My mouth dropped walking into the lobby! I felt like I was in the bridge of a cruise ship with the water view! So beautifully decorated throughout the resort. Live entertainment by the grand fireplace set the mood immediately for the weekend. Room was beautiful, staff was super friendly and helpful. The spa was off the charts!
My family and I visited the Cliff House in February and it was GREAT! The Hotel was awesome - with a bunch to do, even in the cold weather. There was a fun dueling pianos concert and the Spa/Restaurant/Nubbs were great :). Anthony at the front desk was super knowledgeable - recommending a HIT spot for brunch 10-15 minutes away in town. Would love to visit again in the summer!
I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and the staff. I planned a weekend trip for my mother's birthday with a few relatives - girl's getaway. I was not sure what to expect - the photos looked beautiful online but I had never visited before. From start to finish everything was perfect. Great attention to detail, breathtaking ocean views, and a peaceful atmosphere. I will start with the reservation process. Since there was going to be a small group of us, I wanted to make sure we had a suite with some room to gather in (especially being January and expecting to spend a good amount of time indoors). I called reservations and spoke to Trish - very lucky to have connected with her! She spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me going through all the options for rooms as well as sending along e detailed email with all the information. We decided on the two bedroom oceanfront suite located in the Ledges building. Note: Ledges is on the far end of the property with a bit of a walk but it is all indoors and comfortable so it wasn't bad at all. It had 3 full sized bathrooms, 2 bedrooms with a total of 3 king beds, 2 sofas, and 3 private balconies. More than enough room and beds were very comfortable. The rooms were all beautiful and spotless. And quiet! Note: make sure to get up in time to see the sunrise on the balcony - it was well worth it. Especially after grabbing a coffee from the beverage station right down the hall (with farm fresh milk and cream!). Next came the planning. That is where the staff in concierge really shines. Cheryl was a star - she helped me plan all the restaurant reservations both at Tiller and down the street at Walkers (which was excellent). She even arraigned for transportation to the restaurant. But what really made the experience excellent was that she sent a piece of birthday cake to the room with a special note to my mother. Just wonderfully thoughtful. The Tiller restaurant was beautiful and the service was great. Honestly though, I would have been just as happy eating in the bar/lounge area. It had a wood burning fireplace and you could hear the live music out in the lobby area. We did go back to Tiller for breakfast which was better because you could see the ocean view and the menu was delicious. We pretty much lived in the robes. You must try to outdoor hot tub. It is large and has a great view (and it 13 and older). Make sure to grab a drink from Nubbs to bring out with you at night - they put the drinks in plastic cups for you. Lastly, the spa. Wonderful. I got a facial and others got pedicures and special mud/scrub treatments. Everyone raved about their services. Summary: great views, ocean air rejuvenates you, great hot tub, amazing service, friendly staff. Great choice overall and I can't wait to go back.…
Outstanding views, rooms are fabulous, comfortable and clean. During the winter there isn't a lot to do, but they do have a fire pit, hot tub, inside pool is open. In the evening, there was entertainment. When we pulled up it was alittle confusing were to go, but fortunately a bellman saw us and directed us in the right direction. The in person concierge leaves a lot to be desired. No local maps were available, only a map on Kennebunk. Wasn't knowledgeable about places for breakfast, and the 3 "she thought" would be good didn't open at the times she told us. But they do have the text concierge service, a bit impersonal, but it does save time when we needed items for the room. The rooms do have a fridge and safe. There is a community coffee bar on each floor with coffee and tea available. …
What an absolutely amazing experience! Every single person who worked there made us feel wonderful from the second we walked in! I want to especially thank Brianne at Nubbs Lobster Shack for being so friendly and also Chelsea at the Spa who gave me a fabulous facial! I wish I could remember everyone's name who helped us during our stay so I could thank them individually, hospitality is definitely well displayed here. Our dinner at The Tiller was delicious and lunch at Nubbs was so much better than I expected! I love that there was an art gallery right in the middle of the property. This place was very pricy but well worth it! Thanks for a great early Valentine's getaway Cliff House!!
There's a reason The Cliff House receives so many y5 star reviews: it's awesome from start to finish. The hotel is spotless, the attention to detail amazing (in room air purifiers weren't lost on me!), the views astounding and the overall ocean chic vibe is wonderful! We stayed two nights in the dead of winter in late January and enjoyed two stunning sunrises and the bonus of a bright sunny unseasonably warm days! Our room was located in the Ledges wing ( best for sunrise over the ocean). We arrived several hours before checkin and our room was ready( big points here). Self parking was the only option and it can be a haul with luggage so we used a bellman (shout out to Victor) who was so welcoming and informative, giving us a few extra tips for an enjoyable first visit. Ledges is located farthest from reception , the awesome main gathering area with a wall of ocean front windows, a beautiful fireplace and many seating options to enjoy the view. An underground passage featuring photos of Cliffhouse through the years and a gallery of local art makes the trek easy especially in winter. There is a movie theatre tucked in the passage showing family rated movies twice a day. There is an indoor pool option as well as a year round large outdoor hot tub ( guests 13 and older) overlooking the ocean. The hot tub is busy... maybe too busy but you'll opt to give it a try for just the view alone. Robes and slippers are provided In each room. There are igloos overlooking the Atlantic near the hot tub as well as a large firepit with Adirondack gliders. In winter, dining options include the Tiller with its " killer" views and Nubbs, a more informal option as well as in room dining. We enjoyed cocktails at sunset in Tiller which also serves as the lobby bar and can get quite busy if hotel is busy. Weekend evenings, there is live music , a crowd pleasing duo this weekend featured a vocalist and guitarist playing hits from the late 60s-80s. Beds were comfy, shower pressure great and a " beverage station" located on each floor with tea, coffee, as well as still and sparking water(loved those tiny ice cubes). Staff throughout the hotel was first rate. The Cliff House is a fabulous choice for a special celebration (thanks for the birthday treats for my hubby) no matter what time of year! Winter rates are lower and some nights have no minimum stay required. We will be back!…
Cliff House exceeded expectations. The facilities, restaurants, activities and entertainment were excellent. Everything needed to provide a terrific experience was offered in-house. The Ogunquit Maine area is beautiful! We will be back.
The resort was beautiful. The rooms were extremely comfortable. The food was delicious in all restaurants at the hotel, especially the lobster dishes. We enjoyed painting over the cliffs. The views of the ocean are amazing. Highly recommend.
No other hotel will wow you with views like this one will. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you are on a cruise ship. We stay in the Ledgemere Suites with our family which allows us to spread out and has 3 full bathrooms. Definitely need to do the spa pass just to experience the quiet room. We had fun doing the marginal way cliff walk. Our 19 & 21 love the hot tub outside. This has become one of our favorite places. Staff is always amazing.
I booked this for my husband’s 50th birthday getaway for us and our 2 teenage kids, right after Christmas. After reading glowing reviews, I was willing to spend a lot for a few days— expecting an exceptional hotel experience. PROS: stunning views, nice decor, good service, clean and new gym. I appreciated the free coffee and water stations right next to our room. The restaurants on site were pricey— but we expected that, and had good meals at both. CONS: for $900/night I expected a beautiful room, but our suite (Room 625, a 2-bedroom corner Ocean suite) had stained furniture— almost every sofa and chair had stains!— worn down carpet, and piles of dirt and leaves on both of the balconies. And our oceanfront view had a large air conditioning unit smack in the middle of it. I alerted the front desk immediately after checking in, but there was no other availability— apparently there are only 2 of these suites in the hotel. They removed the $23/day resort fee instead as a gesture. Nice, but didn’t help with what I felt was a terrible value. The other problem was that there isn’t enough common space— everyone wanted to sit by the fires and look out the 2-story windows, but with only a handful of sofas for 500 guests, there was rarely room. Same for the outdoor hot tub— it was always crowded. So we ended up spending more time than expected in our run down room. OVERALL- this is a lovely hotel, but it absolutely did not live up to the rates they are charging. Go in with slightly lower expectations, and avoid room 625!!…
