Nice layout for RVs, though I was staying in a cottage on site. Loved access to the pond for fishing & canoeing. Really liked that the resort is off the main road; separated by a dirt road that lends seclusion to the RV Resort. Lots of trees! Beautiful area. Easy drive to Ellsworth for shopping & dining.
We would not recommend this site due to the lack of good water and no price break on the Full Hook up price. And then to limit customers to 2 gallons of water a day and then reduce that to 1 gallon a day is totally unacceptable. Site was OK, not stellar, and somewhat small in size. We did spend much time directly in the site, partly because of the water concern and the interest in site seeing in the area.
At the time we stayed, the water was contaminated and we were under a boiled water order. The cause, according to the posted notice, was a faulty water filtration system that had been down since sometime in Aug (our stay was mid-Sep). Additionally, although clean, our stay in the cabin we rented was marred by the discomfort of their beds. The bed consisted of a plywood platform with a thick foam mat, not really a mattress, on top. We woke up multiple times in the night from the pain inflicted on our shoulders and hips. We ended up purchasing an air mattress from the local Walmart in order to get a decent night rest for the rest of our stay. Recommend anyone else who rents a cabin to do the same.
We wanted to just relax and that’s exactly what we did. Both of our vacation weeks this year were destroyed by rain, so at least we got a couple days with sunshine to just hang out in the sun. Will definitely be back.
Pros: The Pond! Beautiful pond area with clear, shallow water for swimming. Fantastic. Also, a firepit and picnic table on our tent site. Lovely hot water in the showers. Cons: Tent site so uneven that it was difficult to squeeze in our 8 person tent plus a vehicle. Toilets were cleaned once a day but quickly became blocked and dirty. Showers and dishwashing area looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time - we couldn't put our clean dishes down anywhere while washing them, it was that dirty. And a boil water notice was posted while we were there as the water supply was not safe to drink.
Cabin was nice, screens a little stretched. Campground was nice and quiet. Staff was very friendly. Nice lake to sit by or swim in. Shower Section was nice to have solid door on them. Having a laundry room available was good. Bathrooms were keep clean.
Overall it is a nice campground. Showers were very dirty. well Water quality needs to be monitored. Was sick 2 days because of the water. A boil water advisory went into effect. Not far from downtown Ellsworth and major stores.
We had a good experience at Patten Pond Camping resort. We rented one of their cottages for 2 nights. It was clean and specious and had everything we needed. The management was very responsive: Our mattress was worn out and we had a difficult time sleeping on it the first night. they switched it to a new one the next day.
Stayed there in an RV site and an 'apartment' with my motorcycle buddies (3 in the RV, 3 in the Apartment). Reservations/checkin was painless, staff was friendly and helpful. Store had the basics and the quality of the firewood they sold was superb. Sites were well maintained, quiet, a bit dusty but that's just due to the location and the weather. Pond was refreshing to swim in.
Campsite sucked. It was too small and it had no fire pit to cook over. We had to go out to eat because there was no fire pit to cook over. Our camper was on one side of the spot and our suburban was on the other side. There wasn’t even room for us to put the picnic table under the awning that we couldn’t set up because of ls j of yarn.
