Such a beautiful inn! Across the water with beautiful views. Friendly and accommodating hosts, charming rooms, with yummy food! I highly recommend this inn if you're visiting this area. Reasonable rates. Quite neighborhood.

Susan and Steve were the consummate hosts. The Inn was pristine; we were welcomed as family. The room was spacious yet cozy, but the most inviting and relaxing space was the porch. We enjoyed, wine, and met new friends on the porch. Breakfast was an epicurean experience and we want every recipe we were served. Can't say enough about the... More

We have visited 3 times over the last 12 years and this place never lets us down. Everything is perfect. The rooms, the breakfast, the afternoon port, the location and the hosts are delightful. We will go back if we get to Boothbay in the future. Thank you Susan and Steve.

Five Gables has it all. Charm, comfort, excellent food, service are all A+. Upon checking in we smelled the most wonderful aroma.....freshly baked oatmeal cookies. Impossible to only eat one. The sitting area is inviting with comfortable seating facing the Bay and around the fireplace. Following dinner out, we returned to the Inn and a fire was going.....just enough to... More

Love this inn and can't stop coming back. The rooms are all different; clean, homey and lovely. I believe all rooms have a view of the bay except one. Have stayed in rooms through out the inn and find them all nice. The common areas, living room, dining area and front wrap around porch are cozy and have views of... More

After leaving the quiet of Pemaquid, Maine we decided to head for the Boothbay Harbor. Looking for a B and B or Inn slightly outside Booth Bay Harbor we stumbled upon Five Gables Inn/East Boothbay. What a find! Situated on a hill it looks out onto East Boothbay Harbor. It's one of the only inns left from yesteryear with a... More

The owners of this old inn are completely attentive to guests' comfort, and the little details make all the difference. This is an old inn, and the room sizes and amenities differ a fair amount, but overall, every room is beautifully decorated (amazingly so), and the common areas for guests--the living room and breakfast area and the porch--are really nice.... This was our second visit. It was wonderful and relaxing. Breakfast was a treat as were the other travelers we met. Our room (#3) was comfortable and spotless. Beautifully decorated. Just minutes from Boothbay Harbor. Susan and Steve do a great job making their guests comfortable (and well fed).

This was our 3rd visit to the Inn. I can't say enough good things about it. Susan & Steve are the consummate hosts. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the water - and there is a great porch to sit on and enjoy the view and relax. Also, the rooms are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. A decadent gourmet... Imagine waking with the blissful feeling that your room resembles a Maine cottage overlooking a picturesque bay. Scenic and Serene East Boothbay is a 200 year old village just 5 minutes from Boothbay Harbor, Maine, though you will feel light years away. Here we enjoy peaceful mornings on the inns porch, no traffic passing by, and a view of the lobster boats bobbing in the harbor. Yet a short five minute drive puts you in the middle of Boothbay Harbor with windjammers, trips to Monhegan Island, kayaking, hiking, whale watching, lobster eating, galleries and shopping. ... more   less
