The Captain Swift Inn was the perfect place to stay while visiting Camden. Shelly & Jeff make you feel at home the minute you arrive. Their attention to detail is amazing down to every amenity. Games, a library, a fire pit, a tea & coffee bar available 24/7, cookies, candies, toiletries, and, of course, the star of the show, a three-course gourmet breakfast with a personalized menu. The inn itself is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! The historical inn has been beautifully modernized with AC and amazing bathrooms, yet it still has the charm of a bygone era with its lovely wooden floors, historical doors & windows, and updated gas fireplaces. It is within a short walk of all the wonderful shops, restaurants, and waterfront of beautiful Camden. We can't wait until our next visit!…
What an amazing inn ! Our family really enjoyed staying at the inn ! The innkeepers are truly the kindest and nicest people that we have ever met. They were very accommodating and prepared the most amazing breakfasts . The inn is very beautiful, clean and the rooms are very comfortable and cozy. The inn offers everything that we needed and much more for a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation . We can’t wait to come back again and highly recommend this inn as the place to stay for your next vacation in Camden!
What an amazing B&B in Camden! We truly enjoyed our stay here. Shelly and Jeff are wonderful hosts! The property is beautifully landscaped, and the room was so comfortable. It even had blackout shades to keep the sun out in the morning. Each morning, breakfast consisted of 3 courses. Yes, 3 courses! You will not go hungry. Each day’s choice was just gourmet delish! There was water in the fridge for guests to enjoy along with homemade cookies and a variety of candies in the afternoon. There were so many great places in walking distance. I highly recommend this B&B. You will not be disappointed!
We spent two nights at this well-appointed inn on our way to Acadia National Park and were taken with the welcoming nature of the innkeepers, their attention to detail, and their three-course breakfasts. Shelly was particularly warm and kind; the type of person you feel like you've known all your life–with a demeanor that makes your heart smile! We stayed in the Mabel room which required going up a very narrow and steep staircase. I felt like I was doing the limbo every time I walked down the stairs in order to avoid hitting my head. These kind of architectural details are inherent in old homes, but if negotiating stairs is difficult for you, please choose another room. There was a bit of traffic noise in this room, but it died down at night. (They are very clear to point this out on their comprehensive and helpful website.) The outdoor fire pit is a welcome place to sit and chat with other inn guests while enjoying some of Shelly and Jeff's chocolate chip cookies! In fact, while we were there Shelly and Jeff came out to bring more chairs in order to accommodate additional guests. They seemed delighted to see their guests connecting with one another. We would definitely stay again on a return trip to the area.…
During our recent trip to Maine we stayed at the Captain Swift Inn in Camden, Maine. I usually don’t write reviews but I have to give the in-keepers Shelly and Jeff a Five Star review. The Inn is very nicely maintained. Extremely clean, friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. We didn’t feel like guests, we felt like family. We highly recommend the Captain Swift Inn to anyone traveling to or around Camden, Maine.
We arrived in Camden a day early having failed to make a reservation for an August 2021 vacation. My wife started searching online and calling, no vacancy at each place she contacted. Luckily she reached the Captain Swift Inn and talked with Shelly. They had only one room remaining and it fit our needs. All that both of us could say was, Wow - we are definitely staying here when we return! Such a beautiful and well cared for Inn with awesome hosts! The room and amenities are so well thought out as to leave nothing to be desired. Nicest B&B we have ever stayed in and there have been quite a few in our 39 years of marriage. Everything including the grounds were definitely top tier. Regarding the breakfast, if you go away hungry it will definitely be your own fault. Delicious meal with numerous options including indoor or outdoor dining, weather permitting! Thank you Shelly & Jeff for a wonderful stay, sorry so late for getting this review posted. Mike & Kim…
Great hosts , very nice room and all the little details are taken care of. The breakfasts are amazing and you won't have to eat till suppertime. Inn is in a good location and you can walk to everything in town.
Jeff and Shelly were the perfect hosts at this wonderful Inn. First, the location is perfect sitting just down from all the activity in Camden. you can walk to harbor or drink your way there past a number of watering holes. Second, the Inn is comfortable and cozy and Jeff and Shelly are off to a fantastic start as the new owners of this Inn. They were responsive to all of our questions about things to do and places to eat even before we arrived. When we wanted to add an extra night and they responded even though they were on their own trip (above and beyond!!). The Inn was very clean and all of the extras were thought of...water, cokes, travel meds and toiletries if you forgot something...they covered EVERY SINGLE item. Breakfast -- yeah, you can just plan on skipping lunch! If they have space you would be crazy not to grab it. …
Captain Swift Inn is quiet, comfortable, and welcoming. The new owners have thought of every detail, including a three-course breakfast which is served in the dining room at the time of your choosing. The inn which was updated in the last few years yet very authentic is impeccably maintained with an inviting deck and outdoor patio for warmer weather. We can't wait to come back.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Captain Swift Inn and loved it! We stayed in one of the suites which was large, pleasantly decorated and very comfortable. The suite had great seating, a fireplace, large jet tub and all the amenities one could ask for from fluffy towels to a spa shower. Snacks and drinks were stocked in the room’s refrigerator. The hosts, Shelly and Jeff, couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful and the three course breakfast was truly exceptional. We would definitely recommend the Captain Swift Inn.
