The Mooring is a quiet elegant Inn on the coast of Maine. It is the former home of Walter Reid the donor of Reid State Park right down the road. Five unique rooms all with an ocean view, private baths and A/C. Beautiful grounds and gardens surround the Mooring, providing a magnificent site for a wedding. A heart Maine breakfast is served each morning in the breakfast room facing the ocean.

We were in Georgetown for a wedding, and The Mooring provided an easy access room for my 95 year old mother who uses a walker. The room was beautifully appointed (as were all the rooms) complete with fresh flowers from their gardens, and the private balcony offered her a peaceful respite for reading and a gorgeous view of the ocean and wedding colonnades. But, the piece de resistance, was the INCREDIBLE breakfasts created by Renee, our Innkeeper, and her warmth and kindness to us as guests. We ate breakfast every day on the large deck porch (of course, ocean side) with socially distanced tables. I cannot say enough about this beautiful B&B, and the hospitality. And the breakfast. Did I mention the breakfast?! Wow!

If you are looking for a restorative stay, an ocean view from your room, and warm, personalized service, The Mooring is for you. Renee, the host makes you feel at home right away. Her incredible cooking and attention to detail is second to none. The Mooring stands out above others B & B 's as Renee customizes breakfasts: eggs to order, accommodates dietary restrictions such as gluten and dairy free with delicious offerings such as quiche with potato crust, savory corn muffins, blueberry banana muffins and more. The views are stunning, the place is intimate, and its prime location is less than a mile from Reid State Park. This stay impressed us so much that we plan to start a tradition of going to The Mooring that we hope will last for many years to come.

After staying with family on Five Islands for many years, we stayed at the Moorings for two nights. Renee welcomed us graciously and provided a tour of the house. We had brought some wine in cheese due to our late arrival, and we enjoyed it on the beautiful veranda with its VIEW. We slept like babies in the comfy pink room's bed, and kept the windows open even in the drizzle. Breakfast was amazing--home made crostini from peaches and plums, eggs to our liking, fruit, and excellent coffee. So many beautiful views of the cove from almost every room in the house. A restful and happy visit!

We have been enjoying our visits to the Mooring for almost 10 years. It is always a wonderful experience with outstanding and varied breakfasts, a comfortable room with a great view, fresh flowers both inside and out, and with the welcoming and always helpful cook and hostess Karen. It’s location is on a hillside above the ocean only a mile from Reid State Park with its two ocean beaches, warm water lagoon and rocky shore with picnic tables along the top - a combination that is hard to beat.

An absolute gem. Karen, the owner and innkeeper of the Mooring makes every minute from check in to check out a relaxing comfortable experience. From the comfortable rooms to the hot delicious breakfast that is cooked and served every morning, each day passes too quickly. The porch and deck have open ocean views and are well furnished. Passes to Reid State are available to guests. That the park is only a mile away is a bonus.

We have been staying at this Inn for several years. It is absolutely wonderful. Our hostess this year was Karen, and she was sure to take care of our every need and made us feel right at home. She prepared wonderful breakfasts, which we enjoyed in the dining room with beautiful ocean views. Reid State Park, one of the most beautiful beaches in Maine is minutes away. Our room was lovely, immaculate and cozy, also with a beautiful view of the ocean. We can’t wait to go back to our favorite part of the Maine coast and stay at our very favorite B&B.

We had an amazing 2-night stay, and everything was just perfect. The meeting space was well-appointed, making our work sessions productive and comfortable. The food throughout our stay was exceptional, and the highlight was the fantastic dinner for our group of 9—truly a memorable experience and by far the best lobster. The hospitality was warm and attentive, making us feel well taken care of. We highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back again!

We came back to The Mooring again for several days to celebrate our anniversary. We've enjoyed this B&B several times in recent years, and this visit didn't disappoint. Sadly, the owner/innkeeper Penny wasn't able to be there this year, but a friend of hers (Renee) ably filled in for her. Breakfasts were fantastic, generally prepared to your specific order. The rooms were clean and lovingly cared for, as always, but with with the understanding that no one would come into your room again until you checked out. We were extremely pleased, as always.

We were at The Mooring with a large family group (all adults) who took over the entire inn to attend a nearby wedding. It was perfection. Our room was absolutely lovely and overlooked the water. All of the other rooms looked very nice as well, especially the downstairs room. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the service was great! Breakfast was absolutely lovely; we had a couple of dietary restrictions which they went out of their way to meet! A++

My husband and I came across The Mooring B & B after we had spent a relaxing afternoon at Reid State Park 1/2 mile beach late August, 2004. We were trying to figure out what town we should head to in order to find a place to stay for the evening. About a half mile from the park, we saw The Mooring B & B sign and it looked lovely from the road.

The friendly owner, Penny showed me the rooms available. As she was booked for the week-end for a wedding we were only able to spend one night but the room was a beautiful, comfortable room with a window which opened to the ocean and through which a lovely breeze blew through. There are many antiques in the home, many of which were owned by Penny's ancestors. Penny's great-grandmother owned the premises until three years ago when she died at the age of 103 years of age. Penny then did the renovations necessary to bring the rooms, electrical, etc. up to standard. The result is a comfortable home situate by the ocean.

Penny welcomed us and took us on a tour of the house after we were settled in the room. We were made to feel very welcome--we could sit on the deck at night with coffee and tea (kettle, mugs, coffee pot, tea bags, sugar, milk and cream all provided in the kitchen or in little corners through the house), or we could walk down a path to sit and watch the boats returning from a day's fishing. Reading material was plentiful and ranged from touring around Maine to the latest in news.

Breakfast was awesome!!! As we enjoyed coffee/tea, we watched the boats leaving for the day's fishing and enjoyed quiet moments down by the ocean. Even the family which included children had no complaints about breakfast and the children had plenty of room to play outside. We started with coffee, tea, juice, hot muffins, cereal, followed by waffles, eggs, hot toast, and homemade jams.

Had Penny not been booked for the week-end, we would have stayed another night or two. When we return to Maine, we will be trying to get a room at The Mooring.
