We stayed in the Curtis Island Suite for four nights at the end of July 2022. The room and the view of the harbor from the room were wonderful. The staff was great, and we had breakfast served in the room each morning! The location in the cute town of Camden is central amidst nearby restaurants and shops. The view from each room might vary. Dedicated hotel parking is very limited, but we always had a parking space.
The Inn is located directly on the waterfront. My hubby and I had a harborview with a balcony. The furniture and balcony were spotless. The king bed was clean with plenty of pillows and the linens were soft. The bathroom was large and had every accommodation. Heated fan, ambient light for night, bright for day. The shower was roomy with all the nozzles you could desire. I even used the jacuzzi tub. The people at the inn were professional and very attentive to us. People watching from the balcony was a good time. We are going to go back to Camden just to stay at Grand Harbor Inn it was that good.
We stayed three nights at this hotel in mid May. This is a small hotel (11 rooms I believe) right in the center of town on the harbor. Location cannot be beat. Shops and restaurants were just a short walk. Service was superb. Although I would definitely recommend staying here, I only gave it 4 stars as I felt I was misled about what would be the view from our room. Our room, one of the Grand Suites, was very nice. A very nicely appointed room with lovely furnishings. Bedroom was fairly large, bathroom was good size and the living room with the balcony, fireplace and couch was lovely. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. There was a nice desk in the living room with accessible plugs. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel or side street. However, we were there during the slow season in mid May, and at times the parking area was pretty packed. Not sure how bad it would be during mid summer. Breakfast in the room was terrific. Delivered at the time we selected (which gave us more time to sleep instead of rushing down to a breakfast buffet etc). And frankly having it in your room (or on the balcony if you have a nice view) just adds to the vacation experience. There was always some kind of baked good, some kind of egg dish (frittata, quiche etc), yogurt parfait and fruit. Some reviews have negatively reviewed the breakfast as inadequate. I could not disagree more. It was more than adequate. In fact, we felt there was too much food the first morning so on the next two mornings we ordered less. Service was terrific. Everyone was very helpful and tended to our every need. Website photos of the hotel, room and breakfast are fairly representative of the hotel, albeit they make the rooms look a bit larger then they are......but are not representative of the views from the room that I thought I was getting. One reason I picked this hotel and the room I booked was for what I thought would be a nice, albeit partial, view of the water from the balcony and living room (my birthday happened to fall during our stay and I particularly wanted to sit out on a balcony enjoy the view). I had thought about booking the more expensive room facing the water, but given the time of year thought it could be chilly on the balcony if it was directly on the water , and given the description of the Grand Suite and photos, it looked like I would still still have a relaxing view of the water and pier, albeit partial view. So I booked this room. What I got was essentially a view of the parking lot…with a strained partial view of the water. You could not really see the harbor or pier from the room or while sitting on the balcony. You could only see part of the water if you stood on the balcony at one end and stretched. Most troubling was that you were essentially viewing the parking lot. So, I was very disappointed. I feel I was misled as to the views for this type of room. On their website the description of the Grand Suite states “our Grand Suites offer distant views of the Inner Harbor”, with photos that look like you still have a view of the water, just not directly facing it, both from the living room and balcony. And nothing indicating you were really looking at a parking lot. Had I known this, I might have picked one of the rooms that were definitely facing the water. Overall , we loved our stay there, the location was an easy walk to many restaurants, and, as I have said, the room itself was top notch as was the staff and breakfast. So I would definitely recommend staying here, just understand that the partial views are really a view of the parking lot.…
If you are looking for the perfect location in a perfect setting, then the Grand Harbor Inn is exactly that - especially given that our particular room (#2) was on the water with only the dock between our second (top) floor balcony and the water where the Windjammer schooner Appledore (their sunset cruise under full sail is amazing!) was tied up. We had a clear view across the harbor and out to the bay - just gorgeous! We were literally steps away from all the best restaurants and bars, ice cream, coffee, and clothes shops, harbor tours and kayak rentals. The staff at the Inn were all very friendly and helpful, and the large room, king size bed, large bathroom and shower were pleasantly spacious in an inn setting. Breakfast is brought to your door, and free parking is very handy. (There is also a room micro, fridge, coffee maker and safe.) We will definitely be going back!!…
Stayed for two nights the week prior to July 4th. Had a corner suite overlooking the harbor. Very picturesque. Only possible criticism was the noise from the adjacent outdoor bar/cafe at night, but they closed by 9 or 10 so it wasn't a big deal. Quiet overall. Rooms very comfortable, amenities were sufficient. Nice shower and jacuzzi tub. Parking a little tight, but enough. Would highly recommend.
We stayed here 2 nights this week. Had harborfront room with balcony. Very nice room with very comfortable king bed. Breakfast was pretty good but quiche was not hot. Had to request housekeeping which was very reluctantly provided. I do understand that help is hard for them to get,but guest should not be made to feel like they are making an outrageous request.
We loved our stay at the Grand Harbor Inn in Camden. The hotel is located right on the bay and has beautiful views. Each room has their own private balcony beautifully decorated with flowers. The hotel is within walking distance of so many great restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities. The employees are kind and attentive and the rooms are very clean. We really enjoyed the in room fireplace and jacuzzi tub - so relaxing! Our favorite part was the full, yummy, freshly made breakfast delivered straight to your room at the time you request. It was so tasty and a wonderful way to start each morning eating it on the balcony. We would love to come back some day.
Truly extraordinary! Grand Harbor is one of the prettiest, most luxurious hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The linens are exquisite and the bed/mattress incredibly comfortable. The shower/jacuzzi were nothing short of amazing. With a lovely balcony overlooking the harbor, our room was private and soothing. Spotless with every convenience, easy checkin/checkout with great communication. We cannot wait to go back! Thank you!
The views of this beautiful harbor are stunning and allow you to watch people work on boats. Since this is the prime viewing spot where everyone goes, there is a steady stream of people and conversations directly below your balcony. Bustling town with many restaurants but it may be difficult to actually get a meal. We learned that the church bells ring on the hour…all night! Staff is really friendly, but main services appear to be at the hotel next door. Parking in season might be an issue since the lot is small. Highlights include views from Mt. Battie and a lovely park near library and falls. Bed is quite comfortable but furniture does not reflect the light seaside location. Breakfast choices were limited. Recommend off season visit.
Spent a few wonderful days at the Grand Harbor Hotel. Room 4 was absolutely lovely. Fireplace, balcony overlooking the harbor, comfortable bed. Breakfast every morning was great. Fortunate to have unusual early warm spell so enjoyed the breakfast on the balcony. Loved watching the boats come in and out, although a week too early in the season to get to enjoy a schooner trip. Cookies and fruit water every day in the lobby at 3pm. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops and ice cream. Looking forward to coming back
