We have stayed here quite a few times in the past. We liked to stay because the previous owners really supported the area, and provided rooms at very good rates to local people during power outages or family emergencies. It was always very friendly and felt like home. Now under new management, it is more expensive, there are no coffee... More

This motel is older but priced accordingly. The room was clean and had lots of space. No breakfast or WiFi but a frig and microwave in the room. Coffee was available all day in the lobby. Our room was in the front but we did not hear road noise.

The sign out front displays an $89 rock bottom rate, which is low for the busy national park gateway town of Ellsworth. We arrived late in the day and without a reservation, so we were glad to get a double for $119, tax included. We got room 227, which is a spacious, very quiet room at the end of the... More

Booked weeks in advance, got the wrong room and got charged for two rooms. The refund on our card won't happen until a week from now, after our vacation. They didn't just refund us the difference. Also, the communication between the workers and the managers/bosses is horrible and nobody had any clue how to fix anything. I would not recommend... More

We stayed at the Colonial Inn, and we were disappointed in the room condition. This place needs to be remodeled! The ceiling tiles over the shower were dirty and looked like mold was growing on it. Who knows what is in the carpet!! The room decor is out-of-date by about 50 years. I realize there is a room type for... More

Got a good rate dropping in our first nite in maine $91 +/- with the taxes. Room was in back. Left to see Bar Harbor and returned to find another couple in room we'd been given key for!? Upgraded to larger room that was quiet and bed comfortable enough. Internet worked, fridge available. This is no frills, but beats BarHarbor... More

Booked two months in advance and was not disappointed! Super clean rooms and comfortable beds! The pool was amazing and they even provided "noodles" for relaxing in the pool! Close to everything but not noisy! Good coffee in the lobby. Will definetly go back.

Positives: efficient check-in, the room was clean and quiet, with adequate a/c and wifi. Pillow wasn't too fat. Firm mattress. Negatives: overpriced. Our suite did not appear "newly renovated" as the sign promised, unless fresh caulk counts. Dinky bathroom, have to lean over the tub to close the door. Towels were small and thin. The "fitness room" appeared to be... More

Some rooms are still to be renovated and may have strong odor of a cleaner. Pool is very nicely temp controlled. Some rooms have a kitchenette which came in handy. Most have a fridge. About 35 minutes away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
