We really loved our time at the Five Gables Inn in October. The Inn is beautiful and wonderfully decorated. The Inn is very clean and we had no concerns about staying there during the current Covid 19 climate. Situated a stone's throw from a beautiful bay, we enjoyed the water view from our room and from the wraparound porch. Susan, Steve and their staff are terrific hosts, welcoming us into their home from the moment we checked in. Susan is an amazing cook. The breakfast was outstanding -- chive gougeres, baked egg roll with spinach, Fennel & Bacon Scalloped Potatoes, and Salvadoran Breakfast Cake - we won't soon forget it! In fact, we loved it so much we bought a copy of Susan's cookbook so we could take her recipes home with us. Everyone was so friendly at the Inn and they made excellent suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area. We loved the location of the Inn in East Boothbay and enjoyed a wonderful walk along the coastline (much needed after breakfast!). The general store is just a 3-minute walk from the Inn and is one you won't want to miss. If you're looking for a memorable Maine getaway, we highly recommend staying at the Five Gables Inn!…
Julia and I chose Five Gables Inn for our October 2020 honeymoon based on its excellent reviews and its location on Booth Bay. We were able to select our room and we chose the end downstairs room, with a painted fireplace and an excellent view of Booth Bay. The room was quite spacious with a private bathroom/shower (the best water pressure!!!) and several windows. Susan and Steve are the most friendly and accommodating folks!!! From the moment of introduction to the moment of farewell, Susan and Steve were professional, helpful, kind and genuinely human!!! Somewhat of a loss for words about Susan and her cooking skills.... Excellent, Spot On, Fantastic, Multiple Thumbs Up and so on..... During our second breakfast, of our five day stay, Susan learned that I could not eat certain cooked vegetables. While still conversing with us, Susan began talking about how to rearrange her already planned out weeks breakfast menu in order to accommodate me. I found this to be very impressive and thoughtful on her part. Most evenings, upon returning to the Inn for the night, Julia and I enjoyed the comfort of the common area fireplace and comfy high back chairs. An excellent touch to an already magnificent Inn. On our last day, guests were introduced to “Shilo”, and 8 week old German Shepard puppy!! Shilo had just adopted Susan and Steve the day before we departed. Shilo will grow to be an excellent Ambassador of the Five Gables Inn. Julia and I look forward to returning to Five Gables Inn to check in on Shilo, Susan and Steve. Five Gables Inn comes Highly Recommended by Julia and Robert!!! A Huge “Thank You” to Susan, Steve n Shilo 😊…
Susan and Steve were great hosts. They made us feel so comfortable and at home. Our room was lovely, with so many beautiful details. The window seat overlooking the bay was wonderful. The breakfasts are to die for! Susan is an amazing cook! I had probably the best chocolate chip cookie of my life the other day at Five Gables Inn. Highly recommend a visit! Thank you Susan and Steve!
We made a last minute reservation because we had been traveling for the last ten days and this location was the exact halfway point to home. I wasn’t familiar with the area but looked at several places in the area and this one looked nice, but of course you never know. What a lovely surprise! The inn was beautiful and the owners and staff couldn’t have been nicer. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The common area was cozy with comfy chairs and a fire to keep you warm. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast on the porch, complete with blankets so you can enjoy the beautiful water view on a chilly morning. While the location is a little off the main road it’s only a ten minute ride to Boothbay Harbor shops and restaurants. Looking forward to going back!…
My husband and I decided we wanted to get away for the night so we thought we try a place close to home. I happened to stumble across this place and boy am I glad I did! Our room was beautiful, with a great view, spacious and the bed was beyond comfortable. The breakfast and baked goods were heavenly! The owners were very kind and welcoming. All around we had a wonderful time and wished we were staying longer. Thank you for the relaxing quick getaway, hopefully we can come back again soon.
