We stayed 1 night on our way up to Acadia. Location was excellent, right off Rt 1. Room was super clean and had a nice view., sits atop a hill. Very cozy and quaint and best of all, they allow dogs. Of course, there is an extra fee! Very quiet area and not to far from some eateries, try the Barnhouse Grill, great burgers. Only complaint or should I say disappointment was the breakfast which they advertise as a full breakfast. I guess our interpretation and theirs is a bit different. There were mostly carbs and in the only 2 hot/steam pans were home fries and sticky buns! Nothing to accompany the home fries like eggs or waffles. And no orange juice available. I think they need to revamp the breakfast, but it was a spacious breakfast room with outside seating. But overall, a pleasant quick stay and we would certainly stay again as there is much to see in that area.

We greatly appreciate guest feedback, thank you. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and the close proximity to Rt. 1. We serve a continental breakfast not a full breakfast, and have likely altered it a bit over the last few weeks. We've brought back our famous house-made muffins! We do hope you'll stay with us again when visiting the area.

Such a friendly welcome! We were greeted with just baked cookies and two very friendly, attentive, and welcoming front desk agents Stella and Loren! The room with two queen beds, and a balcony, was very clean and spacious. We met the equally friendly manager the next morning and this being our first time in Maine, we had many questions which she was more than happy to answer. The breakfast room was homey, clean, and well run and the offerings were plenty! Too bad we had to continue on the next day!

This property has taken a major step backwards under the new ownership. The staff did not change our towels or clean the room after the first night. When we returned late afternoon and asked why it wasn't done they said they were busy and gave us clean towels. There was trash in the shrubs out front. The breakfast is now 8am to 10 am. When I mentioned all of this to the manager he said I was being disrespectful and accused me of being some sort of spy sent by the previous owners. We checked out two days early and will not go back. It is too bad we have been staying there for years back to the original owner, I have never been treated this way by a hotel manager, the man was rude, combative and should not be in the hospitality industry. Unless something changes in the near future this place is doomed to fail.

This property changed hands after 9 years. The previous couple that ran the Cod Cove Inn deserved all those beautiful reviews below. This was our experience with the new management: We had called ahead to let the front desk know we would arrive after 10. We drove up from a funeral in Newburgh, NY that day. We were told the key would be in the red box by the front door. It was not there when we arrived at around 10:20. Both my husband and I checked multiple times, but no key was to be found anywhere. The Inn door was locked. There was no one at the front desk. We rang the bell several times. We called the inn two times standing outside the door (we could hear the phone ring while standing outside), and left two voicemails. It was cold, late, and we were not sure we would be able to find any other hotel that night. We called again when we finally found a room in Bath, later that night, and left another voicemail, to ask for a refund for that night. We never got a call back. We went back the next day, because we had booked two nights. Two young women were at the front desk. We asked for a refund for the previous night. They were initially not very apologetic, and even suggested a key must have been there. They also said they themselves were there. They were not—we could see the front desk the from where we stood. We explained again what actually happened, and how we had to backtrack late at night to find a place to stay. We were refunded $227.81, the Friday night rate, which seemed a kindness after all we had to deal with. After we came home we were astounded to see we were re-charged for the $227.81. After emailing the Inn, they owner said we would not be refunded, because the key was in the red box all along, so this was our mistake. Our phone records will show we did call multiple times from right outside the inn. The nice desk person at the Hampton Inn in Bath can testify to us explaining why we were so grateful a room could still be had there late at night. She gracefully held it for us while we made our way back there. We are currently disputing the charge with our credit card company. The hotel owner wrote he will vigorously fight this.

Ownership change and the current manager would not honor a previous contract for a block of wedding rooms. I called to cancel one night due to a death and the manager never acknowledged my call, gave me no return call demanded I pay for two nights. He yelled at me over a cellphone call and would not talk calmly with me. The desk manager also was very rude. I would have left if I had other arrangements for the wedding night. Very rude service.

We do intend to stay here again but will bring some food with us because their breakfast offering was not good at all. The room was spacious and very clean. All rooms look out toward the west so you can watch the sunset. You can walk out onto your little area to have some wine if you chose. The beds were fairly comfortable, a little hard but you might like that. The location was really good as a jump-off point to the entire region, and even though it is a short distance from Rt 1, there was little road. We would request to be on the first floor, which is where we stayed this past time.

Clean accommodations with great location to the area we wanted to visit. Staff was great and the homemade blueberry muffins were the best. Location was the key to visit per our itinerary: Boothbay Botanical Garden and the Village Railway Museum. We would definitely return to Cod Cove Inn in Edgecomb, Maine.

Clean rooms comfortable beds. Very quite interior. The restroom is separate from the sinks so 3 people can get ready without being ontop of each other. Enjoyed the rear balcony especially watching the sunset. Would recommend staying here and is very reasonably priced for the area.
