This is a great spot if you like to have your own private cottage and are looking for a place that's not right in the heart of town but pretty close. We loved having a fireplace, jacuzzi and private porch but also being able to walk the mile or so into Camden. Jim, who greeted us, was incredibly friendly and... More

We could not have been more pleased with this place to stay! Our cottage was very nicely appointed and cozy. We loved the wood burning fireplace and the Jacuzzi tub. In the morning, we were pleased to see a stocked Keurig with different coffee choices; the breakfast basket outside our door was another example of their attention to detail. We... More

I stayed here this July with family and can't say enough about the Lodge at Camden Hills. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The location is ideal- just north of the town of Camden, and set up on a hill above the highway, its quiet and the grounds are well maintained. The views looking out toward the ocean... More

My husband and I stayed here one night on our way to Bar Harbor right after Labor Day weekend. The accommodations were nice with a great bed and amenities. Breakfast was delivered each morning in a basket. Orange juice, croissants and strawberry jam by Stonewall Kitchen. The unit had a Keurig coffee maker with a good selection of coffees and... More

“After forty-one years I think we’re getting some things right.” A modest quote from the owner, but it rings true!! Though I don’t believe it took all those years to get it right. The Lodge is great place to stay if you want privacy, comfort and convenience. Our room was clean and fresh when we arrived and redone on the... More

We recently traveled with friends and had the pleasure of staying at The Lodge at Camden Hills. We stayed in Owls Head and our friends in Port Clyde. This was a perfect set up for friends traveling together. Our split-level room was very clean, comfortable bed, and very nice bathroom. The kitchen area was stocked with coffee, tea and other... We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your review. The Lodge is a great spot to meet up with friends with plenty of elbow room to make any stay comfortable and memorable. We are getting ready for a spectacular fall, with plenty of firewood for your room or the fire pit on the front lawn. Cool... More

We vacation in Camden every summer and for the last 3 years we have returned to The Lodge at Camden Hills. The rooms are comfortable. This year we stayed in the cottage (Kineo)..oh how delightful. Staff is fun, location is perfect and it just gets better and better. We always spend one evening with lobster rolls (take out) and wine... More

This was our second time at The Lodge....good to see Jim again!. We drove from Indiana for the Lobster Fest in Rockland, and stayed in the Kennebec (from Aug 2 thru Aug 8). Made the Lodge our base for our stay. The location of the Lodge made it really convenient to Arcadia, Rockland, Portland, and the lobster pounds we visited... More

We chose a smaller unit which was more than adequate. Very clean, comfortable and close to town. We loved the setting which overlooked the bay. We enjoyed meeting the innkeeper, Jim Burgess, and hope to return.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lodge at Camden Hills is one of the Camden's most scenic properties. Owned by the Burgess family for over forty years, the Lodge is a village of four cottages, four suites, and four standard rooms in five unique buildings across nine acres. With a view of Penobscot Bay ahead and Mount Battie directly behind us, it is easy to relax at the Lodge. Watch sailboats on the bay, wind-blown from island to island, from your private deck. Enjoy well-appointed, clean, and comfortable lodging. There is comfort in the privacy of your own space at the Lodge. Each room has a private entrance with parking and a deck with water views of Penobscot Bay. Our goal is to make our rooms as comfortable as possible. It is our experience that after a good night's sleep, Maine will work its magic on your mind and spirit! Our luxurious bedding by Cuddledown will lull you into a peaceful slumber. Our Maine-made comforters and pillows along with 400-thread count, 100% combed cotton bedding are inviting, soft, and comfortable. A continental breakfast basket is hung outside your door each morning so you can enjoy breakfast in your room at your leisure before heading out to explore the mid-coast. Start your morning with freshly-brewed coffee, tea, local baked goods, Maine-made Stonewall Kitchen jam, and orange juice. At day's end experience dramatically dark, star-filled skies, the robust smell of fir trees mixed with a little wood smoke, and cool air on your skin. Together these elements create an experience that is what Maine is all about. ... more   less
