This was a cozy little surprise on a rainy, dreary weekend. The GM was very kind with a great dinner restaurant rec. right down the road. Breakfast was light and perfect and the entire building was spotless, warm and inviting. A return trip is an absolute!

All the staff that we had contact with were clearly well versed in customer service. At the continental breakfast the hostess very quickly went and wiped of tables once the guest had left the dining room. Everything in the dining area and in the room was clean. If you were staying 2 nights or more while they generally try to demonstrate conservation, if you wanted new towels there was a system in place so that you would know how to seamlessly communicate that.
The room and bathroom were a little older, but I did like having the shower and toilet area separate from the sink area. It is also located on a high traffic road and there was some road noise if you wanted to sit out on the balconey to read.

+1
Clean rooms comfortable beds. Very quite interior. The restroom is separate from the sinks so 3 people can get ready without being ontop of each other. Enjoyed the rear balcony especially watching the sunset. Would recommend staying here and is very reasonably priced for the area.

This property changed hands after 9 years. The previous couple that ran the Cod Cove Inn deserved all those beautiful reviews below. This was our experience with the new management:
We had called ahead to let the front desk know we would arrive after 10. We drove up from a funeral in Newburgh, NY that day. We were told the key would be in the red box by the front door. It was not there when we arrived at around 10:20. Both my husband and I checked multiple times, but no key was to be found anywhere. The Inn door was locked. There was no one at the front desk. We rang the bell several times. We called the inn two times standing outside the door (we could hear the phone ring while standing outside), and left two voicemails. It was cold, late, and we were not sure we would be able to find any other hotel that night. We called again when we finally found a room in Bath, later that night, and left another voicemail, to ask for a refund for that night. We never got a call back. We went back the next day, because we had booked two nights. Two young women were at the front desk. We asked for a refund for the previous night. They were initially not very apologetic, and even suggested a key must have been there. They also said they themselves were there. They were not—we could see the front desk the from where we stood. We explained again what actually happened, and how we had to backtrack late at night to find a place to stay. We were refunded $227.81, the Friday night rate, which seemed a kindness after all we had to deal with. After we came home we were astounded to see we were re-charged for the $227.81. After emailing the Inn, they owner said we would not be refunded, because the key was in the red box all along, so this was our mistake. Our phone records will show we did call multiple times from right outside the inn. The nice desk person at the Hampton Inn in Bath can testify to us explaining why we were so grateful a room could still be had there late at night. She gracefully held it for us while we made our way back there. We are currently disputing the charge with our credit card company. The hotel owner wrote he will vigorously fight this.

The Cod Cove Inn was clean and the owners were friendly and accommodating. Delicious homemade muffins were included in the continental breakfast. Our kids sledded on the back hill which had water views. We will come back next time we’re in the area!

Ownership change and the current manager would not honor a previous contract for a block of wedding rooms. I called to cancel one night due to a death and the manager never acknowledged my call, gave me no return call demanded I pay for two nights. He yelled at me over a cellphone call and would not talk calmly with me. The desk manager also was very rude. I would have left if I had other arrangements for the wedding night. Very rude service.

Very disappointing considering the price - establishment is clearly taking advantage of being the only option in the area. The room had no USB ports, no house phone, and the room had not had a good cleaning in some time, based on the amount of dust present. The sink was in poor repair. There was a meager supply of coffee creamers, and a request at the desk for more went unfulfilled.

High on a hill above the river, this is an excellent, central location for jaunts in all directions. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are nice views of the river from the breakfast room, and wonderful beds. The second-floor rooms must have beautiful views - our first-floor room had a partial view of the river and woods and a balcony with chairs and table. The room was clean and very comfortable. The cons: Be aware that the doors are exterior if that's an issue for you. The price is a little steep in our opinion as this is not deluxe lodging. We arrived with one bad surprise: no hot water! We would have appreciated knowing before we arrived (if possible), as once we were there late in the day it would have been very hard to find another room elsewhere, so we felt kind of stuck. Luckily it was fixed the next afternoon. Despite this glitch (things happen), the inn is a good place to stay and the staff are welcoming and helpful!

We do intend to stay here again but will bring some food with us because their breakfast offering was not good at all. The room was spacious and very clean. All rooms look out toward the west so you can watch the sunset. You can walk out onto your little area to have some wine if you chose. The beds were fairly comfortable, a little hard but you might like that. The location was really good as a jump-off point to the entire region, and even though it is a short distance from Rt 1, there was little road. We would request to be on the first floor, which is where we stayed this past time.

We have been here previous years summer and winter and loved the friendly couple owners who made sure all guests were comfortable including homemade berry muffins for breakfast. We went with friends for Gardens Alglow and we’re so disappointed. The inn has obviously been sold. Our room would not lock, renovations were apparently going on with boxes inside and outside everywhere including the breakfast room. Breakfast was minimal with packaged muffins. So sorry we will not be back
