Timbercliffe Cottage Inn is a classic New England retreat by-the-sea with an expansive 80' veranda and grand common rooms - all with impressive Penobscot Bay views. Built in 1790 - 1860 the historic house is well appointed in traditional colonial style (published in Early American Life magazine ad!). The Inn is nestled on a private hillside above busy High Street affording serene and unique views. We are located in the Village District only a stroll to the heart of Camden and guests are treated, upon request, to our exclusive house car service. Our rooms and suites include private baths, luxury amenities with ocean or forest views. Relax in a claw foot tub or retire by a fireplace in one of our suites. Our 2nd floor balcony is ideal for enjoying the sun and a beverage while watching the schooners sailing on the bay. Wake up to a delicious multi-course breakfast served al fresco on the veranda, our stone terrace or in the main dining room. Our well stocked butler's pantry offers a variety of coffees, teas, seltzer water and snacks throughout the day. This lovely, historic inn is now open year 'round. Welcome, relax, and enjoy a bit of our Virginia hospitality in New England!

Our first stay with the Timbercliffe's new owners and as usual, it was a great experience. We have stayed several times at this beautiful Inn and everything was as good as I remember, perhaps even better in some aspects. Breakfast was the usual high standard and the room was warm, comfortable and very clean and the fireplace was welcoming on a cold day. Kevin and Lucia, along with dog Finn (the gentle giant ) were terrific hosts. Friendly, entertaining and very knowledgeable of the Camden area and it's surrounds. The Inn itself has a fascinating history and I enjoyed learning more about this great residence. We will definitely stay here again when in the area, and I look forward to spending some more time with Kevin and Lucia, while enjoying everything that the Timbercliffe has to offer. Melanie and Shane, NSW, Australia.

Property's Favorite Review
We stayed at Timbercliffe for 4 days during our vacation up the Maine coast, and are so glad we chose this B&B. The relatively new owners Lucia & Kevin are excellent innkeepers and hosts! They will surely make Timbercliffe the place to stay in beautiful Camden! Our room, the Widow Pendlton's Chamber, as well as all the rooms were tastefully decorated in the period of the Inn's history. Lucia & Kevin shared the Inn's interesting history with us. The Inn has a beautiful view of Camden harbor, arguably the most magnificent along Maine's coast. We enjoyed the view from the wraparound porch! Breakfast was excellent, as well as the evening treats!! We will return to Timbercliffe Cottage again!! Thank you Lucia & Kevin!!

The owners were responsive to my emails and my requests. Upon arrival, the care, detail, elegance and hospitality was evident. The house sits on a hill away from the road which gives you peace and quiet and a spectacular view from the porch or from your bedroom. The house is decorated in a thoughtful authentic colonial style with lovely old paintings of sailing boats. The room was big enough, the bed really comfortable. The bathroom was charming clean and functional. The breakfast was sumptuous and tasty. The owners attention to detail was notable. It is a mile out of town with no sidewalks; so it is difficult to walk to town. On the other hand, it doesn't have all the traffic and bustle and is just a minute down the road.

Thank you for your kind review -and for taking the time to leave one. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay and your view! It was so nice to get to know you!! We hope you get the chance to visit us again when there is less snow on the ground - there is a sidewalk to town on the east side of High Street - just difficult to see in the snow! Have a wonderful January! Lucia and Kevin

My wife and I had a terrific weekend at Timbercliffe Cottage in Camden, ME in mid-October 2019. The inn was charming and innkeepers were extremely gracious. Nice views of Camden Harbor could be had from the front porch and our water view room. Breakfast was a treat each morning with fresh baked goods, fruit and a hot main dish. The town was a short (15 min.) walk from the inn and a number of good dinners options were available. The state park was also close by offering some great hiking and truly impressive views of the harbor and foliage.

Camden, ME Timbercliffe Cottage September 23 – 26 We loved it here. The Timbercliffe is a beautiful old home that has been expanded, wonderfully maintained and nicely appointed. Our room had a comfortable, firm king-sized bed with decent sized nightstands that included charging stations on each and enough room for my iPhone, Kindle, a glass of water and other stuff. Large bathroom with shower/ bath. Lots of water pressure and plenty of hot water. A working gas fireplace was the center of a comfortable sitting area with wing chairs, common table and big area rug. Windows looked out on Penobscot Bay and the sunrise greeted us in the morning (if you are not up for this – there are shades and drapes that are very effective). A large front porch also looks out on the Bay and is full of comfortable furniture where we spent time with other guests comparing our days and experiences. Breakfast is served at 8:30 rather than at a time of your choosing. This fosters a nice communal experience (arrangements can be made if you need to eat early to get going, or late to sleep in). Breakfast typically starts with fruit, granola, yogurt, and local honey followed by a main course cooked by our hosts and served individually. This often included an egg dish and other homemade goodies like blueberry pancakes, bacon or sausage. Everyone is always asked if there is something that they prefer not to have or if there are food allergies. Our hosts – Kevin and Lucia – were new owners of the Timbercliffe. Although I have not stayed there before, I can’t imagine that they have missed a step. They already know about all of the area restaurants, attractions and locales. They are friendly, and available all day to answer questions or take care of anything you might need. Kevin has a wry sense of humor which we enjoyed (not intrusive or overindulgent). It is obvious that they both enjoy hosting a bed and breakfast. The location is about a mile from downtown Camden. We had no trouble with the walk, although it is up a hill coming back. The pictures of the exterior are accurate. House staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, this was an ideal B&B experience and we would gladly stay here again
