Detailed Reviews
We have been to the Chandler River Inn for the last two years. We were looking for a unique place away from the business of Acadia Park.
Eric and Martha Cummings made us feel like part of the family, which included their two delightful children.
Having been to Ireland several times, the Chandler River Inn duplicates the Irish Hospitality without the long plane ride.
Eric and Martha guided us to unique trails that brought us to the Atlantic Ocean, only meeting a handful of people along the way. We had the whole coast to ourselves across the Atlantic.
Martha is an excellent cook who provides a fantastic breakfast. Martha will cook dinner for you at your request. We hope to try that when we go back again in September.
You are close to the Canadian Border and can travel to Lubec, Maine, and see the West Quoddy Lighthouse, the most eastern point in the USA.
We hope to go back also with our grandchildren in a few years when they can hike with us.
Enjoy your stay; you will feel like you got away from all the noise and find peace.

It is a lovely bed and breakfast. The vintage decor is warm and homey, Our room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacey and immaculate. Breakfast was different and delicious every day and served by our Innkeepers and their children. There was plenty of places on the property to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors, We enjoyed sitting on the chairs overlooking the river and watching the osprey fish in the river. We would definitely go back.

Loved our stay here! The owners, Eric and Martha were exceptional. Very friendly and provided great service. The room was beautiful and quiet with beautiful views across the street of the meadow and river. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Their adorable daughter helped serve. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

I had never stayed at a B&B before and wanted to try it out while driving Maine's Big Sur. I was warned by a coworker that coastal Maine gets busy in the summer, so I did book online. Otherwise I probably would have tried to walk in. What I walked into was the most hospitable family I've ever met, running a warm, welcoming, friendly place with a great morning meal. I only stayed 1 night but I feel like I spent most of my time getting to know Eric and Martha as well as their daughter. I learned they just bought the place a few years ago and have great plans for the future of the Inn. If you're going to be in the area, book a room and I don't think you're be disappointed. Tell them Brian with the blue Porsche says hi.

This Inn is amazing! The setting along the river is so relaxing. The Inn is spotless and beautifully decorated without being pretentious.
Our hosts made us feel so welcome and their children are a delight.
This is the place to stay while exploring Maine.
We will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed the stay. Very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, and friendly hosts with a family feel. Great spot to explore down east maine. We traveled easily to Roque Bluffs State Park, Cutler Public Land Preserve, Lubec, and Eastport.

Wow, stayed here on my way to Eastport. the staff greeted us at the time we requested(they do not live on site). anything I asked for was delivered immediately(ice, directions, etc.) They serve dinner and it was lovely, there last reservation was at 7:30 but we were waiting for a student friend to take here out to dinner and there was no problem stretching the reservation a few minutes. The dinner was fabulous and the service was excellent. They were so accommodating. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were nice, new, clean, modern which can make or break a place with me. The setting was peaceful and relaxing. Was a great alternative to staying in Machias where I could not find anything that I was sure would meet my standards. Dinner was so good we decide to ask them to just a serve a continental breakfast in the morning. WELL, what a continental. Five different kinds of pastries and muffins to choose from and an exquisite fruit and yogurt platter. Needless to say we ate much more than we planned, can't imagine what the full breakfast is like. This place has recently been purchased and redone, Beth, the owner is so nice. I wish their endeavor much luck. This is a top tier Bed and Breakfast with the added advantage of serving dinner.

We stayed for 2 nights recently at this very fine B and B . It was a lovely setting and beautiful inn.
It is extremely clean and well kept. The owner does not reside on site. Beth, the owner is an exceptional very hard working lady and a most gracious innkeeper and wonderful chef. Her
breakfasts were delicious and presented so well. She is so helpful and took the time to answer
all our questions about the area. She and her family also run the Blueberry Ranch restaurant in Machias Maine which has great variety and good food. I highly recommend this BandB

Absolutely awesome family that owns this beautiful and historic home. I give it 5 stars because 10 isn’t a choice.
Had the time of my life and the owner, Martha is an absolutely talented and amazing chef. I stayed here a week while visiting the most eastern and northern point in the US. I felt so well taken care of by this incredible host and wonderful family. Easy access to town and again, the breakfast was fantastic. Loved it and plan to return soon.

We had to cancel our booked accommodation at the last minute and found ourselves in desperate need of two rooms for the night in the middle of DownEast Maine. We came upon The Chandler Inn by accident and what a find it was! The Innkeeper and chef were gracious, wonderfully accommodating and the dinner was delicious and superbly prepared. Breakfast was a "to-die-for" delight! It's steeped in local history and even has some ghost stories that have been published by a local author. We will definitely return to this spot on our next Maine trip. Thank you for a fabulous stay. Highly Recommended.

That's a good idea. The restaurant is an upscale, reservation-based fine dining establishment. They serve dinner to a small group of people with a menu based on select entrees that Emily chooses. When we stayed there, a group of friends and acquaintances had dinner and they must have had a marvelous time, because we enjoyed hearing their laughter floating upstairs. We didn't get to eat dinner, but the breakfast she served for lodgers was outstanding! Fresh fruit, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and a luscious dessert made from meringue and fresh raspberries. It was divine!
