I booked an ocean view room and was surprised that my balcony directly faced a parking lot and lamp post with a peakaboo view of the bay. The room itself was beautiful and bedding was superb. I also had great service from the front desk staff. That said, since my room was directly underneath the rooftop bar (3rd floor) I could hear stomping all night and unfortunately early in the morning (assume staff was cleaning up?). Parking is tricky - there are not enough spots for all the rooms so get to the hotel early to secure one. The rooftop bar itself has a lovely with with so-so drinks and food.
My Husband and I decided to go to 16 Bayview for Christmas Eve. Being 2020 and not being able to gather with family we decided to get away. I found 16 Bayview through a coworker and was so happy that I did. I booked the Ocean View King Guest room through the hotel's website. The website is easy to use and informative. This is a dog friendly room. Susan at the front desk was so kind, she engaged us in great conversation and got us all set up and checked in. The room was just lovely with expensive finishes and plenty of amenities. They even had a dog bed complete with bowls, treats and bottled water for our Dachshund! The room has a fridge, Keurig, microwave etc all ticked away in a closet so it is out of view. The bathroom was lovely with a huge soaking tub that boasted tiny jets, a huge luxurious shower, double sinks and heated floors! The room was just the right size and the bed was very cozy. Cameron at night was so incredibly kind and attentive, he brought us a HDMI cable (just a side note - they have a system connected to their television that allows for HDMI, bluetooth, etc hookups so you can bring a computer and watch what you want from there. Bring a HDMI cable) and extra towels at the start of the evening. We ordered dinner in our room because we didn't want to leave. They had a lovely Chinese menu made in house and it was delicious! We ordered cocktails from the bar and they brought them right to our room. We also ordered breakfast and that was perfect as well! The quality of the food and drinks really stood out. Along with the kindness and first class service from the staff. The building itself is truly stunning with beautiful unique architecture inside and out. We did not drink or eat at the bar but we peeked inside and it was (as you could guess) absolutely lovely. The bottom line is, if you are staying in Camden this place is really worth a stay, we will definitely be returning! 5 stars.…
We got a room with a balcony of the back of the hotel. The tub with bubbles was absolutely fabulous, the bed was comfortable and clean, the fireplace was beautiful and worked perfectly, everyone was very very nice. It was expensive at 326 a night. The only thing is there are pizza restaurants around that burn firewood. All of my clothes my hair and everything smelled like firewood smoke for a week !
four diamond? yeah, right. terrible check-in. did not feel welcome nor taken care of. room not inspected for cleanliness. glasses dirty. no laundry bags or trash liners. full trashcan not emptied when placed outside the room. breakfast was good the first morning, but bad the other two. no restaurant or rooftop. whirlpool tub motor is extremely noisy and I could hear other guests using theirs.
This is a top notch hotel. Extremely clean, well put together and tons of charm. Fire place in the room, and the balcony overlooking the water is key. Parking can be tricky, but it’s worth the location and customer service. We also loved the heated bathroom floor.
