We were a large group and the 5 bedroom house was perfect. Kitchen had the essentials, big sitting room, comfortable beds and hot showers. Half the price of a rental on MDI, worth the 30 minute drive to Acadia. Didn't get a chance to BBQ but we will be back. Cottages are a nice view on the sunset

We stayed in an apartment. Things are basic and old, which was fine, but oddly arranged and somewhat disfunctional. The owners try hard I think, but their efforts are hit and miss. The storm door did not close unless you hefted up the handle, which could easily be fixed by aligning it correctly. We were told that Internet was intermittent. It was non existent unless one went outside to the east of the 'farmhouse'. This could be easily remedied. There is no office. The owners seem to live in one of the cottages behind a house, and perhaps a tent or 2 set up on the far side of the property. It's an odd place with toddlers outside mostly unsupervised. There was no interaction or communication with the owners/management except by an older, somewhat weird, gentleman who came to chat us up a few times. The backyard area is a mess with odd green camo barriers set up, kids toys, and some old barbecues which didn't appear serviceable. There was also a bonfire area filled with construction debris. This backyard goes into the woods and could be a lovely place. A guide to tv stations would be helpful as well as some information about the area. There was a bundled stack of old tourist information newspapers on the porch of the 'farmhouse' which looked as if they had been there for months. There were no coathangers in the closet. Was told we would get an email the day before arrival with check in info but it came the afternoon of our arrival, which was problematic for other guests who arrived at night, with no cell service, and were clueless as to what to do. Would not stay here again.

The young owners were pleasant and attempted to rectify issues, but did not give it their full and professional attention to ensure we were satisfied. We did come in to a very clean and well kept cottage. However, we realized the hot water was not on. I notified the owners who, that evening, changed out the water heater located one unit over and serviced the last 3 cottages. After that we still did not have hot water. The next day they worked on it again assured me it was fixed. when we returned from a day at the National Park, we checked and it came out warm, but never got hot. Within 5 minutes, there was not even warm water. By then it was 10pm, so we went to bed. The next day (departure day) there was still no hot water. We left early in the morning never to return. The very small desk heater did not keep us warm the second day/night since it got down to high 30's after then assured us that the small unit should keep us toasty. They also never fixed the outlet in the bathroom. They seem to work hard and want to succeed, however, they need to address issues quickly and follow up as professionals. The cottage was $115 per night and without hot water or great heat the entire stay it was not worth it.In addition, they advertise a TV, but there is no cable and there were only 4 DVD's to play. All of which were killing/action movies. Just poor amenities with entertainment. The wi-fi hardly every worked, although they did tell us that we get better reception closer to the main building. And, I would not recommend unless they run the facility in a more professional manner.

We spent a night here and found the cottages charming, clean, and private. The bedding was a little faded, but we really enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. The shower was great, but you need to run the water a while to get it hot. Cottages near the end have trouble getting wifi so we didn't have data, but that could be an easy fix if they add a repeater.

This was very different than conventional hotel stays. One bed cottage, very clean, quaint. No check in desk, you are given your cottage number and the key is in the cottage. We had the last cottage that was extremely close to the road but surprisingly it was very quiet. Had microwave and refrigerator. Great hassle free stay. Wifi was spotty but was an inexpensive stay to visit Bar Harbor.
