mostly enjoyed it. The inn is nicely decorated and the grounds are nicely groomed. Two small detractions--two of the rooms are a nice size but the third bedroom is kind of cramped. Also, on a warm summer evening with the windows open to the breeze, one is aware of the truck noise from US Route 1.
