I visited Camden Hills State Park in October. The fall colors were at their peak. My wife and I took the auto road to the top where the view was spectacular! We also hiked through the forest and enjoyed the foliage. I also did a solo hike on the Maiden Cliffs Trail which was more challenging and offered great views.

Campground is very conveniently located in central Maine. Within 1-1.5 hours of many Maine attractions. Rangers are friendly and helpful. Free wifi in many of the campsites. Pets are welcome at this campground. We were tenting and found the site we had selected from the reservable on-line list (97) to be very close to the site next to it. We... More

We spent a single night at this spectacular Campground only 2 miles north of the town of Camden on Rt. 1. We are traveling in a 37' motorhome (not towing) with 2 dogs. We got a great site with 50amp and water in a clearing which allowed for satellite. Very nice quiet Campground with many various sites to choose from... More

I have to say it's a pretty park and shady. But our problems started the minute we walked in and was from the Maintenence guy/self appointed show-runner. The poor young lady at the desk pretty much ignored him (smart girl). We had reservations and he immediately looked at our A class with tow and said "you are too big. There's... More

This review must be for another campground - we're Camden Hills State Park. There is no 9:00 trash pickup or any sign referring to trash pickup - we have a centrally located dumpster. Nor do we have any positions called a "maintenance man" - we are staffed by Rangers & Assistant Rangers. None of our staff uses a car in... More

What a sweet, quiet, beautifully created campground nestled in the Pines. We hiked from here, slept so well in our tent- QUIET! The showers were clean and warm, bathrooms meticulous. We were sad to only stay 2 nights. So much nicer than staying in town with the masses.

Thank you so much for your comments. Our night staff will be happy to hear you thought the campground was quiet and the cleaning staff (mostly volunteers) will be glad their work was appreciated. I hope you return again! More

My mom and I stayed at the campground at Camden Hills. The sites are spread out and beautiful in the woods. Camping here was so fantastic, I'd come back anytime! There are plenty of hikes in the area, and you can drive up Mount Battie, pick blueberries, and enjoy the best view in the area. Everyone is so friendly, and... More

I decided to travel to Camden a day early for my schooner trip. Many places were full so I took a chance on camping and was fortunate to get a site. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Having never been to Camden they were happy to help me with suggestions for dinner and helped me find a store to pick... More

This was a group trip with two other families. We were able to reserve 2 neighboring sites & added another on the Saturday of July 4th weekend when another family decided to join us. We were amazed by that! The rangers were friendly and informative. Showers were hot & clean & bathrooms were also clean. Electricity to charge items after... More

I'm very happy you enjoyed your stay here over the Independence Day weekend. That's a busy time for us and it's great that you could have friends without reservations join you. I hope you return again - there's lots to see and do in the park and its location is central to many coastal points of interest. More

My wife and I camped here in June. It was not our first visit to Camden or Camden Hills, but it was our first time camping here. We got really lucky and got a site right near the bathhouse, so that made it convenient for use of facilities and showers. The bathrooms themselves were very clean, and appeared to be... More

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. Our bathrooms were built in 1997, but recently the trend has been to have separate rooms each with a toilet, shower and sink. We missed that improvement by a few years... The temperature control valves usually work well but maybe once or twice a year need repair... More

From making reservations, to changing reservations, because I wanted to stay longer. Everything else you can imagine from Firewood, to just great hospitality! Pet friendly! People friendly too! We are from Texas, this weather is almost chilly for us. But we will struggle through. Camp sites are well maintained.
