Smuggler's Cove Inn was a wonderful place to stay. We were there for our anniversary and lucked out to get pier room 31, but I believe all the rooms would be awesome. Breakfast was great, and one evening we spent time having a few drinks at the bar which was fun. We'd definitely stay here again....friendly staff and beautiful property.

A friend and I stayed here as part of a "girls' getaway". This was a last-minute booking for us, and boy were we lucky! I can't imagine what a previous reviewer was expecting when she wrote "the view is not scenic". See my posted photos. I'm a little offended on behalf of this truly special place. This place is sweet and simple, with lots of things to do. When we first checked in we were planning on going out to eat. But the VIEW, and adirondack chairs on the small (classic Mid-coast Maine) beach, and the welcoming restaurant enticed us to stay put for the night. You can drink wine alongside the bay, sit by fire pit, take a swim in the heated pool, eat incredibly prepared food, take a complimentary kayak out and explore the water. The rooms are clean, modernized, but obviously updated motel lodging. I love the porches! It is truly relaxing, modest but well executed lodging. And I have to shout out to the staff. My first interaction was with Megan at registration. She was so welcoming and excited about the Inn. The restaurant staff treated us with so much gratitude and the food was, no joke, some of the best I've had in a long time. The lobster nachos are To. Die. For. The word "hospitality" came to mind multiple times during my stay. I travel for work and spend a lot of nights in hotels. Typically, all I need and expect is a clean room and responsive staff. This really stood out. I cannot wait to return this time with more friends.

What an incredible place and people. After looking around for a place to getaway and having no luck connecting with a few places, Terese picked up the phone and was friendly and accommodating immediately. We are so glad we found Smugglers Cove Inn. The happy hour was a bonus and the food made/served by Sara and Kimber was exceptional. We ate there and had a local craft beer every night and then watched all the beautiful sunsets. What a perfect location - close to Boothbay but tucked away. Kayaks, canoes, heated pool, fire pit, bean bag toss, clean, comfortable rooms. I could go on and on... we'll be back next year and are so thankful to the staff - Meghan, Jake, Olivia, Destiny, Zack and anyone that I might have missed!!! THANK YOU!!!

We traveled to Boothbay for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The room was perfect and the surrounding area was beautiful! We stayed in the Pier building and the view and room was beautiful. There was complimentary breakfast and kayaks and canoes available for use.

Beautiful views, excellent customer service, had a Keurig coffee maker in the room and the staff were more than happy to give extra Keurig cups, towels, Etc. Because of covid, the room was not cleaned daily but they would bring you towels and other items as needed. The only negative thing was that at the price we paid, it seems to me the hotel could have provided a good mattress. Both my husband and I were in pain most mornings because we could feel the springs all night. Although this is typical for a small hotel, you had to get up really early to get breakfast if you expected to get protein (hard-boiled eggs), cereal choice, or fruit. Even though they do advertise those items will be provided as part of the continental breakfast. They also provided complementary kayaks and the ocean view was breathtaking. If they updated their mattresses we would come back in a flash but until then, if you have any back issues whatsoever, it would be a good idea to choose another place to stay.
