We vacation in Camden every summer and for the last 3 years we have returned to The Lodge at Camden Hills. The rooms are comfortable. This year we stayed in the cottage (Kineo)..oh how delightful. Staff is fun, location is perfect and it just gets better and better. We always spend one evening with lobster rolls (take out) and wine... More

This was our second time at The Lodge....good to see Jim again!. We drove from Indiana for the Lobster Fest in Rockland, and stayed in the Kennebec (from Aug 2 thru Aug 8). Made the Lodge our base for our stay. The location of the Lodge made it really convenient to Arcadia, Rockland, Portland, and the lobster pounds we visited... More

Thank you for such a great review. I could tell you guys were having a great time, always smiling. After a 1000 mile drive to the coast of Maine, I'm glad the weather cooperated with you and all your adventures. Day trips from our location help make Camden and the Lodge a wonderful destination for anyone looking for a Maine... More

We chose a smaller unit which was more than adequate. Very clean, comfortable and close to town. We loved the setting which overlooked the bay. We enjoyed meeting the innkeeper, Jim Burgess, and hope to return.

We stayed in the Kineo cottage with our toddler. The setup allowed us to put him to bed and then relax on the private deck. It was perfect! The cottage was very clean and comfortable. It is located about 1 mile outside of downtown Camden and very close to the entrance of Mount Battie. We could easily explore the entire... More

This beautiful Lodge is located right outside Camden's main attraction - the beautiful state park, with beautiful ocean views from each room . There's a good variety of places to stay - from "standard cabin" to cottages, pet-friendly or pet-free, so they can cater for most needs. We stayed at the "owls head", which was beuatifully decorated, and felt very... More

Wanting to celebrate my 80th birthday with as many members of our family as possible, I booked The Lodge at Camden Hills. Why? Because it looked homey; it looked like a place where we could have our own space, yet hang out together on the lovely lawn. Because we are so scattered, we could breakfast in pairs and have an... Hubs and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. It was very quiet, comfortable, & peaceful. It also had great views of Penobscot Bay, even though they were further away than I realized from pictures. Even though it was summer, I had wanted a place with a hot tub/jacuzzi tub in case Maine was cold (at night). I am... More

This place is an absolute gem! You MUST stay here if you want great water views, clean rooms, beautiful landscape, relaxed and quiet setting, and comfortable beds. In a nutshell...Perfection! I recommend staying in the Owl's Head loft suite.

live2love love2live, ...What a great handle! It makes our day every time someone has a great, restful stay at the Lodge. We don't take the credit for the view, the cool air, the Maine light, or the lobsters...but they don't hurt! Hope to see you again soon! More

We enjoyed our experience at the Lodge at Camden Hills. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was an amazing treat in the morning! Easy 30 minute walk into town and it was nice to be a bit on the outside. The hosts were amazingly friendly! We will be back.

Such a lovely place with a friendly great staff. We have stayed twice now and loved it both times. The location is fantastic. We walked to dinner one night and were so close we kept walking and had dinner downtown. The rooms all have a great view and its so peaceful and quiet that I have found myself missing reading... Hello Brianna, sounds like you know how to have fun. There are a ton of things to do in Camden and with The Lodge being off the beaten path, you have the best of two worlds staying here. Mt Battie takeout is only a ten minute walk to the north from the Lodge and a favorite place for an ice... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lodge at Camden Hills is one of the Camden's most scenic properties. Owned by the Burgess family for over forty years, the Lodge is a village of four cottages, four suites, and four standard rooms in five unique buildings across nine acres. With a view of Penobscot Bay ahead and Mount Battie directly behind us, it is easy to relax at the Lodge. Watch sailboats on the bay, wind-blown from island to island, from your private deck. Enjoy well-appointed, clean, and comfortable lodging. There is comfort in the privacy of your own space at the Lodge. Each room has a private entrance with parking and a deck with water views of Penobscot Bay. Our goal is to make our rooms as comfortable as possible. It is our experience that after a good night's sleep, Maine will work its magic on your mind and spirit! Our luxurious bedding by Cuddledown will lull you into a peaceful slumber. Our Maine-made comforters and pillows along with 400-thread count, 100% combed cotton bedding are inviting, soft, and comfortable. A continental breakfast basket is hung outside your door each morning so you can enjoy breakfast in your room at your leisure before heading out to explore the mid-coast. Start your morning with freshly-brewed coffee, tea, local baked goods, Maine-made Stonewall Kitchen jam, and orange juice. At day's end experience dramatically dark, star-filled skies, the robust smell of fir trees mixed with a little wood smoke, and cool air on your skin. Together these elements create an experience that is what Maine is all about. ... more   less
