We absolutely loved everything about the cabins and the area.. what a treat this was to stay here for a few nights ! We came for our a family members birthday and it was perfect. Falling asleep each night to loon song from our open widows.. enjoying a warm fire daily, soaking in a large jet tub, and uninterrupted family time. Kayaking, Moose watching, collecting rocks to paint and leafs to press with the kids, the list goes on. Moosehead hills cabins helped rejuvenate and refresh my body & soul. I cannot wait to return.
We stayed at Loon Lodge for 3 nights with another couple. We arrived in Greenville one hour before check in, so were a little concerned we were too early and were prepared to drive around Greenville for an hour. We were met by our host, Sally, who cheerfully replied that that would be fine and gave us directions to our cabin. When we arrived everything was just beautiful; from the gorgeous cathedral windows looking out on Lower Wilson Pond (AKA Loon Lake), to the stone gas fireplace, the cheerful, modern red and black kitchen, the large table for lots of eating, games, puzzles etc. The place was immaculate from top to bottom. Both bedrooms (main floor and lower level) had sliding glass doors to the outside, which made it easy to slip out quietly for pictures of the mist off the lake in the early morning. The kitchen was beautifully stocked. Both we and our friends are foodies and cooked some pretty complicated dishes while we were there, and we found everything we needed. On the second night, we found that the oven wasn't working. As we needed it for dinner that had already been prepared, we reluctantly called Sally and Bill (it was dinner time). Bill came out immediately (a 20 min drive for him) and after examining the stove, said it would need a new heating element, but that would take some time as there is no kitchen supply place near Greenville. He and Sally drove nearly an hour the next morning to buy a new stove which they delivered and installed at the cabin before noon the next day! Incidentally, we cooked our whole meal when the oven broke on the gas grill, including an apple crostata! It was delicious! We did some exploring of Greenville, including the B-52 Memorial (amazing) and the Moosehead Maritime Museum. We would have loved to have taken a boat trip on the Katahdin but we ran out of time. We are definitely going to return next year, but for longer. Greenville is a beautiful area and we wouldn't stay anywhere else but Moosehead Hills Cabins! Thank you Sally and Bill for a most wonderful get-a-way!…
We can't say enough about our short stay at this beautiful cabin. We wish we could have stayed longer. Everything about this cabin was so detailed and cozy and we felt right at home from the moment we entered. The water views were absolutely gorgeous and we took full advantage of the sunrise each day. We will definitely be back. Thank you to our hosts. Highly recommend.
Wonderful experience, highly recommend. Excellent location- 10 minutes outside of the town of Greenville, on tons of land, a short walk from the lake with only a few other cabins. Great amenities- Wood burning stove, grill outside of door, comfy bed, great shower, perfectly clean, all the kitchen cooking items needed. Complimentary use of canoes, although it was a little too chilly and windy to use. Nature trails on the property. Perfect jump off to explore the region. Wish we could have stayed longer, would love to come back.
What a wonderful cabin! So we’ll equipped with all the comforts of home. Loved the waterfront, beach area, relaxing deck. A great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. The view was amazing from every angle.
