With a main lodge and nine cottages, Echo Lake Lodge and Cottages offers a classic lakefront vacation. We have many shared amenities such as a sandy beach and swim float, several boats, a firepit (wood provided), and gas grills. We welcome group rentals, events, weddings, reunions, leaf peepers, hunters, fishermen, etc. The lodge has 8 bedrooms. Some have private bathrooms, others share. Our living room is filled with comfortable seating, a piano, and a fieldstone fireplace. We offer a wide selection of books, games, and toys for all ages. The front porch features rocking chairs and a ping pong table, while the game room holds a pool table. Our expansive deck has bench seating, picnic tables, an event-size gas grill, and has our wheelchair lift. Nine rustic cottages have quick access to the lakefront. In varying sizes, they sleep from 2 to 5 people. Each cottage has a private bathroom and well-equipped kitchenette. All have either a deck or screened porch, some have both! Gas grills and picnic tables are available for your use. Many tall hemlocks provide shady spots while our lawn and beach area gets good sun all day. Fish from our docks and waterfront for bass, sunfish, and the like, or take one of our boats out to seek trout, splake, and others. Drive 30 minutes in several directions for excellent golf, disc golf, horseback riding, antiquing, fine dining, zoos, and museums. In the winter, we are less than a mile from several snowmobile trails with easy access to the ITS system. Several cross country ski areas with groomed trails are close by, downhill ski areas are a 45-minute drive. Our property and lake offer the opportunity to break your own trails on skis or snow shoes, and we have a small collection of equipment available for you to use. Staying with us is easy. Options include single rooms and suites in the lodge or one of the cottages for just one night, or as long as you want to stay. Lodge guests get limited kitchen privileges. Catered meals can be arranged. Group rentals of the lodge make the building yours exclusively, with a 2-night minimum stay. We can accommodate groups up to 50 people during the warmer months (May - Oct), and up to 20 during the winter.

This is an older property however the lodge part was rebuilt about 5 years ago. My husband's Vietnam era platoon buddies get together once a year somewhere in the country. This year we went to Echo Lake Lodge and Cottages on the recommendation of one of the couples who vacationed at this resort many times. Our group rented the entire lodge and 6 of the cabins. The lodge was great for our needs. We always look for a place that can accommodate at least 18 people and have a large enough meeting area and cooking facilities. One of the guys who does a lot of the cooking stated he loved the layout of the kitchen. It worked very well. Grills, ovens, range, refrigerator, and freezer all worked well. Beautiful spot but as stated in other reviews, there is some maintenance that needs to be done to the grounds and the cabins. The cabins are original as best as I could make out. No Ritz but ok. The owners and staff were still cleaning when our group arrived. There was a much larger group than ours there the weekend before which had just left that day. Smell of cleaning products was very strong for the first night and into the next day. It was too cold to even think about open windows to air out. The first night was the worst for all of us in the cabins and the lodge. It was cold out and damp. Cabins have little space heaters which once I figured them out worked fine. By the next day at the lodge, the heat was sorted out. Overall, ok. Stay in the lodge if you want something more up to date. Btw, wifi only works in the lodge and it is terrible.

The place is completely run down and the grounds are so unkempt that walking was difficult at best. The building burnt a couple of years ago and all they have done is wipe the walls off in places. We were first sent to a cottage and it reeked so bad and was obvious the prior guest had drank too much alcohol and threw up all over the place! The floors looked as if they had never been washed and dirty dishes were piled in the sink! We were then given a suite in the lodge and the building did not have heat and it was 35 degrees that night! Unfinished buildings and grounds that will require at least two years of work to make this place an 'exceptional' place. Does sit on a lake but that is the only positive about this run down place! The smell of gas was so strong in the kitchen it gave me a headache within minutes. Bugs will eat you alive!

We reserved one night as a stop for a long journey. Once we arrived, we couldn't believe how amazing the whole location was! For the affordable price of the lodge, I was baffled at how beautiful, private and resourceful the place was. We had our own private kitchen, bathroom and two queen sized beds. The wifi signals were strong, and we could take out the canoe and kayaks whenever we want! We had to arrive past check in time, so we called ahead and the owner, James, was very helpful and nice and stayed up til 10 pm just to give us our keys. The lodge was spotless when given to us. This is a beautiful location and a great hotel. I would definitely return for a much longer stay!

Absolutely loved this place the rustic cottages basically all have great views of the lake. The beach area and grassy area is perfect for swimming and having a nice meal on the lake. They offer motorboat rentals and free use of canoes and kayaks for a great day on the lake. The lodge has a pool table, huge commercial like kitchen, and an amazing original fireplace. The cottage was very cozy and makes you feel at one with the Maine wilderness.

This is a great place to get away from it all. My family and I booked this location because our original hotel could not accommodate us. Granted, I was a bit apprehensive about a cottage but now I'm hooked. The cottages are right on the shores of Parker Lake. Nothing fancy, just nice basic accommodations. The cottages are rustic. Surprisingly it was chilly and behold we have space heaters to warm things up. The rooms also have ceiling fans for the real summer days. Our lodgings have a convenient kitchen supplied with basic cooking ware, dishes, utensils, etc. Although there is no TV, wifi is available. Oops, did I mention there is a lovely screened in porch to have the morning coffee, read or just veg-out. Boating is available but we didn't take advantage of this feature. If you decide to visit access is down a long dirt road. And yes, the beds are comfy!
