This spectacular 8-acre property borders Ogunquit, and would be considered Ogunquit lodging by tourists. Gracious, welcoming hosts. Amenities include a 40-foot heated pool; outdoor hot tub; indoor sauna; Turkish steam room; large rooms with private screened-in porches. This is an ideal choice if you want to be close to Ogunquit activities, but away from all the traffic and noise. LGBT friendly.

Detailed Reviews
Our first trip to Maine, and we completely lucked out in finding this beautiful B&B run by Linda and Ellen! Their hospitality and knowledge of the area made our experience all the more special. Breakfast, as was the coffee, was abundant and delicious, and we loved getting to know our hosts! The house offers amazing amenities, like a sauna, hot tub and heated pool, and the room was spacious and nicely decorated, we really enjoyed sitting in the screened-in back porch to enjoy our morning coffee or evening wine. We hope to definitely be back there again, and would highly recommend the Beauport Inn as a wonderful place to stay!

A great stay in the wonderful town of Ogunquit! Even in the winter, it has it's own special charm. The Innkeepers Linda and Ellen were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the spacious rooms on the ground level with a view of the back of the inn, the pool and hot tub. The room also has an outside screened area which would be fabulous in warmer weather. Ellen served up a wonderful breakfast the two days we stayed, with more than enough to eat along with hot coffee and juice. We hope to return again soon!

We've stayed at the Beauport Inn once a year for the last three years. I've heard that the person who built it in 2001 traveled extensively in Europe looking for ideas for the perfect B and B. I like that he brought components back from Europe including stained glass, wood paneling, doors etc. And what was built on site was carefully designed to create the look and feel of a French Chateau. I love it.
The last time I was there I used the jacuzzi and sauna and enjoyed both. I took a walk through the backyard, down the stairs and along the river. Along the way I saw an eagle, ducks, and many other birds.
Although I consider the inn to be part of Ogunquit, Trip Advisor lists it under Cape Neddick Neddick, due to a quirk in geography. The Inn is a mile or so from the center of Ogunquit (Maine Street shops, etc), but over six miles from the center of Cape Neddick/ York Beach. So it's possible that people looking for a B & B in Ogunquit may miss out on this gem.

My friend and I stayed in the Moulin Rouge suite, which was comfortable and luxurious. We used the pool and the hot tub, and we rode the bikes to the beach every day. Linda and Ellen were incredibly hospitable and warm -- and the breakfasts were yummy! We so enjoyed our stay at the Beauport Inn and we really look forward to returning. This is a cannot miss! Really lovely owners of an amazing home and grounds.

My husband and I just got back to Iowa tonight from our wonderful trip to southern coastal Maine. We enjoyed our stay at the Beauport Inn so much that I wanted to make sure I posted a review right away. We LOVED Cathy and George - they were delightful hosts, making us feel very welcome and pampered. The property is just outside of town, giving it a secluded feel, yet close enough to the action. The property is beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the fall color on the trees that border the back lawn. We stayed in the Maine room which was very cozy and tastefully decorated. We had planned on going out for the night, but decided to go for an early dinner so we could get back and spend time in our perfect room. We enjoyed a soak in the hot tub under the stars and then spent the evening reading and relaxing by the warm glow of the fire in our room. Breakfast was delicious. This was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary, but left feeling like newlyweds. We will definately be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. George and Cathy are wonderful hosts, and I don't think you can find a better breakfast anywhere. It was clean and comfortable. We liked the hospitality and quite, country setting as a change of pace from our Miami home, but the Beauport is close enough to downtown Ogunquit so that it's not a hassel to get there. It's really the best of both worlds!

I just recently spent the weekend at the Beauport Inn on Clay Hill. The website: ------------------
This B&B is newly constructed, has 4 rooms, an outdoor hot tub and lap pool and an indoor steam room. We stayed in the Rose Room (each room has a different theme), which has a queen sized bed, gas fireplace, and is filled with lovely antiques. All rooms have a private bath (ours with a shower hot tub). There is a larger suite called the Moulin Rouge which also has a sitting room. The setting of the B&B is a little off the beaten path and you have to drive a very short distance to reach the popular areas of Ogunquit (Perkin's Cove, Shore Road, The Marginal Way, the beach, etc.) We didn't mind this at all, since there was plenty of (paid) parking all over town and once you park in town you can walk to just about everything there is to see. However, some (to sacrifice charm for view) might regret not being in one of the many hotels/motels that look directly over the ocean. The good news is that the B&B sits on 11 acres of land, some of it beautifully cultivated and some still remains beautifully wild; we felt it was very romantic, quiet and secluded. The perfect hideaway for us city-folk. George and Cathy, our hosts, greeted us warmly on arrival and were there to accommodate every need. They cooked up the most incredible breakfast which included a bowl of fresh fruit, Belgian waffles, eggs cooked to taste, toast, sausages, OJ, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. George and Cathy have traveled all around the world and have filled their place with antiques, relics, and rare finds from many distant lands. Ask them about the doors to the steam room from Saudi Arabia or the wood paneling in the sitting area from an old English school. We felt the rates were very reasonable for the quality we received. All in all I HIGHLY recommend the Beauport Inn!

My husband and I return year after year.... If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet accommodation that's also close to all Ogunquit has to offer, look no further! We stayed in the apartment this past trip: our own little personal oasis! The apartment includes all the home-away conveniences (kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom) while also having access to a refreshing outdoor pool (comfortably heated by solar panel)s, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. What's so wonderful about this B&B is that you can have a wonderful time relaxing without leaving the grounds. There is also a collection of movies to choose from for your viewing, as well as games. And, if the traffic has you down (Route 1 can get very busy), hop on one of Ellen and Linda's bikes, and away you go to chart your own Ogunquit adventure! A scrumptious breakfast (or should I say, brunch) is also awaiting you each a.m. in the common dining room when you stay in one of the inn rooms. The Beauport Inn--can't say enough wonderful things about it--a beautiful place with kind and knowledgeable innkeepers awaiting to make your stay extra special--what else can one ask for? Thank you again, Linda and Ellen!

Every so often my partner has the opportunity to come here and provide massage therapy to guests. She has a license, so this isn't creepy. She also has a heavy-but-portable massage table that I enjoy carting around for her, so this means that every so often I have the opportunity to come here and visit with the gracious owners, Linda and Ellen.
The last time we were here, we stayed in the Acadian room and I loved it. It has a cabin-in-the-woods type of appeal, with the woodland creature decor and the deep earthy tones of the bed quilt. This room is in the basement of the inn so it's probably a little cooler than the ones upstairs, plus it has great air conditioning. There's also a doorway to a wildflower garden outside that was lush and colorful in the warm Ogunquit sunshine.
Our room was next to the new sauna that Linda and Ellen had installed but we didn't make time to use it, this time.
This is probably where I should mention the business/pleasure split. While my partner was busy massaging guests, I lounged in the heated outdoor pool during the day. I had my choice of pool float was was free to soak up the sun. In the evening, when my partner was done working, we slid into the hot tub and gazed up at the stars.
Then there's breakfast. Linda and Ellen have an endless supply of fresh fruits that are ripe and juicy and if I didn't know there was bacon forthcoming, I would fill up on the fruit course.
But there's bacon! And sometimes there are homemade blueberry pancakes that are so thick and hearty, they're like eating stacked muffins. So filling. So delicious. And such a good way to start a day of sightseeing or beach combing...or massaging!
One day my partner didn't have massages so we borrowed two bicycles from the inn and pedaled the short distance to downtown Ogunquit. I'm not even sure if it was one mile each way.
In short, if you're looking for a relaxing, welcoming base camp for your vacation, this is the place. If you're looking for a place to get away from your hectic life, this is the place. And if you're looking for a pool, hot tub, sauna, wifi, and possible massage...this is the place!

My husband, son, and I spent a week here, two years after our last stay. The locale is spectacular, especially since it's only one mile from the center of Ogunquit, ME, where everything is close together.
The apartment was comfortable. Knowing we could do laundry was calming, even though we didn't need to. The owners remain friendly and helpful. And we were welcomed like we were old friends. It's a lovely place we'll stay at again.
