We did a 6-mile loop up to Mt. Megunticook at 1,385 feet. A cool, brisk day that still provided at least one terrific view over Camden and the ocean. Part of the hike is on unpaved road, but most takes you up and down many granite steps and vine crisscrossed paths. Not awful

Thank-you for taking the time to offer your comments Susan D. In addition to the toilets you mentioned there are two at the summit of Mt. Battie and one 1/4 mile up the Mt. Battie Road.

We had a fun ride up the mountain and then great views at the top. Fun to walk around, explore the tower and look down into the Camden Harbor. We spent about an hour here and could have stayed longer.

Drive up the auto road in the park, beautiful views and the tower. It was to hard hiking the entirety of any one trail here with small children but it was beautiful forest. Campground was quiet. There is the park across the street which probably would of been nice had we

The park was beautiful, the rangers were terrific but the camp facility very rustic. They do have water, electric and a better than your average WiFi system. The negative is that there isn't much for those traveling with kids -- small play ground up the hill from the dump

Hi Trish p, Your comments about the campground and particularly of the bathrooms are concerning. Our staff works hard to keep the bathrooms clean and sanitary around the clock. The bathrooms are cleaned and checked throughout the day. Complaints about insects in the bathrooms are rarely ever heard, nor have I seen in my 14 years as Manager here any conditions which you cite. I will personally check to make sure. The showers have tempered warm water and run for a minute or two but a push of the small button in the shower stall instantly starts the next cycle. Water pressure is invigorating. Perhaps the lighting colored your opinion on the bathrooms; lighting is economical and energy efficient CFL bulbs. These bathrooms were constructed in the late 1990's and CFL bulbs were commonly used then. Brighter lighting would be a good investment now that other lighting options are available. Please be assured that our staff takes a great deal of pride in offering what most folks find to be clean and enjoyable conditions throughout the park and particularly in the bathrooms.

This is the cleanest park I have camped in. Spacious cites, forested, very peaceful, clean facilities. You are in walking distance to the ocean and only 2 miles from Camden Harbor. Many hiking trails to explore, and the spectacular view from Mt. Battie makes this a great

It depends on your carrier - I am not sure which is better but there is a difference. BTW the park offers free WiFi which is continually being upgraded.

Pets are allowed. Dogs on leash. We camped in a 5th wheel. Not sure of tent cost, but nice shady campsites. Be sure to check out Mt. Battie! Enjoy!

Is there a beach close where we can go swim with the children?
"Site 36 is spacious and private and close to the bathrooms."
"Privacy with wifi - sites 89 or 99. Sites 71-81 offer most privacy, but no wifi."
"Ask for group sites 4 and 5. Very level and a bit of a view on the ocean."
