We've been coming to 5 Gables since Steve and Susan took it over in 2013. We do an annual trip to Maine and this is the first place we stop. The breakfasts are amazing, always unique, always with the best ingredients. This sets the standard for all the other places we stay. The rooms are all lovely with amazing views.... More

I've been to Boothbay Harbor many times, but this was my first stay in adjacent East Boothbay. The serenity and ambiance, particularly of the Five Gables, is incomparable. Susan and Steve are the perfect innkeepers, with no detail overlooked yet making it all look effortless and relaxed. Scrumptious breakfast buffet different each morning can be eaten indoors or on the... More

Exquisite breakfasts, different selection every day, Susan's recipes including ginger lime muffins, blackberry bread pudding, mushroom crusted quiche, plus always fresh fruit, served on the lovely porch overlooking the bay. You can work it all off kayaking or walking around Ocean Point. Hospitality gracious and welcoming, and so much to do in the area. Don't miss the glorious Maine botanical... More

My wife and I stayed here the nights of July 12th and 13th. The Inn is in East Boothbay which is much quieter than the busyness of touristy Boothbay Harbor. We had room 14, on the top floor. There is no elevator, so the bags have to be carried up, which did not bother us. When we stepped into the... More

The best B&B ever! I am extremely grateful I had the privilege to staying at Five Gables. The innkeepers are gracious and accommodating. Thank you to the innkeepers and their kind staff for making our first Maine experience exceptional. I will return next year.

I can't say enough about this B&B. From the amazing views to the charm of the 100+ year-old architecture and the terrifically friendly hospitality, the weekend was perfect in every way. It didn't hurt that the weather was Chamber of Commerce perfect, as well, with cloudless blue skies and temps in the mid-seventies. Steve and Susan made us feel like... More

What a wonderful place from the just baked cookies and wine at check in to "sherry and port" before retiring to BREAKFAST buffet that filled all the spaces that the wonderful beds created with perfect slumber. My room (16) on 3rd floor was cozy but from Queen bed had 2 views of the harbor and lights. Wrap around porch overlooking... More

We stayed the weekend at Five Gables, and can't recommend it enough. This was our first time to Maine, and honestly I had a vision of what I wanted it to be. The Five Gables was absolutely perfect! Steve and Susan are wonderful hosts! The breakfast is AMAZING, and sitting on the porch overlooking the bay fulfilled my Maine dream.... More

Cozy and quaint bed and breakfast. Delicous food made by owner. Displayed beautifully. Captivating scenery of boats and harbor. A lot to do and see such as shopping, boat excursion, walking, fishing, biking and eating wonderful good.
