We have come back year after year and will continue to. It is so relaxing and beautiful here! This year we saw 5 moose...two from our kayaks up close and personal! The fishing is great, views spectacular and so quiet and peaceful. Christie and Dana are fantastic hosts. Would also recommend a fall visit when the foliage is amazing!

Great place to get away from it all, also dog friendly!!! Nice and quiet, with cabins that arn't bare bones rustic, but also have a few amenities that make it feel like home (like an indoor water pump!!)

My husband and I stayed at Spencer Pond Camps in June. It was by far a true high light of our trip to Maine. We loved the simplicity of everything as well as the thought out information and up keep of the grounds. It is BEAUTIFUL. We were stayed in Lunkers Lodge which by far my favorite location at the... The location is fantastic, the only camp on the pond so allot of nice and quiet. Views are lovely. Fished off our own dock and were catching fish within minutes. Dana and Christy are fantastic and make you feel very welcome. Really has the feel of the old-time turn of the century hunting camps which is awesome. We stayed in... More

Spencer Pond Camps is one of the most wonderful place I have ever been. I loved pumping my own water in the morning, going on a nature boat ride with Dana, starting my own fire every morning and the wonderful peace this hidden place has to offer. I can't wait to come back!!

We have enjoyed our vacations here for 4 years now--twice in the late fall and twice in the early spring. Each time has been very special and beautiful. Great hikes and explorations all around the area! But, just relaxing at the cabin is also just as wonderful. Christy, Dana and their girls are perfect for this place and you can... More

My family of 5 stayed at Spencer Pond Camps in the Sabatowan in July. It was an experience that will stay with us forever. Even our 17 year old daughter found retreat. We stayed for an entire week, but still we were not ready to return to modern life. We had become accustomed to the quiet, simplicity, and opportunity for... More

We spent 3 nights at Spencer Pond Camps and will go back for more! This is a unique experience - many miles down dirt logging roads to the only camp on Little Spencer Pond, just at the base of Big Spencer Mountain. It is a rustic stay - older cabins with hand pump at sink for water, no electric or... More

We found Spencer Pond Camps in a desire to escape and unplug for a few days - and in our stay we regained a much-needed peace of mind and connection with nature. As a young couple, we stayed in the adorable Cricket Cabin and it was the perfect fit for us. Unplugging from technology was a welcome relief, and we... More

We are familiar with stays in rustic cabins, while all are unique some are just a bit more interesting. We found Spencer Pond Camps to be in this category, its remote location on the rim of the unspoiled serene Spencer Pond & surrounding woods; in-room well pump; wood burning stove; propane lamps; shower bladder; helpful earnest proprietors and even the... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unwind "unplugged and off the grid" in natural beauty, the way life used to be. Built in 1901, Spencer Pond Camps are an authentic and historic Maine Sporting Camp. They are the only cabins on the pond and sit in the shadow of Little Spencer Mountain. 14 miles via dirt roads from our closest neighbors, on an undeveloped and scenic pond. Recognized as an environmental leader, we offer you a choice of six rustic wilderness lakeside housekeeping cabins - each with its own unique personality. The cabins are fully furnished for comfort including screened porches, rocking chairs, woodstoves, libraries and homemade quilts on the beds.Canoes and kayaks are provided free of charge. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere, non-modernized without electricity and reminiscent of "Little House in the Big Woods" these cabins will take you back in time. ... more   less
