This must be the fourth time we have stayed here. What can I say, we love the old style cabins! The kids get to have their own rooms and I get to play with fire in the fireplace ;). The WiFi is spotty, but that just means I don't get bugged by work emails all the time. Great value for... More

What can I say? I love building fires: the cabins with a fireplace call me! The old style cabins are rustic and basic. The Motor Court cabins are located between Rt 1 and Rt 295, so some of the cabins can be quite noisy with traffic/car noise at night. This time we stayed in Cabin 3 and the noise was... More

I spent three nights in Cabin #1 in late September and enjoyed it very much. The cabin was immaculate, comfortable, cozy, and convenient. Much of my time was spent with friends in Portland or exploring the countryside of southern Maine, but my evenings and mornings in the cabin were very pleasant. The cabin's kitchenette was quite satisfactory for fixing breakfasts... More

My cousin and I stayed in cabin 14 for one night. The little kitchenette let us heat up our dinner (we had brought it along knowing we would arrive quite late). The beds were comfortable and the bathroom adequate. The reviews that say there is highway noise are correct. Other cottages are farther from the traffic. I am sure they... More

Went to Freeport for wedding on 8/22/15 where the reception was held at the Hilton Garden Inn. All guests were offered rooms there at a discounted rate, which was $250 a night !! Found the Idyll Motor Court was about 2 miles away for $100 and couldn't have been happier. Great little 1 or 2 bedroom cabins right on Rt.... More

Great location near Freeport and LL Bean! Very nice wooded area with cozy little cabins which take you back to a different time when life was slower and more relaxation time. Each cabin is a little different then all the others which makes it kind of unique. Very clean and well kept!

Finding places to stay on a long road trip needs a lot of planning and I'm always grateful for the reviews on Tripadvisor because reading the details of other travellers experiences really helps me make my decisions. I'm SO glad I read about the Maine Idyll Motor Court...it truly is a gem. We stayed at MIMC in August for one... More

Fellow traveler MellowD17 said it very well -- see further below. You can't stay at this wonderful place if you're accustomed to modern chains. We stayed here precisely because it *wasn't* a modern chain. It's unique and lovely. We stayed in cabin 11 for four nights. You can pull your vehicle right up to the room, which makes for easy... We were traveling in New England and stayed at this location. The price was low and wanted to stay in a location in Freeport. The place looked cute from the road and the young girl at the main office was very nice. WiFi was not good in all locations of the cabins but we were put in a cabin near... More

This is a great place for people and dogs. They have 20 cottages with differing amenities. All have kitchens with some having fireplaces with wood supplied. There are BBQ grilles located throughout the property for use. Dogs are very welcome. Our cottage had 2 queen beds with a working kitchen with plates, utensils and pans. The cottages are serviced everyday... More
