This fully-renovated Victorian inn, located two blocks from L.L. Bean, features private baths, wifi, filtered and softened water, electric car chargers, Jacuzzis and a fireplace. We use products from local vendors in our hot, homemade breakfast. This is your home away from home. No smoking or pets.
This Inn is wonderful!!! The rooms are beautiful and so cozy and clean. You can't ask for better hosts. Bill and Mary Ann are wonderful people and do a superb job. I would highly recommend the James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast for your stay in Freeport.

Perfect stay. We were looking to shop LLBean & needed a night to sleepover. Of course we could stay at the typical road side hotels, but they can be so commercial & cold. This B&B fit the bill to a tee. Perfect location, walking distance to town for shopping & restaurants. The lodging home itself is clean, crisp sheets, comfy bed & warm blankets for the chilly fall night. We stayed in the blue room, one Queen for my husband and I & one twin for our adult daughter. The breakfast is a must. Home cooked pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt & homemade granola & scones. Shout out to the owners Bill & Mary! Thank you for hosting :)

We stayed at this lovely Bed & Breakfast for the weekend of a family wedding nearby. The owners were away the weekend we were there, but we had extremely knowledgeable and professional interim innkeepers. The multi-course breakfasts were simply stupendous! We did have a problem with the heating in our first floor room, which the interim innkeepers did everything in their power to resolve. When I mentioned the issue to the owner Mary Ann, she went far beyond anything I could have imagined to make up for the inconvenience! I would highly recommend this beautiful property and would certainly choose to stay again the next time we are in the area!

This inn is conveniently located within walking distance of the shopping areas in Freeport. There is ample parking for guests. The photos on the website are representative of the room that we had. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was served in the dining area and was delicious. Guests were asked to reserve a time as the inn was full when we were there. This was our first visit to this inn and we would come again. The only caveat is that like many homes that have had bathrooms added to accommodate guests, the bathroom that we had was tiny. We are average to small size and someone who may be a plus size may have some difficulty in fitting into the shower. This comment was for the bathroom in the Taupe Room. Other rooms may have larger showers and this may not be an issue. If you are a larger person, you may want to ask the host before booking your room.…

The location of the Inn is perfect for a trip to Freeport. It’s so close to the main shopping. We stayed in the blue room and it was perfect for us. Definitely recommend- clean, adorable and great location. Stayed with my adult daughter and I on a weekend trip to Maine. Hot tip - check out the Oyster bar- great food and drinks!

The James Place Inn exceeded all expectations. Our room was clean, lovely, and inviting. Mary Ann and Bill were great hosts and the breakfast was delicious. I have a gluten intolerance and my meal was made to accomidate my needs... including gluten free homemade scones. Their attention to detail and friendly interaction with guests made this the perfect place for a long Maine weekend stay.
