I was looking for a quiet weekend for relaxation and to get some much needed reading done. I stayed in the Penobscot cottage and I highly recommend it! It's the last on the property and it's very quiet. Had everything I needed. I cooked most of my meals as there is a kitchen (no oven) but it was perfect and...

We received a 2 night stay at The Lodge at Camden Hills as a gift from a family member. We stayed in a cottage, with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. It was well-appointed, and cozy, yet roomy. The bedroom was enormous, and the entire unit was impeccably clean. It really felt like a home away from home. In fact, our...

We loved our stay at the Lodge at Camden Hills! The cottage was very clean and perfectly equipped for two. We had a major blizzard while visiting, but we were prepared and there was plenty of room in the 1/2 size fridge for our groceries. While we couldn't do any major cooking, the 2-burner stove and microwave meant we could...

Our little cabin had a double-sided gas fireplace, a Jacuzzi, and thoughtful little details throughout. Breakfast was delivered daily to our door in a little basket. It was great to get away and nice to have the wi-fi in case we needed it!

We stayed at the Lodge in early October. The weather was perfect, mild days and cool nights - perfect for snuggling by the fireplace in our room. We arrived in the evening and we were delighted to the Megunticook room well lit, warm and ready for us. We made it in time to watch the sunset reflecting off the ocean...

Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Lodge, and I hope you helped yourself to the apples. The tree was loaded this year. Macintosh! The Lodge as you know is a perfect location for day trips to the mid-coast area. Marshall Point Lighthouse is a favorite one, at the tip of the St. George peninsula, you can stop at several...

This is a gorgeous place. The cottage was really cozy and we loved every minute of our stay. There are only two things that need to ne improved. The wi-fi was realllyyyyyy slow and the water in the jacuzzi quickly turned cold which was uncomfortable. Everything else was good.

Thank you for your review. I wish you called the Jacuzzi problem to our attention right away. We could have addressed the issue immediately. Each Jacuzzi has two 40 gallon electric hot water heaters and an oil assist recovery which takes only five to ten minutes for the system to supply more hot water. There is also a manual in...

This was my 3rd or 4th stay at the Lodge at Camden Hills (can't remember!). Needless to say it is one of my happy places!! It is SUCH a delightful property. Secluded and peaceful with gorgeous waterfront views, yet 5 minute drive downtown to the cutest little dining/shopping area of downtown Camden. My favorite lodge is Penobscot - it's set...

This Christmas was our second time staying and it was even more amazing this time around! The amount of attention given to ensure our stay was perfect is not something often found. I can not stress enough how relaxing our stays here have been.

Thank you for your gracious review. Our goal at the Lodge is to make everyone's visit memorable. I'm glad you hit the foliage this fall, it was one of the best displays mother nature has put on in a long time. Here it is November and the oaks are still giving us a great display of color. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lodge at Camden Hills is one of the Camden's most scenic properties. Owned by the Burgess family for over forty years, the Lodge is a village of four cottages, four suites, and four standard rooms in five unique buildings across nine acres. With a view of Penobscot Bay ahead and Mount Battie directly behind us, it is easy to relax at the Lodge. Watch sailboats on the bay, wind-blown from island to island, from your private deck. Enjoy well-appointed, clean, and comfortable lodging. There is comfort in the privacy of your own space at the Lodge. Each room has a private entrance with parking and a deck with water views of Penobscot Bay. Our goal is to make our rooms as comfortable as possible. It is our experience that after a good night's sleep, Maine will work its magic on your mind and spirit! Our luxurious bedding by Cuddledown will lull you into a peaceful slumber. Our Maine-made comforters and pillows along with 400-thread count, 100% combed cotton bedding are inviting, soft, and comfortable. A continental breakfast basket is hung outside your door each morning so you can enjoy breakfast in your room at your leisure before heading out to explore the mid-coast. Start your morning with freshly-brewed coffee, tea, local baked goods, Maine-made Stonewall Kitchen jam, and orange juice. At day's end experience dramatically dark, star-filled skies, the robust smell of fir trees mixed with a little wood smoke, and cool air on your skin. Together these elements create an experience that is what Maine is all about. ... more   less
